I think keeping health is very important for everyone. Moreover health is one of the most urgent problems in the world now. Why is that so? There is nothing more important than health. «Health is above wealth» wise people say, because you can`t be good at your studies or work well if you don`t take care of your health. No doubt, everybody wants to live a long healthy life. Unfortunately, now it has become a dream. Because of the polluted environment people suffer a lot of diseases. And the best way to be healthy is to go in for sports. But many people don`t take enough exercise to keep themselves healthy. As far as I know many men and women are overweight. The most spreading illness today is obesity. One of the reasons is wrong food. Fast food is becoming more popular. If you want to be healthy and slim you should try to shorten fat products and fast food. It`s necessary to eat the right food. I recommend old and young to do and play sports because it makes them strong and energetic. Keeping fit is very trendy today. People shou

So I can say if you want to be healthy and keep fit:

People nowadays are more health-conscious than they used to be. They understand that good health is above wealth.
To be healthy we should avoid different bad habits that can affect our health. In my opinion, smoking and drinking too much alcohol, are the worst ones. It’s common knowledge that smoking and drinking can shorten our lives dramatically. Smoking, for example, causes a number of heart and lung diseases, such as pneumonia, emphysema and cancer. Besides, it makes your teeth yellow and skin unhealthy. Fortunately, in recent years smoking has received a lot of bad publicity, and fewer people smoke nowadays. Some companies don’t employ people who are smokers. Smoking has been banned in most public places because everyone agrees it does harm to our health. I don’t smoke, because I don’t want to have unhealthy skin and teeth and die young.
Smoking and drinking are joined by less dangerous habits, such as skipping meals, eating unhealthy food, or even overeating. Of course, they are not quite as deadly as smoking or drinking alcohol, but they also affect our health.
If we eat too much, we’ll become obese, and obesity leads to serious health problems. A lot of people like drinking coca cola and coffee, and enjoy pizzas and hamburgers. But what is tasty is not always healthy. Fast food makes you fat, that’s why Americans are the fattest people in the world.
In recent years eating habits have undergone a change. People are encouraged to eat less fat and more fibre. Fat is believed to be one of the major causes of obesity and heart disease. High fibre and low fat foods can now be found in all shops and supermarkets. Salads, beans, and fruit have taken the place of steak and ice cream. The fashion for health food is growing all the time.
Many people feel they are too fat, even if their doctors disagree. And a lot of people try to improve their fitness. There are a lot of ways to lose weight and avoid gaining it. Perhaps the most popular of them is following a diet. If you want to lose weight, you should cut out snacks and desserts, and cut down on fat. People have also become more aware of calories, the energy value of food. Some people count the number of calories they eat every day; so that they can try to take in fewer calories and lose weight. This is called a calorie-controlled diet. Manufacturers are increasingly producing special foods with fewer calories for slimmers.
But excessive dieting may be dangerous, too. Some people refuse to eat meat as they consider it harmful. They say a vegetarian diet reduces the risk of cancer and vegetarians live longer than others. I can’t agree with them, because meat is an excellent source of good nutrition. In my opinion, it’s wrong to put down a food simply because excessive amounts can cause health problems. Consumed in moderate amounts, meat is perfectly good for our health.
To my mind, the only way to stay healthy and to keep fit is by going in for sports. Among the benefits of regular exercise are a healthier heart, stronger bones, quicker reaction times and more resistance to various illnesses. Besides, you can eat and drink as much as you want because you are burning it all off.
To be healthy, it is also very important to spend a lot of time in the open air. It is useful to go for a walk before going to bed, or to air the room.
I think it is very important to be fit and healthy, and it is necessary to take care of your health. Being fat, in fact, can cause real problems. It is harder for fat people to get a good job, or even to make friends. If you want to do well, you must be thin. That’s why I go in for sports on a regular basis. I have been doing aerobics for three years and I feel great. I am not enthusiastic about strict dieting, but I try to eat only low-fat food, and fruit and vegetables which are rich in vitamins.
Personally I believe that regularity in life promotes our health. Sleeping eight or nine hours, getting up early, regular meals, a healthy diet and going in for sports is really a good way to live.

