I have an oval face. It is quite slim. I have a neat nose and thin lips. I hardly apply any make-up. I think that healthy and good-looking skin is what makes a girl attractive. Many people say that I resemble my mom.
I am slim and tall. My height is 170 cm. I like wearing different clothes. I often wear trousers or jeans with a top or a pullover. I put on a skirt or a dress for some special occasions. I like to wear heels. In my everyday life I wear stylish medium-heeled shoes. To be honest, I have quite a big collection of shoes for different occasions. I think in the future this collection will get even bigger.
I am a very open and easy-going person. My lifestyle is quite active. I often meet with my friends, go to different concerts and exhibitions and try to follow everything what might interest young people.

Appearance is the most evident part of a personality, everyone’s “facade”. It forms the first impression of a person and, at the same time, helps us to express ourselves. Although face features, physique, skin tone are inborn peculiarities, we can choose dress style and type of a haircut as well as decide what levels of neatness and athletics training are necessary for us. There are many sustainable notions and stereotypes tied with appearance: for example, someone dressed in clean and ironed clothes seems to be serious and responsible, a person who wears glasses – intelligent and highly educated. Often these notions are false, but people try to conform to them anyway.

It is possible to say that modern society is captured by the “cult” of appearance. The fashion industry, with special magazines, television programs, Internet resources, and books, determine the standard of beauty and elegance. Networks of boutiques and cosmetics shops become business empires, millions of girls and women follow diets to lose weight, and men build muscles in a gym… Some people even use plastic surgery to change their appearance.

In my opinion, appearance is a rather important aspect of life, but it is useless and dangerous to make it one’s main purpose. Pretty face and slim figure do not guarantee a successful career, true friends, or love. Besides, a standard of beauty depends on the culture, the epoch, and other factors. Therefore, the ideal appearance for me is natural, healthy, without artificial tanning and pretentious clothes. I suppose a person can look well without turning the beauty into addiction.

On the contrary, when one sees a skinny brunette with ugly irregular features — a hooked nose, pointed chin, close-set eyes and thin lips, strange thoughts come to one’s head; because it is the image of evil people — cruel and cunning . It may be a relief some time later to find her a clever, gentle and good-mannered lady and think: ‘What charm! A heart of gold!’
Another general misconception lies in the fact that children are always expected to resemble their parents. And parents like it when children take after them. Relatives like to compare moles, the shape of noses, etc. The greatest compliment is: ‘They are as like as two peas’. The greatest disappointment is to find nothing in common. We want to deny people their exclusiveness, we don’t want to admit that nature has selected other options from an enormous genetic fund developed over generations. Why do we like our copies? Who knows!
Nature likes to play tricks on us. But don’t you think it is a present on the part of nature? Life becomes not a boring routine, but a brilliant kaleidoscope of characters and appearances which often clash.
I have both weak and strong points in my character. I am certainly a bit ashamed of my weak points and I do my best to get rid of them. As for my strong features of character, I value and cherish them.
Everyone tells me that I take after my dad as I’m a good listener and very sociable. I am a complete extravert. I love people and the world around me. I understand them and make friends quite easily. Being open and communicative means broadening my mind and my views on the world. That’s why I like meeting new people and talking to them. I always try to be an open-minded and adaptable guy because our world is constantly changing.
One of my best traits is that I try to feel as happy and cheerful as I can most of the time. My friends often call me the life and soul of the party, with a good sense of humor, although I may sometimes be kind of shy. Anyone can be down or depressed when something sad happens. But if somebody hurts my feelings or makes me angry I just tend to ignore him or her and approach the things from the positive side. I really dislike rude and ignorant people but I rarely lose my temper because of them.
I would also describe my personality as generous. I take pleasure in sharing something with other people and I am ready to help them at any time. I am organized and punctual too and I am happy when things happen on time, according to the schedule. I am very hard-working and I am always busy. I don’t like to give up.
I’d say that my negative and the least appealing qualities are obstinacy and perfectionism. Sometimes I set too high standards when it comes to choosing something. I am often a hard person to please. I’m afraid my choosy character makes me lose some nice opportunities in my life.
In conclusion I would like to say that my personality qualities are both inherent and acquired. When I think of myself I often get confused about how differently I see myself. I am constantly trying to improve myself as a person.

color of my hair but I don’t care. My hair is straight and thick, but when I
was a little girl I had curly hair. I like to be different and occasionally to
change something in my appearance.

