Throughout the history of the mankind people have always been trying to maintain the spiritual values. What are the spiritual values? They are love, faith, trust, patriotism, credit, industry, politeness and so on. It takes someone much time to finish this list. In my opinion, the friendship can also be added to the list of the spiritual values.
На протяжении всей истории человечества люди всегда старались сохранять духовные ценности. Что можно отнести к духовным ценностям? Любовь, веру, верность, патриотизм, доверие, трудолюбие, вежливость и так далее. Для завершения этого списка требуется много времени. На мой взгляд, дружба также может быть добавлена в список духовных ценностей.
What is the friendship, actually? Maybe, it is a bit hard to answer this question because different people identify it in different ways. If to speak about its broad sense, one can identify it as personal unselfish relationships between people. These relationships are based on love, trust, affinity and common interests. Most people prefer to refer mutuality, trust and patience to the main characteristics of the friendship.

I think all people have friends. Some people have a lot of friends and some people have only one but a good friend. As for me, I belong to the second group. I have many friends but only three of them I can name my best friends. One of my best friends is a girl I have known since the childhood. I can share all my secrets with her. The second friend is my group mate at the university. We have much in common. For example, she and I have common interests in literature, music and films. Maybe, it sounds a bit strange but the third friend is my husband. I trust him with my life. We have the same interests, the same outlook on life.

Let’s talk about friendship.
Friendship is a special relationship between people. People need this relationship because they expect help and comfort from each other. Those who have friends have less stress and live longer. Friendship is usually based on common interests and mutual understanding, true encouragement and sympathy.
They say “Friendship isn’t a big thing, it’s a million little things” and I agree. To me it means that friendship isn’t always about one big gesture of help. Instead, true friendship is about millions of ongoing little actions you do day in and day out, that show how much you care about and value your friend.
They say: “A person has just one true friend”. I think it’s possible to have more than one true friend. It’s hard to find a person who will share your whole life. People can change and their interests change, that’s why we can have more than one true friend during the life.
Muhammad Ali once said: “If you haven’t learnt the meaning of friendship, you really haven’t learnt anything”. Не meant that friendship is in some aspects more important than anything that you learn at school. He meant that nothing that you know matters if you do not understand friendship.
What rolе do friends play in your life? You can have a lot of acquaintances, they come and go, but a true friend is always there when you need a shoulder to cry on. Having a good friend can usually brighten a bad day and make you smile because that is what friends are for. If you feel depressed your friend will hang out with you to amuse you, to cheer you up and have a laugh with you. A good friend will not take offence at you if you disagree with him.
I have no friends among adults apart from my parents. I think that it’s easier to make friends among your peers. My best friend is of the same age with me.
I have a wide circle of friends who are on the same wavelength. I get on well with them because I respect their differences. It is fun to be with them all, but my special friend is _________. I met him/her when I mixed with my friends once after school. We’ve become inseparable since our first meeting. I really like him/her and we get on well. He/she accepts me as I am and doesn’t try to change me.

A real friend is always next tо you, you can always count on his support and attention. I can rely on my best friend in everything. _________ helps me to see the truth even if it hurts, he / she keeps my secrets and shares things with me. I know, I can turn to my friend in trouble and he / she will give me a hand when I can’t cope with a problem myself.
People usually become friends when they have much in common, when they have much to tell each other, when they trust each other and rely on each other. So, if you want to get acquainted with someone and understand if this person can become your friend, you may ask the following questions:
What music do you like? / What books do you read? / What TV programs do you prefer?
What’s your hobby?
What personal qualities do you appreciate in people?
If you want to understand if people are close friends, you can ask the same questions and compare the answers. Close friends will have similar answers.
I think it’s a bit easier to make friends when you 6-10 years, because children of this age are more outgoing and sociable. But I guess making friends doesn’t really depend on how old you are. If a person is friendly, it won’t be hard for him to get to know someone.
Making friends is not easy for some people and in some situations. These situations may be different – moving to a new school, moving to a new place, bullying at school, etc. Many teenagers are nervous about starting a conversation, because possible neglecting frightens them. To ease the tension, I’d advise not to be afraid of new people and not to think that all people around you must like you. If they don’t – it’s normal. You are simply different kinds of people. Try to find a group of your kind and make friends with them.
Nowadays teenagers have many virtual friends in contact or Facebook. I can’t name those friends real ones. Friends in social networks can have much in common, but virtual friendship can’t replace real communication when you spend time together.
Nowadays people prefer to have more money than many friends. They say that a person with money can afford everything and can solve any problem. I am sure that money can’t buy you real friends. And there are really such situations when you need friends and their emotional support more than money. That’s why I prefer to have both money and real friends.

