Summer is my favourite season of the year because hard and busy school time is over and long holidays are waiting for me. I always plan a lot of wonderful things to do during my summer vacation.
My holidays
Almost each year I spent my holidays in the country at my grandparents’. I adore that place for its landscape. There is a nice river and the woods where my friends and I can gather berries and mushrooms. We also enjoy swimming in the river and sunbathing when the weather is fine. Apart from this, I’m always ready to help my grannies around the house or in the garden watering plants and gathering fruit and vegetables. I like going fishing with my grandpa and cooking the fish over the fire. And one more thing which is worth saying is that I have a chance to breathe fresh country air and forget about the dust and the smokes of the city. Indeed I have a great time in the country with my lovely grandparents. I wish I could visit them more often.
Last summer
Last summer I spent my holidays at the seaside with my family. It was for the first time and I couldn’t even imagine such excellent holidays. We were there in August and were lucky to have sunny weather and warm sea all the time. It was so pleasant to have a rest doing nothing except taking sunbathes and swimming. There were different kinds of entertainment but best of all I liked water scooters and discos. I was also playing with my little sister on the sand and taught her to swim. Besides, I made some new friends and we had a lot of fun together. We went on several field trips. The one I will never forget was riding a jeep across numerous rivers in the mountains. Unfortunately the time passed very quickly and we had to return back home. However, there were still two more weeks left before school. I spent that time reading books, listening to music, watching TV, playing computer games and going out with my friends.
Conclusion
In conclusion I want to say that I’m usually happy to get back to school as I can meet my friends and teachers again but I always look forward to having summer holidays.

People of all ages look for summer every year. It is a rest from work, the joy of sunny days after cold winter and rainy spring, a chance to travel or relax in nature. As for me, I always liked summer because of the possibility to stay with family and friends, to read my favorite books, and just to think about something important.

These summer holidays were the last: I will graduate from school this year. It is necessary to choose a profession and the university to enter. Therefore, I dedicated much time to thoughts about this serious decision.

Of course, I did not forget about the rest as well. For example, I spent a few days on the lake near our town with my cousin and two friends. We fished, collect mushrooms in a small forest, and talked about our future. Later, we met twice to play basketball on the sports ground, according to our tradition.

For a month, I worked at the post office to earn some pocket money. My father offered me to work as a corrector in the town newspaper (he is a journalist); however, I prefer another way of life. I have been rather successful in French and in writing during last years, so I would like to become a translator. I practiced French every day, watched several French films, and enrolled in additional language courses.

Many people like spending their holidays in the countryside. Life in the village is different from life in the city. Country air is less contaminated. There are lakes and meadows with grazing cattle. There are a lot of things you can do while staying in the countryside. You can take a stroll in the forest and listen to some birds’ singing, you can go fishing or swim in the lake. You can simply sit by the river watching sunset.
Everyone who lives in the village has their own farm. Some people rear hens, pigs or goats. Everyone has their own vegetable garden where they grow vegetables, fruit and berries. In the nearby forest they go to pick mushrooms.
In summer people stock up with firewood to stoke the stoves long winter nights.

My Village

My grandparents live in a country house in a small village not far from Moscow. Very often my parents and I visit them on the weekends. Moreover, I spend most part of my summer holidays there. I love my village. The air there is really fresh and there are lots of things to do.

Sometimes my grandfather and I go to the forest and pick up mushrooms. I find this activity really interesting. From time to time we also go fishing. Honestly, I am not really good at it, but my grandfather is a professional. In the Lake there a lot of different species of fish. After the fishing, my granny normally cooks a fish soup. It is one of my favorite dishes and my granny cooks very delicious.