Good afternoon, dear students! Today we are having our final lesson
on the topic “Healthy Way of Life”. For three weeks you have been
working on the projects. Today you are going to present the result of
your joint work. We hope that you will show your speaking skills,
cooperative skills, will show your understanding of the proverb
‘Health is above wealth’.
As
you remember, at our first lesson of this theme we held a survey
among the 10th formers.
The children chose the most vital aspects of healthy way of life and
picked out the problems concerning their health. Having analyzed
their opinion, we found out the following three major points: bad
habits, food and stress. As far as we have three groups in our class,
each group chose a problem for studying.

discussing these problems let’s look around. We see some quotations

food. The proverb says: “We are what we eat ” In this cosmic
world which we live in, the thing we neglect all to off is nutrition.
Food supplies three fundamental body needs: need for energy, need for
new tissue growth and tissue repair, need to regulate metabolic
function.
In
particular, the types of food that we eat can influence our moods.
Eating food like bread, cereal, rice makes us feel calm. Chocolate
can lift our spirits and make us feel happier. Other foods, such as
coffee, eggs, sugar, can have a negative effect on us. When you feel
stressed, try a little bread and a glass of milk and you will feel
relaxed.
Have
you ever heard anything about junk food? I shall try to convince you
that it is harmful for our health and stomach. In today’s
fast-moving world, people have less and less time to spend eating,
let alone cooking. It is probably for this reason that junk food is
so popular.
Recent
researches have shown that people who prefer junk food gain excess
weight. This is true because you tend to eat more, as junk food is
less satisfying and lower in vital nutrients.

The problem of food is closely connected with dieting. We all want to
be slim. We’ve got some information about dieting: whether it is a
good thing or not.
The
term dieting most often refers to the revision of food intake in
order to lose weight. Diets are also observed for a wide range of
medical reasons.
What
do 100 calories a day correspond to? It’s easy to feed 100 calories
to the body but difficult to burn them, as the drawings illustrate.
Variants
of burning calories are:
1)
2 km walk;
2)
5 min of skiing at competition speed;
3)
4 km of cycling;
4)
15 min of tennis (easy pace);
5)
30 min of gardening.
You
should count your calories if you want to have a good figure.
There
are a number of problems connected with dieting. Low diets, for
example, restrict the amount of bread, sugar, and grains while
maintaining a normal amount of proteins and fats. Most people
experience low blood pressure after only a few days on such diets.
Diets
high in fats are harmful for people with heart disease.
High
proteins diets can be kept for only a short period of time and are
dangerous for anyone with diabetes and other medical problems.
There
is a serious problem of starvation, because it can lead to coma. It
can be practiced only under strict medical supervision.

Now we’d like to acquaint you with such a disease as anorexia.
Anorexia
is a new illness and seems to be caused by the society we live in,
which judges us on our appearance. The media encourage us to try to
be slim and beautiful. Each year there are to be at least 2000 new
cases of anorexia. Most anorexics are females in their teens and
twenties who suffer from a distorted self image: either slim or
attractive they may appear to others. Though hungry, anorexics
attempt to gain control of their lives by denying eating.

We are sure you know such term as vegetarianism. We’ll tell you the
history of it and reveal the advantages and disadvantages of it.
Vegetarianism
is an ancient custom. During the 19th century
the movement began to produce results even among non-vegetarians. By
the early 20th century

countries; such foods as peanut butter and corn flakes were invented
by vegetarians in the United States.
The
vegetarian movement as a whole was carried forward by individuals,
such as Leo Tolstoy and George Bernard Show, and by certain religious
sects.
Humanitarian
vegetarians refuse meat because they believe that killing of animals
is unnecessary or cruel. People who are keen on vegetarianism for
health reasons believe that meat is harmful to the human body and
that vegetable diet is more effective.
Purist
vegetarians reject all foods that are derived from animals, including
dairy products such as eggs, milk, cheese and butter.

There is nothing more expensive than our health. It goes without saying (без сомнения) that we have to keep fit. It means to keep to a diet, to eat healthy food – fruit, vegetables, lots of salad. In fact, you may eat anything you’d like but not too much. Alcohol [´?lk?hol] and smoking do a lot of harm to your health. Besides, going in for sports is a good way to be well.
People should follow some rules to keep fit. I try to take regular exercises and a cool shower. I clean my teeth twice a day and wash my hands before meals.
That’s why I hardly ever suffer from the flu, though once or twice a year I catch a serious cold. When it happens I feel some pain in my body and I am running a high temperature.
Last time I was sick in autumn. I came home and felt I had fallen ill. I had a terrible headache, a sore throat, it hurt me to swallow. Besides, I was sneezing and coughing all the time. My mother called the doctor. When the doctor came, she began to examine me. She felt my pulse, listened to my lungs and heart and prescribed some medicine for the fever. I had to stay in bed for a few days and take the pills three times a day after meals. She said I should drink warm milk with butter, honey or mineral water, and then I would recover soon. Of course, I followed the doctor’s instructions. And soon I felt well.
I know exactly that “Good health is above wealth (благосостояние)”.