Мухаммад Али сказал однажды: “Если ты не познал значения дружбы, ты не познал ничего”. Он имел в виду, что дружба в некоторых аспектах даже более важна, чем все, чему нас учат в школе. Он имел в виду, что все наши знания ничего не стоят, если мы не постигли значения дружбы.

Заводить друзей не просто для некоторых людей и в некоторых ситуациях. Эти ситуации могут быть разными – переезд в новую школу, переезд на новое место, издевательства в школе и др. Многие подростки озабочены тем, как начать разговор, ведь возможное пренебрежение их персоной пугает. Чтобы снять напряженность, я бы посоветовал не бояться новых людей и не думать, что все люди вокруг должны непременно вас полюбить. Если вы кому-то не нравитесь – это нормально. Вы просто разные люди. Попробуйте найти группу по интересам и подружиться.
В настоящее время подростки имеют много виртуальных друзей в вконтакте или Facebook. Я не могу назвать таких друзей настоящими. Друзья в социальных сетях могут иметь много общего, но виртуальная дружба не может заменить реального общения и совместного времяпрепровождения.
В настоящее время люди предпочитают иметь много денег, а не друзей. Говорят, что человек с деньгами может позволить себе все и может решить любую проблему. Я уверен, что за деньги нельзя купить настоящих друзей. И действительно, существуют такие ситуации, когда вам больше нужны друзья и их эмоциональная поддержка, а не деньги. Вот почему я предпочитаю иметь и то и другое)))).

It isn’t difficult to find friends, but not everyone can stay for a lifelong period. Those, who stay, become the closest people for us. Usually people meet, get acquainted, communicate and as a result become friends. However, only time can show, whether the friendship is strong or not. For me friendship is not only communication, but support, understanding and sympathy. If your friends are real, they never betray you, they never leave you in trouble, they always listen to your problems and try to help when needed. I have lots of good friends, but two of them are the best. Their names are Lana and Rita. I can always rely on them and share my thoughts with them. We spend lots of time together. I simply can’t imagine life without these people. They make my life brighter and more interesting. When I’m bored, I can always phone my friends and ask them to come over. Sometimes we go to the cinema, sometimes to the theatre or to the museum. For me they are a part of my family. I fully trust them and I know that they would do anything for me. For example, Lana has once saved my life. When we were both twelve, we went to swim in the lake. While we were swimming, I had a leg cramp. Nobody noticed that I couldn’t swim to the shore, but Lana did and she helped me to get out. Such things can happen to anyone, so we always try to be caring and attentive to each other. The most important feeling that exists between friends is trust. It never appears from nowhere, it’s a result of communication, support in difficult situations, long-lasting friendship. Respect is also very important. It means that you don’t criticize your friend’s lifestyle, you always try to understand him, discuss problems with him and explain to him your feelings and emotions. Never forget to discuss important issues with your best friend or friends, because reservations can lead into the end of friendship.
I have many good friends, but two of them are the best. Their names are Annie and Natalie. They make my life brighter and more interesting. When I’m bored, I can always call my them and ask to come over and have a party. Once a month we go to the cinema or to the theatre, we call it “trinity time”. I consider them to be a part of my family. We’ve known each other for more than 20 years. I fully trust them and I know that they would do anything for me. We are always caring and attentive to each other. I know that it’s not easy to find a real friendship. I have met lots of fake friends as well. So, now I try to appreciate the relations that I have with my true ones.
I want to finish this topic with my favorite quote, “Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you; spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life.”

