People of all ages look for summer every year. It is a rest from work, the joy of sunny days after cold winter and rainy spring, a chance to travel or relax in nature. As for me, I always liked summer because of the possibility to stay with family and friends, to read my favorite books, and just to think about something important.

Summer is the warmest and graceful season for sure. During the summertime Nature lives to the full extent. Trees are green and juicy fruits are ripening on their branches. Some admire generous autumn, others like merry snowy winter, many of us enjoy drippingsnow but I love summer!
We have the longest holidays in summer! There is no necessity at all to get up early. Neither lessons nor hometasks! You may do what you want: to swim all day long or go to the forest to gather berries! And so it is during three long wonderful months of the best season!

People of all ages look for summer every year. It is a rest from work, the joy of sunny days after cold winter and rainy spring, a chance to travel or relax in nature. As for me, I always liked summer because of the possibility to stay with family and friends, to read my favorite books, and just to think about something important.
Люди всех возрастов каждый год ждут лета. Это отдых от работы, радость солнечных дней после холодной зимы и дождливой весны, шанс отправиться в путешествие или расслабиться на природе. Что касается меня, лето всегда нравилось мне из-за возможности побыть с семьёй и друзьями, почитать любимые книги и просто подумать о чём-нибудь важном.
These summer holidays were the last: I will graduate from school this year. It is necessary to choose a profession and the university to enter. Therefore, I dedicated much time to thoughts about this serious decision.

Of course, I did not forget about the rest as well. For example, I spent a few days on the lake near our town with my cousin and two friends. We fished, collect mushrooms in a small forest, and talked about our future. Later, we met twice to play basketball on the sports ground, according to our tradition.

For a month, I worked at the post office to earn some pocket money. My father offered me to work as a corrector in the town newspaper (he is a journalist); however, I prefer another way of life. I have been rather successful in French and in writing during last years, so I would like to become a translator. I practiced French every day, watched several French films, and enrolled in additional language courses.

Summer is the warmest and graceful season for sure. During the summertime Nature lives to the full extent. Trees are green and juicy fruits are ripening on their branches. Flowers are blooming at flowerbeds, woods and meadows. Animals and birds are busy with feeding their offspring. They are living and neither hibernating.
Summer days are blessed for people as well. No one needs clumsy warm clothes and there no need in heating their apartments. During summer there’s no frost and ice-crusted ground. Everyone is free for move, walking, running and traveling.
Serene summer day is filled with sunlight and bright clear sky. Every tree is covered with beautiful green leaves. Among their branches there is a quire of birds of all sorts and types. One won’t be able to see all hear these magnificent things during cold winter.
Along with the great weather summer brings lots of spare time. One can use it for use or just enjoy leisure time under the sun. It’s a great time for active vacations of a part time job. Anyway summer provides plenty of time to spend it in a favorite way.
And summer evenings are exceptionally good. Temperature decreases to comfortable level. Dust of big cities settles and sky gets covered with golden rays of the sunset. Everything becomes quiet and peaceful.

As you know we have four seasons in our country: winter, spring, summer and autumn. All of them are great in their own way. In winter we have a lot of snow, holidays and gifts. Spring is full of new life and warmth. I like autumn because of multi-colored leaves and rainy weather. But my favorite season is summer.
In summer everything is full of colors, neat and clean. There is no mud under your feet and it seems that nothing can spoil your mood. It’s the season of adventures. I love spending my free time outside and this season is excellent for camping with friends in the mountains and viewing numerous flowers on the fields. I think my favorites are daisies, chamomiles and violets. Summer is the hottest and driest season in the year, but occasional
thunderstorms bring relief. Before the thunderstorm, the air becomes notably fresh, and after it, one can see a beautiful rainbow in the sky.
Also, I like summer because you can enjoy eating healthy food like berries, fruits and vegetables, not to mention that you can eat ice-cream every day and make BBQ in the backyard.
It’s just a wonderful time to have a rest from the intense year and take a necessary vacation. Every summer my family and I choose two weeks to spend them together in a new place. Usually, we travel to different countries because we like meeting new people and making new friends.

The bright sunshine warms the Earth.
When the heat is oppressive, it is a treat to get out of town and have a walk in the woods.
The fields are green. In summer nature surrounds us with all kinds of flowers: merry dandelions, beautiful roses, shy daisies.
Sometimes the weather becomes very hot in summer and the air gets stuffy. Then a thunderstorm usually brings relief. The sky is suddenly covered with dark clouds and distant rolls of thunder are heard. Later bright flashes of lightning are followed by claps of thunder and it begins to rain. Personally I suppose that summer is the best time for holiday and rest. This season is the warmest one. The nature is really beautiful and the people have various opportunities for their rest. They can travel and visit another cities and countries, continents and islands. They can go hiking and have a terrific time in the forest, in the mountains, on the lake, on the river or on the sea. The people can also go out with their friends and relatives and have fun in the open air.

Of course, it can rain sometimes, but some people like rainy days. So do I. When it rains I like to read books and to listen to the patter of rain.

I am going to enter the university, that`s why I have also to put the entering exams. I will read up for examinations in our country house – far away from the scurry and the scramble of city life.
В конце августа я возвращаюсь в город. Первого сентября начинается новый учебный год. На будущий год я буду сдавать выпускные школьные экзамены. Some admire generous autumn, others like merry snowy winter, many of us enjoy drippingsnow but I love summer!
We have the longest holidays in summer! There is no necessity at all to get up early. Neither lessons nor hometasks! You may do what you want: to swim all day long or go to the forest to gather berries! And so it is during three long wonderful months of the best season!
And what bright colours summer has!
It is a pleasure to the eyes the wild verdure of trees and grass, the gold of sunrays, the bright- blue sky with the white clouds on it. And have you ever been in the fields in summer? How many colourful flowers you can see there! So, you couldn`t take your eyes off this beauty!

This summer I have been at the seaside. I was admired how changeable the sea was! In a minute it could change its colour; from limpid- blue up to dirty – brown. But nevertheless it was fine! I would like to come back here again and again!
I like summer because I can see very often the rainbow. And the summer itself is the real rainbow of colours!

The warmest month in summer is July. However, the summer weather depends on the local climate, though it can vary in different cities and countries. There may be rainy and gloomy weather in some cities. Yet, summer is the most cheerful and bright season, filled with the thousands of colors, in most cases.
Many people take vacation during summer to digress from work and relax at the warm summer day in the countryside or walk around the town. Children have holidays in many countries during this time. One can go to the beach to sunbathe or swim in the river in summertime. Furthermore, in summer many people ride bicycles and rollerblade or go hiking in the woods.

How I spent my summer holidays.
My name is Vlad. I’m twelve years old. Summer — my favorite time of the year. My holidays began and it’s not necessary to wake up early and go to school. In June of this year I had a rest in the sports training camp. The time I spent there was very interesting and joyous. I made new friends and learnt much. We swam in the river and played volleyball. We were taught how to condition us to the cold. We had a shower bath every morning. When my father saw me he said that I’d grown up. In July, my mother began holiday, and together we went to rest in the city of Sochi. For days on end we sunbathed and swam in the sea. The weather was wonderful. We went to see waterfalls and visited mountain lake. August I spent in the village with her grandparents. My grandfather went fishing and to the forest to gather mushrooms and berries with me. He taught me how to recognize edible mushrooms and orientate in the forest. I helped my grandmother with housekeeping every day.
