Каждому, у кого в школе одним из предметов был любимый English, хорошо знакомы топики на английском. People always invent something new that simplifies our life and makes it better. It is the reason why some things are no longer in use. There are so many technologies nowadays. We cannot imagine our life without smartphones, tablets, computers, television and many other things.
Люди всегда придумывают что-то новое, что упрощает нашу жизнь и делает ее лучше. Это причина, почему некоторые вещи больше не используются. В наше время технологий очень много. Мы не можем представить нашу жизнь без смартфонов, планшетов, компьютеров, телевидения и многих других вещей.
People often say that printed books are replaced by e-books. I cannot agree with this statement. I think that now people are even more interested in printed books though they often use e-books.
Люди часто говорят, что печатные книги заменяются электронными книгами. Я не могу согласиться с этим утверждением. Я думаю, что сейчас еще больше людей интересуются печатными книгами, хотя они часто используют электронные.
Though printed books are still very popular it is possible to say that newspapers have become less popular. Nowadays we can find all necessary articles and news on the Internet. Besides, we can choose the particular information. For example, when we read a newspaper we have to read articles of different fields, otherwise it is the waste of money. On the Internet we can read only those articles we are interested in, for example sport articles, that is why young people prefer the Internet to newspapers. Besides, many newspapers have their electronic versions on the Internet. However the older generation prefers to read newspapers. It is more common for them. Besides, usually they are interested in many things so the articles of different fields are interesting for them.

Of course, nowadays most people prefer the Internet as a kind of mass media. You can find interesting news, know about special events or sales, invite many people to your party or arrange a meeting. The most important thing about the Internet is that you can do it in a matter of seconds.
Newspapers are still very popular kind of mass media. I would say the press is a very powerful kind. It is difficult to explain but people trust the press. Old people like reading newspapers. For example, my grandparents buy many newspapers every week. Young people prefer magazines because magazines are bright and contain the information which is more interesting for youth.
Radio is the favourite kind of mass media of many people. Listening to the radio, one can do a lot of things, for example, drive a car or clean the room. You can know useful information, listen to interviews or news. I like listening to the radio.
Television plays an important role in our life. There are a great variety of channels. We watch news, sport competitions, films, talk shows, for example. Everyone can find what he or she wants to watch most of all.
Mass media is an important part of the modern life. However I think that sometimes we need get away from mass media just to relax or spend time with family or friends.

Газеты все еще остаются очень популярным вид средств массовой информации. Я бы сказала, что пресса является очень влиятельным видом. Трудно объяснить, но люди доверяют прессе. Пожилые люди любят читать газеты. Например, мои бабушка и дедушка каждую неделю покупают много газет. Молодые люди предпочитают журналы, потому что журналы яркие и содержат информацию, которая является более интересной для молодежи.
Радио – любимое средство массовой информации многих людей. Слушая радио, можно выполнять много различных дел, например, вести машину или убирать комнату. Можно узнать полезную информацию, послушать интервью или новости. Я люблю слушать радио.
Телевидение играет важную роль в нашей жизни. Существует огромное разнообразие каналов. Мы смотрим новости, спортивные соревнования, фильмы, ток-шоу, например. Каждый может найти то, что хочет смотреть больше всего.
Средства массовой информации являются важной частью современной жизни. Тем не менее, я считаю, что иногда нам необходимо отдыхать от средств массовой информации, чтобы просто расслабиться или провести время с семьей или друзьями.

Если ваш уровень английского пока не позволяет стать полноценным приверженцем аудирования, предлагаем не торопиться и остановиться на тренировках написания сочинений. Тем, кому предстоит сдача ЕГЭ, интенсивная подготовка в этом направлении особенно важна. Советуем во время экзамена ответственно подойти к заданию и оставить на него минимум 1/3 от выделенного времени, поскольку качественно написанный текст принесет высокий балл, способный компенсировать ошибки в грамматической части. С 2012 года на ЕГЭ по английскому языку выделяется 180 минут – не теряйте бесценное время, распланируйте его заранее.
Если говорить об объеме письменной работы на экзамене, то цифра колеблется от 150 до 300 слов. На тестировании показатели устанавливаются по-разному – советуем уточнить объем заблаговременно, чтобы было время научиться писать текст соответствующей длины.
Написать сочинение с правильно расставленными акцентами поможет универсальная структура эссе, включающая:
Заголовок. Он должен отражать тему всего текста.
Введение. Здесь вы пишите до четырех коротких предложений, в которых раскрываете выбранную тему.
Основная часть – самая большая и важная составляющая сочинения. В 2 – 3 абзацах максимально развернуто и и грамотно раскрываете суть сочинения и приводите аргументы.
Заключение. Такая же короткая часть, как и введение – несколько предложений, в которых делаете вывод и подводите итог всего вышесказанного.
Важно! В основной части топика абзац необходимо начинать с вводного предложения (Topic Sentence), которое должно быть раскрыто и подтверждено аргументами в последующих предложениях.