Те, у кого есть друзья, подвержены меньшему стрессу и живут дольше. Дружба обычно основывается на общих интересах и взаимопонимании, подлинной поддержке и сочувствии. Обычно люди встречаются, знакомятся, общаются и в результате становятся друзьями. Но только время может показать, сильна ли эта дружба или нет. Самое важное чувство, которое существует между друзьями — это доверие. Оно не появляется из ниоткуда, это результат общения, поддержки в трудных ситуациях, долговременной дружбы. Уважение также очень важно. Это означает, что вы не критикуете образ жизни своего друга, вы всегда пытаетесь его понять, обсуждаете с ним проблемы и объясняете ему свои чувства и эмоции. Никогда не забывайте обсуждать важные вопросы с вашим лучшим другом или друзьями, потому что недомолвки могут привести к концу дружбы.

What is friendship? Friendship is a state of human spirit.
People can’t live without friendship, they feel lonely and unhappy without it .Friendship makes wonders. I believe that everyone can be a friend, a child and an adult.
A true friend will never betray and will always help you, if you are in trouble. He never envies you. But we shouldn`t demand much from our friends, because nobody is perfect.
Real friendship is rare. Many people who have not got friends often buy cats, dogs, rabbits or hamsters. Pets are like true friends: faithful, understanding and besides they can listen to them attentively.
There are a lot of proverbs and fairy tales about friendship. I like such proverbs as “A friend in need is a friend indeed” and “A friend is never known till needed”. All amazing events and adventures in children’s stories happen only with friends. We remember books “The wizard of the Emerald town” by A.Volkov, “The nice adventures” by B.Ockudzhava, “Denis’s stories” by V.Dragynsky and stories by N.Nosov. Main characters of these books can fight with enemies and help each other in difficult situations only if they are together.

Настоящая дружба – большая редкость в наше время. Может быть из-за этого люди часто заводят котов, собак, кроликов или хомячков. Домашние животные, как настоящие друзья: преданные и понимающие, кроме того, они могут слушать внимательно.
Дружбе посвящены многие пословицы и сказки. Мне нравятся пословицы: Друг познается в беде и Без беды друга не узнаешь. Все удивительные события и приключения в детских рассказах случаются только с друзьями. Мы помним книги «Волшебник Изумрудного города» А. Волкова, «Прелестные приключения» Б. Окуджавы, «Денискины рассказы» В. Драгунского и рассказы Н. Носова. Только вместе главные герои этих книг сражаются с врагами и помогают друг другу в трудных ситуациях.
What is friendship? Some people will say that it is a feeling of mutual liking between two or more people, other will add that it is a state when one person understands and supports the other one.
To my mind friendship can be compared to a tree. Its seed should find good soil and under good conditions it will grow into a tree. As the years go by the tree stands firmer and firmer on the ground. And if it is strong enough, it will survive all the storms and winds. But to help it, we should take care of it and love it.
The most important feeling that exists between friends is trust. It newer appears by itself, it’s the result of a long friendship and this feeling is very valuable. Respect and tolerance are also very important; it means that you don’t criticize your friend’s way of living, but try to understand him, discuss problems with him and explain to him what you think is good and what is bad. A friend is a person who can help you in time, lend you any sum of money for a long period of time without any percent, whom you can wake up in the middle of the night just to say you feel worried or who is eager to do everything for you waiting nothing in return, who supports you in all your beginnings and who will never betray you.
Lucky are those people who have friends. I’m happy to have lots of friends, too. Some of them are very close, some are less. But all of them make my life interesting and enjoyable.
I appreciate friendship. It makes happiness grow brighter and grief less painful, because we have friends to share it with. When we doubt our ability to fulfill our aspiration or to reach our secret goal it is our best friend who gives us a spark of assurance. And we trust our friends and we are grateful to them. Friendship is a bridge between loneliness and fellowship, frustration and confidence, despair and hope, setbacks and success. That’s why a true friend is a priceless gift. They are rich who have true friends, says a proverb and I agree.