I think summer is the best season of all because it is warm, the nature is beautiful and we have great opportunities for rest. Summer is a time of holidays. We can go anywhere, spend our time near a river or a lake on fresh, green grass, swim in warm water, or climb mountains, play different games, ride a bicycle and so on.
I spend my summer holidays at my granny’s. There are many things there to do. What I did most of the time – I swam in the sea and sunbathed. Sometimes I made a fire with my friends at the seaside and cooked potatoes there. It was wonderful. We told anecdotes to each other, and did everything we wanted. I also got used to walk alone in the forest.
When August was coming to its end, I went on a small voyage by ship. The ship name was “Sevastopol”.
But this summer wasn’t for me only sugar and honey. I have passed through the graduating exams after school and entering exams in the university. So the bigger part of my summer vacations I spent sitting with the books. Of course, it was not interesting, but I’m glad that I did it because now I’m a student of the best university in our country.
Summer is my favorite season. Summer holidays give the longest rest from studying of the year that’s why I like them so much.
In June I stayed at home and my parents were at work. But I was glad because at last I had time for myself. I read books, listened to music, watched films and visited my friend. I spend most days outdoors and got a nice sun tan.
Then I spent two weeks in the summer camp on the seaside. It was a real fun. I met a lot of new friends. Every day we enjoyed something special – games, carnivals, competitions, performances. We went to the seaside twice a day. There we swam, bathed in the sun, played volleyball on the beach, made sculptures of sand. We had discos every night, but not too long. I guess, those were the most exciting weeks of the summer. It gave me bright impressions, lots of funny photos and some new friends.
Then my parents were on vacation and so they took me to my parent’s place in the village. It’s a very picturesque place with a forest and a river nearby. I was happy to see my grandmother and grandfather. I spent hot days on the riverbank. Once we went hiking with my parents, made fire, gathered some berries. The summer forest is very beautiful. In the evening I usually helped in the garden.
Last month of the summer I was at home again, having rest from such an intensive rest! I did usual things and prepared for school. I like my summer holidays!

How I am going to spend my summer
Summer is coming and I’m looking forward to it. It’s my favourite season, of course, because the weather is great and you don’t have to go to school. After a long and difficult school year you get really tired of studies, so I’m going to enjoy my summer holidays and have much fun. I hope they will be as exciting as my last summer holidays were. I already have a lot of plans for them.
I would like to spend the first summer month in the country, at my grandparents’. My friends and cousins will be waiting for me there. I miss them so much. We shall go fishing, sunbathing, swimming, horse-riding and playing football. And I’m going to help my grandparents about the garden. So I will be outdoors all the time.
I can’t wait for July because our family will travel to the seaside. We shall stay in a rented house for 2 weeks. I really enjoy the clean air and the beautiful scenery with beaches and mountains near the warm sea. I am going to swim and dive a lot. And I want to try the national cuisine, rich in fruit, vegetables and fish.
As for August, I would like to stay in the city and spend the time with my friends walking around, going to the cinema and cafes, playing computer games. My dream is to sleep as much as I like and to do what I like. I will ride my bike, go skateboarding or roller-skating in the park.
I hope that the summer of 2018 will be the best summer in my life and I will start my new school year happy, suntanned and refreshed!

What I Will do in Summer
For me, as for many pupils and students, summer is the best time of the year. It is a time for recreation, long-awaited meetings with friends and trips to sea. Therefore, I’m looking forward to the time when I will have the opportunity to realize all my plans. In June, I should go to the country camp.
I go there by tradition each year together with my friends. We actively participate in sports activities, go to swim in a lake, attend creative workshops and master-classes, and before leaving we prepare interesting performances for the final concert.
After a couple of weeks after my return from the camp, my parents, my younger sister and me, we plan to go to our grandma with grandpa, who own a house in the Moscow region. There the whole our family usually ride bikes, play badminton or table tennis.
I really like spending time in the countryside: I like being surrounded by nature, walking through the woods and pick berries. And, of course, our rest in the country is impossible without visiting the bath-house! My parents have already bought for our family trip tickets to Greece for August. I have never been to this country, and so it will be very interesting for me to get acquainted with its sights and culture. We will live in the city of Heraklion, which is the administrative center of the island Crete.
This city is famous for its architectural monuments, historical museum and clean sandy beaches on the shores of the Aegean Sea, so I think we won`t be bored at all. This year I want to get as much positive emotions from my summer adventures as I can, because next year the University awaits for me and I already will not be able to be so carefree with my friends and to have fun splashing in the sea with my parents.
We’ll be back from Greece only in mid-August, and I will immediately start preparing for school to continue with renewed energy my way to knowledge.