The importance of newspapers is grand at the present time, because this was the first source of information for a long time. In the epoch of technologies it moves on to a new footing and it is printed not only on paper, but also have a website to post all data online as well as books.
It brings people fresh news and views from all corners of the world and provided it to all social groups from businessmen, celebrities, politicians to kids and unemployed people. Press flashes numerous and various knowledge in a plenty of fields and spheres: fashion, science, medicine, technology, education, etc. A democracy is one of the basic advantages of the press, because it makes people aware of policy, government and humans’ rights. It is also a great feedback demonstrated to government people’s wishes, desires and aspiration through the press to understand what to do.
The variety of newspaper editions is impressive and every reader could find something interesting for him: The Times, The Guardian, The Independent, The Inquirer, The Observer, The Metro, The Telegraph, Today etc. All of them flash different facts and events from different and opposite points of view.
Unfortunately the newspaper has not only advantages, but also disadvantages too. Actually some popular publications have vested interests and provide useless and not untruthful facts. They are owned by big people of the world and have to show their line. Moreover, some of them offer their readers nasty and fictional information just to meet the eye.

Internet and Modern Life
The Internet has already entered our ordinary life. Everybody knows that the Internet is a global computer network, which embraces hundred of millions of users all over the world and helps us to communicate with each other.
The history of Internet began in the United States in 1969. It was a military experiment, designed to help to survive during a nuclear war, when everything around might be polluted by radiation and it would be dangerous to get out for any living being to get some information to anywhere. Information sent over the Internet takes the shortest and safest path available from one computer to another. Because of this, any two computers on the net will be able to stay in touch with each other as long as there is a single route between them. This technology was called packet switching.
Invention of modems, special devices allowing your computer to send the information through the telephone line, has opened doors to the Internet for millions of people.
Most of the Internet host computers are in the United States of America. It is clear that the accurate number of users can be counted fairly approximately, nobody knows exactly how many people use the Internet today, because there are hundred of millions of users and their number is growing.
Nowadays the most popular Internet service is e-mail. Most of the people use the network only for sending and receiving e-mail messages. They can do it either they are at home or in the internet clubs or at work. Other popular services are available on the Internet too. It is reading news, available on some dedicated news servers, telnet, FTP servers, etc.
In many countries, the Internet could provide businessmen with a reliable, alternative to the expensive and unreliable telecommunications systems its own system of communications. Commercial users can communicate cheaply over the Internet with the rest of the world. When they send e-mail messages, they only have to pay for phone calls to their local service providers, not for international calls around the world, when you pay a good deal of money.
But saving money is only the first step and not the last one. There is a commercial use of this network and it is drastically increasing. Now you can work through the internet, gambling and playing through the net.
However, there are some problems. The most important problem is security. When you send an e-mail, your message can travel through many different networks and computers. The data is constantly being directed towards its destination by special computers called routers. Because of this, it is possible to get into any of the computers along the route, intercept and even change the data being sent over the Internet. But there are many encoding programs available. Notwith-standing, these programs are not perfect and can easily be cracked.
Another big and serious problem of the net is control. Yes, there is no effective control in the^Internet, because a huge amount of information circulating through the net. It is like a tremendous library and market together. In the future, the situation might change, but now we have what we have. It could be expressed in two words— an anarchist’s dream.

Сегодня существует широкий спектр методик проверки и закрепления знаний английского языка. В числе самых эффективных – сочинение. Кроме того, оно является ключевым заданием при сдаче единого государственного экзамена по иностранному. И это говорит о необходимость серьезного подхода к приобретению опыта в составлении эссе. По уровню сложности сочинение сравнимо только с аудированием.
Аудирование – упражнение, направленное на развитие навыка восприятия иностранной речи на слух. Человек быстрее погружается в изучение английского, значительно пополняет словарный запас и переходит на разговорный уровень. Особенности и преимущества метода:
из-за отсутствия возможности остановиться и переслушать вы учитесь усваивать информацию за ограниченное время;
отсутствие контроля содержания (к чему мы так привыкли в процессе общения или письма) исключает вариант избежать сложных грамматических конструкций и заменить их более привычными;
еще один плюс – научиться понимать разные диалекты. Иногда диктор в разговоре может использовать общепринятые сокращения, говорить с определенным акцентом или интонацией.