Once upon a time there was a young man whose name was Hans. He lived alone in little house. He had a lovely garden where he worked every day. His garden was the best in the village and there were a lot of beautiful flowers in it.
Little Hans had a devoted friend, big Hugh the Miller. Indeed, the rich Miller was so devoted to little Hans, that he always picked some flowers or took some fruit when he was passing Han’s garden.
“Real friends must have everything in common,” the Miller used to say, and Hans smiled and felt very proud that a friend with such noble ideas.
Sometimes the neighbours were surprised that the rich Miller never gave little Hans anything, but Hans never thought about these things. He worked and worked in his garden. In spring, summer and autumn he was very happy. But in winter he had no flowers or fruit to sell at the market, and he was often very hungry and cold. He was also very lonely, because the Miller never came to visit him in winter.
“There is no good in my going to see little Hans in winter,” the Miller used to say his Wife, “Because when people are in trouble, you must leave them alone. That is my idea about friendship, and I am sure I am right. So I shall wait till spring comes, and then I shall go to see him, and he will give me a large basket of flowers, and that will make him happy.”
The Miller’s Wife sat in her comfortable arm-chair near the fire. “It is very pleasant,” she said. “to hear how you talk about friendship.”
“But can’t we invite little Hans to our house?” said the Miller’s son. “If poor Hans is in trouble, I will give him half my supper and show him my white rabbits.”
“What a silly boy you are!” cried the Miller. “If Hans comes here and sees our warm fire and our good supper, he may get envious, and envy is a terrible thing. Besides, maybe he will ask me to give him some flour, and I cannot do that! Flour is one thing and friendship is another.”

Throughout the history of the mankind people have always been trying to maintain the spiritual values. What are the spiritual values? They are love, faith, trust, patriotism, credit, industry, politeness and so on. It takes someone much time to finish this list. In my opinion, the friendship can also be added to the list of the spiritual values.
На протяжении всей истории человечества люди всегда старались сохранять духовные ценности. Что можно отнести к духовным ценностям? Любовь, веру, верность, патриотизм, доверие, трудолюбие, вежливость и так далее. Для завершения этого списка требуется много времени. На мой взгляд, дружба также может быть добавлена в список духовных ценностей.
What is the friendship, actually? Maybe, it is a bit hard to answer this question because different people identify it in different ways. If to speak about its broad sense, one can identify it as personal unselfish relationships between people. These relationships are based on love, trust, affinity and common interests. Most people prefer to refer mutuality, trust and patience to the main characteristics of the friendship.

I think all people have friends. Some people have a lot of friends and some people have only one but a good friend. As for me, I belong to the second group. I have many friends but only three of them I can name my best friends. One of my best friends is a girl I have known since the childhood. I can share all my secrets with her. The second friend is my group mate at the university. We have much in common. For example, she and I have common interests in literature, music and films. Maybe, it sounds a bit strange but the third friend is my husband. I trust him with my life. We have the same interests, the same outlook on life.

Let’s talk about friendship.
Friendship is a special relationship between people. People need this relationship because they expect help and comfort from each other. Those who have friends have less stress and live longer. Friendship is usually based on common interests and mutual understanding, true encouragement and sympathy.
They say “Friendship isn’t a big thing, it’s a million little things” and I agree. To me it means that friendship isn’t always about one big gesture of help. Instead, true friendship is about millions of ongoing little actions you do day in and day out, that show how much you care about and value your friend.
They say: “A person has just one true friend”. I think it’s possible to have more than one true friend. It’s hard to find a person who will share your whole life. People can change and their interests change, that’s why we can have more than one true friend during the life.
Muhammad Ali once said: “If you haven’t learnt the meaning of friendship, you really haven’t learnt anything”. Не meant that friendship is in some aspects more important than anything that you learn at school. He meant that nothing that you know matters if you do not understand friendship.
What rolе do friends play in your life? You can have a lot of acquaintances, they come and go, but a true friend is always there when you need a shoulder to cry on. Having a good friend can usually brighten a bad day and make you smile because that is what friends are for. If you feel depressed your friend will hang out with you to amuse you, to cheer you up and have a laugh with you. A good friend will not take offence at you if you disagree with him.
I have no friends among adults apart from my parents. I think that it’s easier to make friends among your peers. My best friend is of the same age with me.
I have a wide circle of friends who are on the same wavelength. I get on well with them because I respect their differences. It is fun to be with them all, but my special friend is _________. I met him/her when I mixed with my friends once after school. We’ve become inseparable since our first meeting. I really like him/her and we get on well. He/she accepts me as I am and doesn’t try to change me.