На август мои родители уже купили для нашей семьи путевки в Грецию. Я еще ни разу не был в этой стране, и поэтому мне очень интересно будет познакомиться с ее достопримечательностями и культурой. Мы будем жить в городе Ираклион, который является административным центром острова Крит.

I always look forward to my summer holidays. In my opinion, there’s nothing like the Russian countryside. We’ve got a small country house in a very picturesque place not far from Zagorsk. There’s a river and a lake there. My friends and I often go swimming and boating there. I’m also fond of lying in the sun.
There’s a lot of fish in the lake, so I sometimes go fishing. I like to sit in silence for a while waiting for a fish to get caught and listening to the birds singing in the trees. When I happen to catch a fish I set it free at once, because I do fishing just for pleasure.
When it’s very hot I usually go to the forest. The air is cool there. I like to walk in the shade of the trees and pick mushrooms and berries. I’ve got a dog called Jack. He becomes so happy when I take him with me to the forest.
Jack likes to run after butterflies or dragonflies. I sometimes play with him. I throw a stick and he brings it back to me.
But last summer my parents decided to go to some other place for a change. They made up their minds to go to the Crimea. I think it was the greatest mistake they had ever made. This, in a nutshell, is what happened.
To begin with, it was very difficult to find a place to stay. We rented a room in a house a long way from the sea. It was the only place we managed to get. It took us about half an hour to get to the beach. But it didn’t matter, as it turned out a few days later. Suddenly our happy sunny days were over. It started to rain. It occasionally cleared up for a while but then the rain went on again. All we could do was to spend all our time in the cinema or in a cafe. It was impossible to leave because we had made reservations beforehand and we had to spend another week there. I had never seen so many films in my life. By the end of the week I got very tired of the cinema and I could only lie on the bed reading books or staring at the ceiling.
At last the happy day of our departure came. You can’t imagine how astonished we were. The sun began to shine early in the morning. It seemed to me that it was laughing at us.
After that holiday we decided to spend every summer in the country.

Personally I suppose that summer is the best time for holiday and rest. This season is the warmest one. The nature is really beautiful and the people have various opportunities for their rest. They can travel and visit another cities and countries, continents and islands. They can go hiking and have a terrific time in the forest, in the mountains, on the lake, on the river or on the sea. The people can also go out with their friends and relatives and have fun in the open air.

The nature is beautiful in summer. The grass and the leaves on the trees are fresh and green, there are many different flowers everywhere. The weather is mostly very nice. Of course, it can rain sometimes, but some people like rainy days. So do I. When it rains I like to read books and to listen to the patter of rain.

Our family has a country house in a village near our city. In summer my grandmother lives there and I usually enjoy my summer holidays there. At the end of August I come back to the city. On the 1st of September begins the new school year. Next year I will put my school graduating exams. I am going to enter the university, that`s why I have also to put the entering exams. I will read up for examinations in our country house – far away from the scurry and the scramble of city life.

My favourite season
Summer is my favourite season of the year because hard and busy school time is over and long holidays are waiting for me. I always plan a lot of wonderful things to do during my summer vacation.
My holidays
Almost each year I spent my holidays in the country at my grandparents’. I adore that place for its landscape. There is a nice river and the woods where my friends and I can gather berries and mushrooms. We also enjoy swimming in the river and sunbathing when the weather is fine. Apart from this, I’m always ready to help my grannies around the house or in the garden watering plants and gathering fruit and vegetables. I like going fishing with my grandpa and cooking the fish over the fire. And one more thing which is worth saying is that I have a chance to breathe fresh country air and forget about the dust and the smokes of the city. Indeed I have a great time in the country with my lovely grandparents. I wish I could visit them more often.
Last summer
Last summer I spent my holidays at the seaside with my family. It was for the first time and I couldn’t even imagine such excellent holidays. We were there in August and were lucky to have sunny weather and warm sea all the time. It was so pleasant to have a rest doing nothing except taking sunbathes and swimming. There were different kinds of entertainment but best of all I liked water scooters and discos. I was also playing with my little sister on the sand and taught her to swim. Besides, I made some new friends and we had a lot of fun together. We went on several field trips. The one I will never forget was riding a jeep across numerous rivers in the mountains. Unfortunately the time passed very quickly and we had to return back home. However, there were still two more weeks left before school. I spent that time reading books, listening to music, watching TV, playing computer games and going out with my friends.
Conclusion
In conclusion I want to say that I’m usually happy to get back to school as I can meet my friends and teachers again but I always look forward to having summer holidays.