Health plays a very important role in our life. Nowadays, many people think that good health is above wealth and an each man needs in healthy body, but others disagree with them.
In my opinion, health is the key to a happy life. In the first place, a healthy person full of energy and positive. He enjoys life and share this joy with others. Second, health prolongs life and helps in old age to be active as in youth. Finally, a healthy body can lead people to a healthy mind and a bright and interesting life.
Nevertheless, some people believe that health insurance is a waste of time and efforts. They consider that a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition is expensive and does not brings any result.
I completely disagree with this opinion. Easy to be healthy, because it is necessary to follow a few simple rules. Moreover, health is cheap and available for everyone.
In conclusion, I am strongly convinced that in every human life health is a very important thing. All people must take care of their health, because it is easier to take care of our health that to recover it. We should not forget that the first wealth is health.
I think keeping health is very important for everyone. Moreover health is one of the most urgent problems in the world now. Why is that so? People nowadays are more health-conscious than they used to be. They understand that good health is above wealth.
To be healthy we should avoid different bad habits that can affect our health. In my opinion, smoking and drinking too much alcohol, are the worst ones. It’s common knowledge that smoking and drinking can shorten our lives dramatically. Smoking, for example, causes a number of heart and lung diseases, such as pneumonia, emphysema and cancer. Besides, it makes your teeth yellow and skin unhealthy. Fortunately, in recent years smoking has received a lot of bad publicity, and fewer people smoke nowadays. Some companies don’t employ people who are smokers. Smoking has been banned in most public places because everyone agrees it does harm to our health. I don’t smoke, because I don’t want to have unhealthy skin and teeth and die young.
Smoking and drinking are joined by less dangerous habits, such as skipping meals, eating unhealthy food, or even overeating. Of course, they are not quite as deadly as smoking or drinking alcohol, but they also affect our health.
If we eat too much, we’ll become obese, and obesity leads to serious health problems. A lot of people like drinking coca cola and coffee, and enjoy pizzas and hamburgers. But what is tasty is not always healthy. Fast food makes you fat, that’s why Americans are the fattest people in the world.
In recent years eating habits have undergone a change. People are encouraged to eat less fat and more fibre. Fat is believed to be one of the major causes of obesity and heart disease. High fibre and low fat foods can now be found in all shops and supermarkets. Salads, beans, and fruit have taken the place of steak and ice cream. The fashion for health food is growing all the time.
Many people feel they are too fat, even if their doctors disagree. And a lot of people try to improve their fitness. There are a lot of ways to lose weight and avoid gaining it. Perhaps the most popular of them is following a diet. If you want to lose weight, you should cut out snacks and desserts, and cut down on fat. People have also become more aware of calories, the energy value of food. Some people count the number of calories they eat every day; so that they can try to take in fewer calories and lose weight. This is called a calorie-controlled diet. Manufacturers are increasingly producing special foods with fewer calories for slimmers.
But excessive dieting may be dangerous, too. Some people refuse to eat meat as they consider it harmful. They say a vegetarian diet reduces the risk of cancer and vegetarians live longer than others. I can’t agree with them, because meat is an excellent source of good nutrition. In my opinion, it’s wrong to put down a food simply because excessive amounts can cause health problems. Consumed in moderate amounts, meat is perfectly good for our health.
To my mind, the only way to stay healthy and to keep fit is by going in for sports. Among the benefits of regular exercise are a healthier heart, stronger bones, quicker reaction times and more resistance to various illnesses. Besides, you can eat and drink as much as you want because you are burning it all off.
To be healthy, it is also very important to spend a lot of time in the open air. It is useful to go for a walk before going to bed, or to air the room.
I think it is very important to be fit and healthy, and it is necessary to take care of your health. Being fat, in fact, can cause real problems. It is harder for fat people to get a good job, or even to make friends. If you want to do well, you must be thin. That’s why I go in for sports on a regular basis. I have been doing aerobics for three years and I feel great. I am not enthusiastic about strict dieting, but I try to eat only low-fat food, and fruit and vegetables which are rich in vitamins.

Good afternoon, dear students! Today we are having our final lesson
on the topic “Healthy Way of Life”. For three weeks you have been
working on the projects. Today you are going to present the result of
your joint work. We hope that you will show your speaking skills,
cooperative skills, will show your understanding of the proverb
‘Health is above wealth’.
As
you remember, at our first lesson of this theme we held a survey
among the 10th formers.
The children chose the most vital aspects of healthy way of life and
picked out the problems concerning their health. Having analyzed
their opinion, we found out the following three major points: bad
habits, food and stress. As far as we have three groups in our class,
each group chose a problem for studying.

food. The proverb says: “We are what we eat ” In this cosmic
world which we live in, the thing we neglect all to off is nutrition.
Food supplies three fundamental body needs: need for energy, need for
new tissue growth and tissue repair, need to regulate metabolic
function.
In
particular, the types of food that we eat can influence our moods.
Eating food like bread, cereal, rice makes us feel calm. Chocolate
can lift our spirits and make us feel happier. Other foods, such as
coffee, eggs, sugar, can have a negative effect on us. When you feel
stressed, try a little bread and a glass of milk and you will feel
relaxed.
Have
you ever heard anything about junk food? I shall try to convince you
that it is harmful for our health and stomach. In today’s
fast-moving world, people have less and less time to spend eating,

so popular.
Recent
researches have shown that people who prefer junk food gain excess
weight. This is true because you tend to eat more, as junk food is
less satisfying and lower in vital nutrients.