People usually become friends when they have much in common, when they have much to tell each other, when they trust each other and rely on each other. So, if you want to get acquainted with someone and understand if this person can become your friend, you may ask the following questions:
What music do you like? / What books do you read? / What TV programs do you prefer?
What’s your hobby?
What personal qualities do you appreciate in people?
If you want to understand if people are close friends, you can ask the same questions and compare the answers. Close friends will have similar answers.
I think it’s a bit easier to make friends when you 6-10 years, because children of this age are more outgoing and sociable. But I guess making friends doesn’t really depend on how old you are. If a person is friendly, it won’t be hard for him to get to know someone.
Making friends is not easy for some people and in some situations. These situations may be different – moving to a new school, moving to a new place, bullying at school, etc. Many teenagers are nervous about starting a conversation, because possible neglecting frightens them. To ease the tension, I’d advise not to be afraid of new people and not to think that all people around you must like you. If they don’t – it’s normal. You are simply different kinds of people. Try to find a group of your kind and make friends with them.
Nowadays teenagers have many virtual friends in contact or Facebook. I can’t name those friends real ones. Friends in social networks can have much in common, but virtual friendship can’t replace real communication when you spend time together.
Nowadays people prefer to have more money than many friends. They say that a person with money can afford everything and can solve any problem. I am sure that money can’t buy you real friends. And there are really such situations when you need friends and their emotional support more than money. That’s why I prefer to have both money and real friends.

Заводить друзей не просто для некоторых людей и в некоторых ситуациях. Эти ситуации могут быть разными – переезд в новую школу, переезд на новое место, издевательства в школе и др. Многие подростки озабочены тем, как начать разговор, ведь возможное пренебрежение их персоной пугает. Чтобы снять напряженность, я бы посоветовал не бояться новых людей и не думать, что все люди вокруг должны непременно вас полюбить. Если вы кому-то не нравитесь – это нормально. Вы просто разные люди. Попробуйте найти группу по интересам и подружиться.
В настоящее время подростки имеют много виртуальных друзей в вконтакте или Facebook. Я не могу назвать таких друзей настоящими. Друзья в социальных сетях могут иметь много общего, но виртуальная дружба не может заменить реального общения и совместного времяпрепровождения.
В настоящее время люди предпочитают иметь много денег, а не друзей. Говорят, что человек с деньгами может позволить себе все и может решить любую проблему. Я уверен, что за деньги нельзя купить настоящих друзей. И действительно, существуют такие ситуации, когда вам больше нужны друзья и их эмоциональная поддержка, а не деньги. Вот почему я предпочитаю иметь и то и другое)))).

One of the most valuable things in life is friendship. It is extremely important for people to have someone, who they can trust. It isn’t difficult to find friends, but not everyone can stay for a lifelong period. Those, who stay, become the closest people for us. Usually people meet, get acquainted, communicate and as a result become friends. However, only time can show, whether the friendship is strong or not. For me friendship is not only communication, but support, understanding and sympathy. If your friends are real, they never betray you, they never leave you in trouble, they always listen to your problems and try to help when needed. I have lots of good friends, but two of them are the best. Their names are Lana and Rita. I can always rely on them and share my thoughts with them. We spend lots of time together. I simply can’t imagine life without these people. They make my life brighter and more interesting. When I’m bored, I can always phone my friends and ask them to come over. Sometimes we go to the cinema, sometimes to the theatre or to the museum. For me they are a part of my family. I fully trust them and I know that they would do anything for me. For example, Lana has once saved my life. When we were both twelve, we went to swim in the lake. While we were swimming, I had a leg cramp. Nobody noticed that I couldn’t swim to the shore, but Lana did and she helped me to get out. Such things can happen to anyone, so we always try to be caring and attentive to each other. I know that it’s not easy to find a real friendship. I have met lots of false friends as well. So, now I try to appreciate the relations I have with my true friends.

Respect is also very important. It means that you don’t criticize your friend’s lifestyle, you always try to understand him, discuss problems with him and explain to him your feelings and emotions. Never forget to discuss important issues with your best friend or friends, because reservations can lead into the end of friendship.
I have many good friends, but two of them are the best. Their names are Annie and Natalie. They make my life brighter and more interesting. When I’m bored, I can always call my them and ask to come over and have a party. Once a month we go to the cinema or to the theatre, we call it “trinity time”. I consider them to be a part of my family. We’ve known each other for more than 20 years. I fully trust them and I know that they would do anything for me. We are always caring and attentive to each other. I know that it’s not easy to find a real friendship. I have met lots of fake friends as well. So, now I try to appreciate the relations that I have with my true ones.
I want to finish this topic with my favorite quote, “Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you; spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life.”