Describing people: traits of character
There is no doubt
that all people have different character traits. Sometimes you
may think that you know a person’s character well just because
you have been friends for ages, but one particular situation can
show how wrong you were. In lots of cases people just don’t know
who they really are and what they are capable of. Anyway, each
of us has both negative and positive character traits and wants
to be a better person. In life, there is a constant battle
between these two traits.
As far as I am
concerned, I am emotional and easy-going. That’s why it is easy
for me to make new acquaintances. Besides, my friends say that I
am helpful, sympathetic and kind-hearted. Well, I am supportive
as well. No matter how busy I may be, I will always be there to
help if I am needed. As for my negative character traits, I am
lazy and stubborn. Besides, I am too touchy and vulnerable. I
dislike when people criticize me because I feel as if I must be
perfect. Another negative trait of character I dislike and
suffer from is my hot temper. I get angry very quickly and fly
into a rage. Sometimes I even can’t control myself when I argue
with anyone.
If you ask me to
describe a person whose character I like, I would tell you about
my best friend, Anna. She is sociable and cheerful. She is
always in high spirits. Her optimism always cheers me up.
Besides, she is clever, purposeful and hardworking. She is an
excellent student and already knows three foreign languages.
Moreover, she has a wide range of interests. She is fond of
music, reading and painting.
As for
characteristics which are the least appealing in a person, I
think it is envy and hypocrisy. Unfortunately, appearances are
often deceptive. It is true when they say, “Don’t judge a book
by its cover.” As for other negative characteristics I hate, I
can’t stand cruel and ruthless people. Moreover, I don’t trust

Appearance is the most evident part of a personality, everyone’s “facade”. It forms the first impression of a person and, at the same time, helps us to express ourselves. Although face features, physique, skin tone are inborn peculiarities, we can choose dress style and type of a haircut as well as decide what levels of neatness and athletics training are necessary for us. There are many sustainable notions and stereotypes tied with appearance: for example, someone dressed in clean and ironed clothes seems to be serious and responsible, a person who wears glasses – intelligent and highly educated. Often these notions are false, but people try to conform to them anyway.

It is possible to say that modern society is captured by the “cult” of appearance. The fashion industry, with special magazines, television programs, Internet resources, and books, determine the standard of beauty and elegance. Networks of boutiques and cosmetics shops become business empires, millions of girls and women follow diets to lose weight, and men build muscles in a gym… Some people even use plastic surgery to change their appearance.

In my opinion, appearance is a rather important aspect of life, but it is useless and dangerous to make it one’s main purpose. Pretty face and slim figure do not guarantee a successful career, true friends, or love. Besides, a standard of beauty depends on the culture, the epoch, and other factors. Therefore, the ideal appearance for me is natural, healthy, without artificial tanning and pretentious clothes. I suppose a person can look well without turning the beauty into addiction.

A simpleton!’ You tell the boss of your troubles and expect immediate help. But the boss appears to be rude, harsh and willful. You never get your help and think: ‘A stone heart and an iron fist.
When someone sees a delicately built pretty blonde with curly hair, blue eyes, a straight nose and a high forehead, one is inclined to think that the beauty is intelligent and nice. It may be disappointing to think later ‘What a stupid, capricious, impolite bore!’
On the contrary, when one sees a skinny brunette with ugly irregular features — a hooked nose, pointed chin, close-set eyes and thin lips, strange thoughts come to one’s head; because it is the image of evil people — cruel and cunning . It may be a relief some time later to find her a clever, gentle and good-mannered lady and think: ‘What charm! A heart of gold!’
Another general misconception lies in the fact that children are always expected to resemble their parents. And parents like it when children take after them. Relatives like to compare moles, the shape of noses, etc. The greatest compliment is: ‘They are as like as two peas’. The greatest disappointment is to find nothing in common. We want to deny people their exclusiveness, we don’t want to admit that nature has selected other options from an enormous genetic fund developed over generations. Why do we like our copies? Who knows!
Nature likes to play tricks on us. But don’t you think it is a present on the part of nature? Life becomes not a boring routine, but a brilliant kaleidoscope of characters and appearances which often clash.
I have both weak and strong points in my character. I am certainly a bit ashamed of my weak points and I do my best to get rid of them. As for my strong features of character, I value and cherish them.
Everyone tells me that I take after my dad as I’m a good listener and very sociable. I am a complete extravert. I love people and the world around me. I understand them and make friends quite easily. Being open and communicative means broadening my mind and my views on the world. That’s why I like meeting new people and talking to them. I always try to be an open-minded and adaptable guy because our world is constantly changing.
One of my best traits is that I try to feel as happy and cheerful as I can most of the time. My friends often call me the life and soul of the party, with a good sense of humor, although I may sometimes be kind of shy. Anyone can be down or depressed when something sad happens. But if somebody hurts my feelings or makes me angry I just tend to ignore him or her and approach the things from the positive side. I really dislike rude and ignorant people but I rarely lose my temper because of them.
I would also describe my personality as generous. I take pleasure in sharing something with other people and I am ready to help them at any time. I am organized and punctual too and I am happy when things happen on time, according to the schedule. I am very hard-working and I am always busy. I don’t like to give up.
I’d say that my negative and the least appealing qualities are obstinacy and perfectionism. Sometimes I set too high standards when it comes to choosing something. I am often a hard person to please. I’m afraid my choosy character makes me lose some nice opportunities in my life.
In conclusion I would like to say that my personality qualities are both inherent and acquired. When I think of myself I often get confused about how differently I see myself. I am constantly trying to improve myself as a person.

