Summer is my favourite season of the year because hard and busy school time is over and long holidays are waiting for me. I always plan a lot of wonderful things to do during my summer vacation.
My holidays
Almost each year I spent my holidays in the country at my grandparents’. I adore that place for its landscape. There is a nice river and the woods where my friends and I can gather berries and mushrooms. We also enjoy swimming in the river and sunbathing when the weather is fine. Apart from this, I’m always ready to help my grannies around the house or in the garden watering plants and gathering fruit and vegetables. I like going fishing with my grandpa and cooking the fish over the fire. And one more thing which is worth saying is that I have a chance to breathe fresh country air and forget about the dust and the smokes of the city. Indeed I have a great time in the country with my lovely grandparents. I wish I could visit them more often.
Last summer
Last summer I spent my holidays at the seaside with my family. It was for the first time and I couldn’t even imagine such excellent holidays. We were there in August and were lucky to have sunny weather and warm sea all the time. It was so pleasant to have a rest doing nothing except taking sunbathes and swimming. There were different kinds of entertainment but best of all I liked water scooters and discos. I was also playing with my little sister on the sand and taught her to swim. Besides, I made some new friends and we had a lot of fun together. We went on several field trips. The one I will never forget was riding a jeep across numerous rivers in the mountains. Unfortunately the time passed very quickly and we had to return back home. However, there were still two more weeks left before school. I spent that time reading books, listening to music, watching TV, playing computer games and going out with my friends.

In conclusion I want to say that I’m usually happy to get back to school as I can meet my friends and teachers again but I always look forward to having summer holidays.
How I spent summer holidays
My name is Andrew. I’m sixteen years old. Summer is my favorite season. Summer holidays give the longest rest from studying of the year that’s why I like them so much.
In June I stayed at home and my parents were at work. But I was glad because at last I had time for myself. I read books, listened to music, watched films and visited my friend. I spend most days outdoors and got a nice sun tan.

Then my parents were on vacation and so they took me to my parent’s place in the village. It’s a very picturesque place with a forest and a river nearby. I was happy to see my grandmother and grandfather. I spent hot days on the riverbank. Once we went hiking with my parents, made fire, gathered some berries. The summer forest is very beautiful. In the evening I usually helped in the garden.
Last month of the summer I was at home again, having rest from such an intensive rest! I did usual things and prepared for school. I like my summer holidays!

In my opinion there is a great number of different ways of spending summer holidays. It depends on person, on his culture, education, age, social level and personal tastes and preferences. So, everyone likes his own way of summertime spending.

As for me, I prefer to go on holiday to the seaside. I do not like crowds. My family and I always have our holiday on the coast. Sea and sunbathes, that is what we look forward to every summer. Hotels at the large seaside towns are rather expensive, so we usually go camping.
Last year we spent our holidays in a camp. Each day was full of small joys. We swam in the sea, lay in the sun, played different games and had a wonderful time.

I’d like to tell you about my summer holidays I spent in Sochi. It was just three years ago. My parents and me were sitting in the living-room discussing our plans for the summer holidays. My father suggested that we should go to Sochi. On hearing that I jumped up with joy and said it was a wonderful idea. My mother wasn’t against the idea either.
So one summer morning we started for our journey to Sochi. First, we travelled to Odessa by plane and from there we got to Sochi by boat. We stayed in Odessa for three days, our relatives live there and they gave us board and lodging. So we had an excellent opportunity to go round the city, to see beautiful monuments to the famous people who had lived in Odessa, museums and the Odessa Opera House.
We enjoyed our trip from Odessa to Sochi. The Black Sea was calm. We sat on deck in the lounge chairs and looked atthe sea. I like Sochi very much. We bathed and went boating and swimming, lay in Jk the sun on the beach. In the evenings we went for a walk or dropped in at a cafe to have ice-cream or juice. My father showed us the famous Botanical Gardens, we went for hikes in the mountains, we saw the magnificent Augura Waterfalls.

After each term in school we had our holidays. It’s fun to have holidays, you can do whatever you like, you don’t have to get up too early, do your homework or think of troubles which occur very often at school. Most of all I liked summer holidays, they were the longest ones, though, when winter was snowy and frosty, I enjoyed my winter holidays skating and skiing, sledging and making a snowman or having a fight with snowballs.

We always think about summer in a positive way and plan the holidays beforehand. The weather encourages people not to lose the opportunities of having an unusual rest and to enjoy amazing trips.
My family prefers the active way of spending summer time. Last summer we had an enjoyable time. I was offered to travel to the Crimea Mountains by my parents. I tried to imagine myself climbing the top of the mountain and I did not find it attractive at first. My friends were going to spend their summer holidays at the seaside. I envied them greatly.
But unfortunately I had to agree to join my family. And we started our preparation for travelling. We bought necessary things and equipment. Parents packed rucksacks and we were ready for starting our traveling.
We arrived at the unique place. And while looking at these high green mountains, my heart was about to stop beating. Nature impressed me much. At night the stars seemed to be very close and I thought that I could touch them with my hand. I had an experience of making and keeping the fire, climbing the hills, cooking food. I returned home being tired and happy. I learned some rules how to survive in the mountains. I want to go there one more time.

Summer Way of Spending Time
In my opinion there is a great number of different ways of spending summer holidays. It depends on person, on his culture, education, age, social level and personal tastes and preferences. So, everyone likes his own way of summertime spending.
It is a great pleasure to have a rest after a whole year of hard work or study. People like to travel during their summer holidays.
Some people go abroad to see new countries, some people prefer to go to the country-side to enjoy country-life far from noise and fuss of big cities. Other people like staying at home doing nothing, but watching TV and playing computer games.
Some people like to spend their holidays in cities, visiting theatres, museums and going sightseeing. But a great number of people go to the seaside.
As for me, I prefer to go on holiday to the seaside. I do not like crowds. My family and I always have our holiday on the coast. Sea and sunbathes, that is what we look forward to every summer. Hotels at the large seaside towns are rather expensive, so we usually go camping.
Last year we spent our holidays in a camp. Each day was full of small joys. We swam in the sea, lay in the sun, played different games and had a wonderful time.
We lived there for about a month. The time passed very quickly. It was a wonderful holiday.