Самое важное чувство, которое существует между друзьями — это доверие. Оно не появляется из ниоткуда, это результат общения, поддержки в трудных ситуациях, долговременной дружбы. Уважение также очень важно. Это означает, что вы не критикуете образ жизни своего друга, вы всегда пытаетесь его понять, обсуждаете с ним проблемы и объясняете ему свои чувства и эмоции. One of the most valuable things in life is friendship. It is extremely important for people to have someone, who they can trust. It isn’t difficult to find friends, but not everyone can stay for a lifelong period. Those, who stay, become the closest people for us. Usually people meet, get acquainted, communicate and as a result become friends. However, only time can show, whether the friendship is strong or not.
For me friendship is not only communication, but support, understanding and sympathy. If your friends are real, they never betray you, they never leave you in trouble, they always listen to your problems and try to help when needed.
I have lots of good friends, but two of them are the best. Their names are Louisa and Cathy. I can always rely on them and share my thoughts with them. We spend lots of time together. I simply can’t imagine life without these people. They make my life brighter and more interesting. When I’m bored, I can always phone my friends and ask them to come over. Sometimes we go to the cinema, sometimes to the theatre or to the museum. For me they are a part of my family. I fully trust them and I know that they would do anything for me. For example, Louisa has once saved my life. When we were both eleven, we went to swim in the lake. While we were swimming, I had a leg cramp. Nobody noticed that I couldn’t swim to the shore, but Louisa did and she helped me to get out. Such things can happen to anyone, so we always try to be caring and attentive to each other.
I know that it’s not easy to find a real friendship. I have met lots of false friends as well. So, now I try to appreciate the relations I have with my true friends.

Тем не менее, только время покажет, является ли эта дружба крепкой или нет.
Для меня дружба – это не только общение, а также поддержка, понимание и сопереживание. Если ваши друзья настоящие, они никогда не предадут вас, они никогда не оставят вас в беде, они всегда выслушают ваши проблемы и попытаются помочь, когда необходимо.
У меня много хороших подруг, но две из них лучшие. Их зовут Луиза и Кэти. Я всегда могу положиться на них и поделиться своими мыслями с ними. Мы проводим много времени вместе. Я просто не могу представить свою жизнь без этих людей. Они делают мою жизнь ярче и интереснее. Когда мне скучно, я всегда могу позвонить своим друзьям и попросить их приехать. Иногда мы идем в кино, иногда в театр или в музей. Для меня они словно часть моей семьи. Я полностью доверяю им, и знаю, что они готовы ради меня на многое. Например, Луиза когда-то спасла мне жизнь. Когда нам обеим было по одиннадцать лет, мы пошли купаться в озере. Пока мы плавали, у меня свело ногу. Никто не заметил, что я не могу добраться до берега, но Луиза заметила и помогла мне выбраться. What is friendship? Friendship is a state of human spirit.
People can’t live without friendship, they feel lonely and unhappy without it .Friendship makes wonders. I believe that everyone can be a friend, a child and an adult.
A true friend will never betray and will always help you, if you are in trouble. He never envies you. But we shouldn`t demand much from our friends, because nobody is perfect.
Real friendship is rare. Many people who have not got friends often buy cats, dogs, rabbits or hamsters. Pets are like true friends: faithful, understanding and besides they can listen to them attentively.
There are a lot of proverbs and fairy tales about friendship. I like such proverbs as “A friend in need is a friend indeed” and “A friend is never known till needed”. All amazing events and adventures in children’s stories happen only with friends. We remember books “The wizard of the Emerald town” by A.Volkov, “The nice adventures” by B.Ockudzhava, “Denis’s stories” by V.Dragynsky and stories by N.Nosov. Main characters of these books can fight with enemies and help each other in difficult situations only if they are together.