When I see a person for the first time, I always pay attention to his or her appearance. Appearance is important today and I think it was important always. The person makes his first impression with his appearance. If he looks nice, elegant, if he takes care about nails, hands and hair, he makes good impression.
When I have to describe someone, I usually start with his appearance. The length and color of the hair, the color of the eye. I also pay attention if he is tall or small. You can also speak about his nose, hands, shoulders. Appearance for me is not only the face and body, but also the personality. If a person is positive and optimist, you can see smile on his face all the time. Smile is making our appearance more attractive.
Another important thing is the style of the person. Actually I think that every person should have his own style. If you are a housewife, student or businessmen then the style will be different.
I can also describe the hobby of the person. It’s gonna help you to understand if the person is active or passive, friendly or prefers to stay by himself. Our habits and personality are much more important than our appearance.
For example, I can say I am a positive person, so you will always see smile on my face. I have beautiful long black hair, Big brown eyes and small nose. Usually people make compliments when they see me for the first time. Remember that you have to describe a person in a good way, so it’s gonna help you to make a good impression about you.

and small lips. My hair is short because last week I was in the hairdressing
saloon where I’ve got a new hair-do. Generally I like it. My nature color of
hair is light brown. But a few days ago I dyed my hair and now it is dark-brown
with a cherry shade. My grandfather does not like either my hair-do or the
color of my hair but I don’t care. My hair is straight and thick, but when I
was a little girl I had curly hair. I like to be different and occasionally to
change something in my appearance.
I am often told that I look like my granny. But it
seems to me that I look like my mum a bit.
Generally I can’t say that I am beautiful but I also don’t
consider that I am ugly. Maybe I am pretty for somebody and plain, ordinary for
others. Everyone thinks in his own way.

Describing people: traits of character
There is no doubt
that all people have different character traits. Sometimes you
may think that you know a person’s character well just because
you have been friends for ages, but one particular situation can
show how wrong you were. In lots of cases people just don’t know
who they really are and what they are capable of. Anyway, each
of us has both negative and positive character traits and wants
to be a better person. In life, there is a constant battle
between these two traits.
As far as I am
concerned, I am emotional and easy-going. That’s why it is easy
for me to make new acquaintances. Besides, my friends say that I
am helpful, sympathetic and kind-hearted. Well, I am supportive
as well. No matter how busy I may be, I will always be there to
help if I am needed. As for my negative character traits, I am
lazy and stubborn. Besides, I am too touchy and vulnerable. I
dislike when people criticize me because I feel as if I must be
perfect. Another negative trait of character I dislike and
suffer from is my hot temper. I get angry very quickly and fly
into a rage. Sometimes I even can’t control myself when I argue
with anyone.
If you ask me to
describe a person whose character I like, I would tell you about
my best friend, Anna. She is sociable and cheerful. She is
always in high spirits. Her optimism always cheers me up.
Besides, she is clever, purposeful and hardworking. She is an
excellent student and already knows three foreign languages.
Moreover, she has a wide range of interests. She is fond of
music, reading and painting.
As for
characteristics which are the least appealing in a person, I
think it is envy and hypocrisy. Unfortunately, appearances are
often deceptive. It is true when they say, “Don’t judge a book
by its cover.” As for other negative characteristics I hate, I
can’t stand cruel and ruthless people. Moreover, I don’t trust
people who dislike animals. I find them cold-hearted.

Что касается меня, то я спокойная и
легкая в общении. Именно поэтому мне легко заводить новые
знакомства. Кроме того, мои друзья говорят, что я отзывчивая и
добродушная и всегда готова прийти на помощь. Я всегда и в любой
ситуации могу поддержать близких мне людей. Неважно, насколько я
могу быть занята, я с готовностью приду на помощь, когда во мне
больше всего нуждаются. Говоря о моих отрицательных чертах
характера, я ленивая и упрямая. Кроме того, я слишком ранимая и
чувствительная. Я не люблю, когда люди меня критикуют, потому
что мне все время кажется, что я должна быть идеальной во всем.
Еще одна моя отрицательная черта, от которой я страдаю, это
вспыльчивость. Я быстро выхожу из себя и часто даже не

своей лучшей подруге Анне. Она общительная и жизнерадостная. Она