The problem of food is closely connected with dieting. We all want to
be slim. We’ve got some information about dieting: whether it is a
good thing or not.
The
term dieting most often refers to the revision of food intake in
order to lose weight. Diets are also observed for a wide range of
medical reasons.
What
do 100 calories a day correspond to? It’s easy to feed 100 calories
to the body but difficult to burn them, as the drawings illustrate.
Variants
of burning calories are:
1)
2 km walk;
2)
5 min of skiing at competition speed;
3)
4 km of cycling;
4)
15 min of tennis (easy pace);
5)
30 min of gardening.
You
should count your calories if you want to have a good figure.
There
are a number of problems connected with dieting. Low diets, for
example, restrict the amount of bread, sugar, and grains while
maintaining a normal amount of proteins and fats. Most people
experience low blood pressure after only a few days on such diets.
Diets
high in fats are harmful for people with heart disease.
High
proteins diets can be kept for only a short period of time and are
dangerous for anyone with diabetes and other medical problems.
There
is a serious problem of starvation, because it can lead to coma. It
can be practiced only under strict medical supervision.

Now we’d like to acquaint you with such a disease as anorexia.
Anorexia
is a new illness and seems to be caused by the society we live in,
which judges us on our appearance. The media encourage us to try to
be slim and beautiful. Each year there are to be at least 2000 new
cases of anorexia. Most anorexics are females in their teens and
twenties who suffer from a distorted self image: either slim or
attractive they may appear to others. Though hungry, anorexics
attempt to gain control of their lives by denying eating.

We are sure you know such term as vegetarianism. We’ll tell you the
history of it and reveal the advantages and disadvantages of it.
Vegetarianism
is an ancient custom. During the 19th century
the movement began to produce results even among non-vegetarians. By
the early 20th century

countries; such foods as peanut butter and corn flakes were invented
by vegetarians in the United States.
The
vegetarian movement as a whole was carried forward by individuals,
such as Leo Tolstoy and George Bernard Show, and by certain religious
sects.
Humanitarian
vegetarians refuse meat because they believe that killing of animals
is unnecessary or cruel. People who are keen on vegetarianism for
health reasons believe that meat is harmful to the human body and
that vegetable diet is more effective.
Purist
vegetarians reject all foods that are derived from animals, including
dairy products such as eggs, milk, cheese and butter.

People should follow some rules to keep fit. I try to take regular exercises and a cool shower. I clean my teeth twice a day and wash my hands before meals.
That’s why I hardly ever suffer from the flu, though once or twice a year I catch a serious cold. When it happens I feel some pain in my body and I am running a high temperature.
Last time I was sick in autumn. I came home and felt I had fallen ill. I had a terrible headache, a sore throat, it hurt me to swallow. Besides, I was sneezing and coughing all the time. My mother called the doctor. When the doctor came, she began to examine me. She felt my pulse, listened to my lungs and heart and prescribed some medicine for the fever. I had to stay in bed for a few days and take the pills three times a day after meals. She said I should drink warm milk with butter, honey or mineral water, and then I would recover soon. Of course, I followed the doctor’s instructions. And soon I felt well.
I know exactly that “Good health is above wealth (благосостояние)”.

Health plays a very important role in our life. Nowadays, many people think that good health is above wealth and an each man needs in healthy body, but others disagree with them.
In my opinion, health is the key to a happy life. In the first place, a healthy person full of energy and positive. He enjoys life and share this joy with others. Second, health prolongs life and helps in old age to be active as in youth. Finally, a healthy body can lead people to a healthy mind and a bright and interesting life.
Nevertheless, some people believe that health insurance is a waste of time and efforts. They consider that a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition is expensive and does not brings any result.
I completely disagree with this opinion. Easy to be healthy, because it is necessary to follow a few simple rules. Moreover, health is cheap and available for everyone.
In conclusion, I am strongly convinced that in every human life health is a very important thing. All people must take care of their health, because it is easier to take care of our health that to recover it. We should not forget that the first wealth is health.