Если ваш уровень английского пока не позволяет стать полноценным приверженцем аудирования, предлагаем не торопиться и остановиться на тренировках написания сочинений. Советуем во время экзамена ответственно подойти к заданию и оставить на него минимум 1/3 от выделенного времени, поскольку качественно написанный текст принесет высокий балл, способный компенсировать ошибки в грамматической части. С 2012 года на ЕГЭ по английскому языку выделяется 180 минут – не теряйте бесценное время, распланируйте его заранее.
Если говорить об объеме письменной работы на экзамене, то цифра колеблется от 150 до 300 слов. На тестировании показатели устанавливаются по-разному – советуем уточнить объем заблаговременно, чтобы было время научиться писать текст соответствующей длины.
Написать сочинение с правильно расставленными акцентами поможет универсальная структура эссе, включающая:
Заголовок. Он должен отражать тему всего текста.
Введение. Здесь вы пишите до четырех коротких предложений, в которых раскрываете выбранную тему.
Основная часть – самая большая и важная составляющая сочинения. В 2 – 3 абзацах максимально развернуто и и грамотно раскрываете суть сочинения и приводите аргументы.
Заключение. Такая же короткая часть, как и введение – несколько предложений, в которых делаете вывод и подводите итог всего вышесказанного.
Важно! В основной части топика абзац необходимо начинать с вводного предложения (Topic Sentence), которое должно быть раскрыто и подтверждено аргументами в последующих предложениях.

Сочинение получится лаконичным и интересным, если в процессе создания использовать формальный стиль. Ему характерны:
минимальное использование сокращений (don’t, I’m, …);
отсутствие скобок и восклицательных знаков;
предложения не должны начинаться с союзов (and, but, …). Помните, что это допустимо в процессе коммуникации, но не при изложении мыслей на бумаге;
старайтесь избегать упот ребления вводных слов (to tell the truth, …);
не ограничивайтесь рубленными фразами. Сочинение – отличная возможность показать свое красноречие и владение навыками в выстраивании сложных грамматических оборотов с применением логических средств связи.

The importance of newspapers is grand at the present time, because this was the first source of information for a long time. In the epoch of technologies it moves on to a new footing and it is printed not only on paper, but also have a website to post all data online as well as books.
It brings people fresh news and views from all corners of the world and provided it to all social groups from businessmen, celebrities, politicians to kids and unemployed people. Press flashes numerous and various knowledge in a plenty of fields and spheres: fashion, science, medicine, technology, education, etc. A democracy is one of the basic advantages of the press, because it makes people aware of policy, government and humans’ rights. It is also a great feedback demonstrated to government people’s wishes, desires and aspiration through the press to understand what to do.
The variety of newspaper editions is impressive and every reader could find something interesting for him: The Times, The Guardian, The Independent, The Inquirer, The Observer, The Metro, The Telegraph, Today etc. All of them flash different facts and events from different and opposite points of view.
Unfortunately the newspaper has not only advantages, but also disadvantages too. Actually some popular publications have vested interests and provide useless and not untruthful facts. They are owned by big people of the world and have to show their line. Moreover, some of them offer their readers nasty and fictional information just to meet the eye.

Internet and Modern Life
The Internet has already entered our ordinary life. Everybody knows that the Internet is a global computer network, which embraces hundred of millions of users all over the world and helps us to communicate with each other.
The history of Internet began in the United States in 1969. It was a military experiment, designed to help to survive during a nuclear war, when everything around might be polluted by radiation and it would be dangerous to get out for any living being to get some information to anywhere. Information sent over the Internet takes the shortest and safest path available from one computer to another. Because of this, any two computers on the net will be able to stay in touch with each other as long as there is a single route between them. This technology was called packet switching.
Invention of modems, special devices allowing your computer to send the information through the telephone line, has opened doors to the Internet for millions of people.
Most of the Internet host computers are in the United States of America. It is clear that the accurate number of users can be counted fairly approximately, nobody knows exactly how many people use the Internet today, because there are hundred of millions of users and their number is growing.
Nowadays the most popular Internet service is e-mail. Most of the people use the network only for sending and receiving e-mail messages. They can do it either they are at home or in the internet clubs or at work. Other popular services are available on the Internet too. It is reading news, available on some dedicated news servers, telnet, FTP servers, etc.
In many countries, the Internet could provide businessmen with a reliable, alternative to the expensive and unreliable telecommunications systems its own system of communications. Commercial users can communicate cheaply over the Internet with the rest of the world. When they send e-mail messages, they only have to pay for phone calls to their local service providers, not for international calls around the world, when you pay a good deal of money.
But saving money is only the first step and not the last one. There is a commercial use of this network and it is drastically increasing. Now you can work through the internet, gambling and playing through the net.
However, there are some problems. The most important problem is security. When you send an e-mail, your message can travel through many different networks and computers. The data is constantly being directed towards its destination by special computers called routers. Because of this, it is possible to get into any of the computers along the route, intercept and even change the data being sent over the Internet. But there are many encoding programs available. Notwith-standing, these programs are not perfect and can easily be cracked.
Another big and serious problem of the net is control. Yes, there is no effective control in the^Internet, because a huge amount of information circulating through the net. It is like a tremendous library and market together. In the future, the situation might change, but now we have what we have. It could be expressed in two words— an anarchist’s dream.