Жить без дружбы люди не могут, без нее они чувствуют себя одинокими и несчастными. Дружба способна творить чудеса. Я верю, что каждый способен быть другом, как ребенок, так и взрослый.
Настоящий друг никогда не предаст и всегда поможет вам, если у вас будут проблемы. Он никогда не завидует вам. Мы не должны требовать многого от друзей, потому что никто не совершенен.
Настоящая дружба – большая редкость в наше время. Может быть из-за этого люди часто заводят котов, собак, кроликов или хомячков. Домашние животные, как настоящие друзья: преданные и понимающие, кроме того, они могут слушать внимательно.
Дружбе посвящены многие пословицы и сказки. Мне нравятся пословицы: Друг познается в беде и Без беды друга не узнаешь. Все удивительные события и приключения в детских рассказах случаются только с друзьями. Мы помним книги «Волшебник Изумрудного города» А. Волкова, «Прелестные приключения» Б. Окуджавы, «Денискины рассказы» В. Драгунского и рассказы Н. Носова. Только вместе главные герои этих книг сражаются с врагами и помогают друг другу в трудных ситуациях.
What is friendship? Some people will say that it is a feeling of mutual liking between two or more people, other will add that it is a state when one person understands and supports the other one.
To my mind friendship can be compared to a tree. Its seed should find good soil and under good conditions it will grow into a tree. As the years go by the tree stands firmer and firmer on the ground. And if it is strong enough, it will survive all the storms and winds. But to help it, we should take care of it and love it.
The most important feeling that exists between friends is trust. It newer appears by itself, it’s the result of a long friendship and this feeling is very valuable. Respect and tolerance are also very important; it means that you don’t criticize your friend’s way of living, but try to understand him, discuss problems with him and explain to him what you think is good and what is bad. A friend is a person who can help you in time, lend you any sum of money for a long period of time without any percent, whom you can wake up in the middle of the night just to say you feel worried or who is eager to do everything for you waiting nothing in return, who supports you in all your beginnings and who will never betray you.
Lucky are those people who have friends. I’m happy to have lots of friends, too. Some of them are very close, some are less. But all of them make my life interesting and enjoyable.
I appreciate friendship. It makes happiness grow brighter and grief less painful, because we have friends to share it with. When we doubt our ability to fulfill our aspiration or to reach our secret goal it is our best friend who gives us a spark of assurance. And we trust our friends and we are grateful to them. Friendship is a bridge between loneliness and fellowship, frustration and confidence, despair and hope, setbacks and success. That’s why a true friend is a priceless gift. They are rich who have true friends, says a proverb and I agree.

I can safely say that Andrew is my best friend. He has an amazing sense of humor and he can easily make me laugh even when I have a bad day. He is as good as his word. Andrew is also good at keeping secrets. I like that he is a reliable person and he always supports me. We try to help each other. Of course we sometimes can argue or quarrel, but not for too long. We try to forgive each other.

I cannot imagine my life without Andrew. I appreciate our friendship and the fact that we are trying to help each other, and that we can talk about everything. Our friendship makes me happy.

The Devoted Friend.
Once upon a time there was a young man whose name was Hans. He lived alone in little house. He had a lovely garden where he worked every day. His garden was the best in the village and there were a lot of beautiful flowers in it.
Little Hans had a devoted friend, big Hugh the Miller. Indeed, the rich Miller was so devoted to little Hans, that he always picked some flowers or took some fruit when he was passing Han’s garden.
“Real friends must have everything in common,” the Miller used to say, and Hans smiled and felt very proud that a friend with such noble ideas.
Sometimes the neighbours were surprised that the rich Miller never gave little Hans anything, but Hans never thought about these things. He worked and worked in his garden. In spring, summer and autumn he was very happy. But in winter he had no flowers or fruit to sell at the market, and he was often very hungry and cold. He was also very lonely, because the Miller never came to visit him in winter.
“There is no good in my going to see little Hans in winter,” the Miller used to say his Wife, “Because when people are in trouble, you must leave them alone. That is my idea about friendship, and I am sure I am right. So I shall wait till spring comes, and then I shall go to see him, and he will give me a large basket of flowers, and that will make him happy.”
The Miller’s Wife sat in her comfortable arm-chair near the fire. “It is very pleasant,” she said. “to hear how you talk about friendship.”
“But can’t we invite little Hans to our house?” said the Miller’s son. “If poor Hans is in trouble, I will give him half my supper and show him my white rabbits.”
“What a silly boy you are!” cried the Miller. “If Hans comes here and sees our warm fire and our good supper, he may get envious, and envy is a terrible thing. Besides, maybe he will ask me to give him some flour, and I cannot do that! Flour is one thing and friendship is another.”

Формат и правила написания сочинения “expressing opinion” ЭССЕ
• Сочинение “expressing opinion” пишется в формальном (деловом) стиле.
• В данном типе сочинения требуется выразить свою точку зрения на заданную тему, а так же привести противоположные вашей точки зрения других людей и объяснить, почему вы с ними не согласны. Ваше мнение должно быть четко сформулировано и подкреплено примерами или доказательствами.
• Объем сочинения 200-250 слов (минимум 180 слов, максимум 275)
• В сочинении должны активно использоваться конструкции типа «In my opinion», «I think»,«I_believe»
• Необходимо использование вводных слов и конструкций типа “On the one hand, on the other hand”…, слов – связок (Nevertheless, Moreover, Despite…)
• Запрещается использование сокращения, типа “I’m”, “they’re” “don’t”, “can’t” (иначе будет снижен балл за организацию сочинения)

1 абзац. Привести 2-3 аргумента, подтверждающих вашу точку зрения, подкрепляя их примерами или доказательствами.
Во втором абзаце вы должны придерживаться только ОДНОЙ точки зрения, например: Mobile phones in my opinion are very useful devices. ИЛИ I consider the mobile phone to be a harmful and useless invention.
Необходимо привести 2-3 аргумента с доказательствами в поддержку собственного мнения
2 абзац. Привести противоположные точки зрения (1-2), и объяснить, почему вы с ними НЕ согласны. Пример: However, some people think that mobile phones not only keep you in touch with your relatives and friends but also provide you with a great number of facilities. Ваши контраргументы мнению других людей не должны повторять 2ой абзац.
3) Conclusion (заключение)
Необходимо сделать вывод, обратившись к заданной в 1-м параграфе теме, что существуют 2 точки зрения на проблему, а также подтвердить собственную точку зрения.

(Вступление) Family is a basic constituent of any nation. The well-being of the nation depends on the well-being of each family. A lot of factors make a family happy, and children are among of them. But how many children does a family need to be perfectly happy?
(Собственное мнение) In my opinion, parents should have three children. I consider it to be the optimum number of kids. (Аргументы) Firstly, in this case parents contribute to population growth in the country. The demographic depression is really the case of many countries. Secondly, the children grown not all alone are more sociable and less egoistic. Thirdly, a child from a big family has a better chance to succeed in life because his siblings are willing to help.
(Противоположная точка зрения) There is no doubt that big families have their disadvantages as well. (Аргументы) In the first place, it is worth mentioning that big families are noisy. It’s pretty hard to find peace and quiet. In this respect, small families receive a benefit. In addition to it, the more children you have, the more conflicts you get. Your children may have vastly different interests. For example, some want to read a book and others switch on the television at the same time. If parents learn their children how to get along with each other critical moments will be avoided.
(Заключение) To sum it up, it goes without saying that a big family is good. But, you must regard things in a sober light. It would be sensible to assess the suitability for having children first. If you have enough time, patience, wisdom, and money, don’t hesitate to give birth to children.

Введение в тему(Вступление)In today’s world of fierce competition, it is important for young people to get well-prepared for the challenges of the future. Thus the institution of gap year can be regarded as a step in the right direction though it is also not without its problems.
Аргументы “за” In its favour, the gap year seems to be useful psychologically as it helps young people understand their needs and interest better before they actually commit themselves to any particular career path. Besides, the gap year has educational advantages because it offers a lot of opportunities to learn about the world and one’s own place in it. For all these reasons, the gap year can be regarded as a positive social institution.
Аргументы “против» However, as critics are quick to point out, the gap year can in fact be harmful as it interrupts with the rhythm of learning and often makes it difficult for students to return to their studies. Apart from that, unfortunately not every young person can afford totravel around the world and many of them end up sitting around at home, which can be very demotivating.
(Заключение) All in all, the gap year may arouse mixed feelings, but still thousands of people every year take a year off. One can only hope they will use it fruitfully, minimizing the dangers and taking full advantage of its benefits.