As for me, I always liked summer because of the possibility to stay with family and friends, to read my favorite books, and just to think about something important.

These summer holidays were the last: I will graduate from school this year. It is necessary to choose a profession and the university to enter. Therefore, I dedicated much time to thoughts about this serious decision.

Of course, I did not forget about the rest as well. For example, I spent a few days on the lake near our town with my cousin and two friends. For a month, I worked at the post office to earn some pocket money. My father offered me to work as a corrector in the town newspaper (he is a journalist); however, I prefer another way of life. I practiced French every day, watched several French films, and enrolled in additional language courses.

Many people like spending their holidays in the countryside. Life in the village is different from life in the city. Country air is less contaminated. There are lakes and meadows with grazing cattle. There are a lot of things you can do while staying in the countryside. You can take a stroll in the forest and listen to some birds’ singing, you can go fishing or swim in the lake. You can simply sit by the river watching sunset.
Everyone who lives in the village has their own farm. Some people rear hens, pigs or goats. Everyone has their own vegetable garden where they grow vegetables, fruit and berries. In the nearby forest they go to pick mushrooms.
In summer people stock up with firewood to stoke the stoves long winter nights.

My grandparents live in a country house in a small village not far from Moscow. Very often my parents and I visit them on the weekends. Moreover, I spend most part of my summer holidays there. I love my village. The air there is really fresh and there are lots of things to do.

Honestly, I am not really good at it, but my grandfather is a professional. In the Lake there a lot of different species of fish. After the fishing, my granny normally cooks a fish soup. I think summer is the best season of all because it is warm, the nature is beautiful and we have great opportunities for rest. Summer is a time of holidays. We can go anywhere, spend our time near a river or a lake on fresh, green grass, swim in warm water, or climb mountains, play different games, ride a bicycle and so on.
I spend my summer holidays at my granny’s. There are many things there to do. What I did most of the time – I swam in the sea and sunbathed. Sometimes I made a fire with my friends at the seaside and cooked potatoes there. It was wonderful. We told anecdotes to each other, and did everything we wanted. I also got used to walk alone in the forest.
When August was coming to its end, I went on a small voyage by ship. The ship name was “Sevastopol”.
But this summer wasn’t for me only sugar and honey. I have passed through the graduating exams after school and entering exams in the university. So the bigger part of my summer vacations I spent sitting with the books. Of course, it was not interesting, but I’m glad that I did it because now I’m a student of the best university in our country.
Summer is my favorite season. Summer holidays give the longest rest from studying of the year that’s why I like them so much.
In June I stayed at home and my parents were at work. But I was glad because at last I had time for myself. I read books, listened to music, watched films and visited my friend. I spend most days outdoors and got a nice sun tan.
Then I spent two weeks in the summer camp on the seaside. It was a real fun. I met a lot of new friends. Every day we enjoyed something special – games, carnivals, competitions, performances. We went to the seaside twice a day. There we swam, bathed in the sun, played volleyball on the beach, made sculptures of sand. We had discos every night, but not too long. I guess, those were the most exciting weeks of the summer. It gave me bright impressions, lots of funny photos and some new friends.
Then my parents were on vacation and so they took me to my parent’s place in the village. It’s a very picturesque place with a forest and a river nearby. I was happy to see my grandmother and grandfather. I spent hot days on the riverbank. Once we went hiking with my parents, made fire, gathered some berries. The summer forest is very beautiful. In the evening I usually helped in the garden.
Last month of the summer I was at home again, having rest from such an intensive rest! I did usual things and prepared for school. I like my summer holidays!

How I am going to spend my summer
Summer is coming and I’m looking forward to it. It’s my favourite season, of course, because the weather is great and you don’t have to go to school. After a long and difficult school year you get really tired of studies, so I’m going to enjoy my summer holidays and have much fun. I hope they will be as exciting as my last summer holidays were. I already have a lot of plans for them.
I would like to spend the first summer month in the country, at my grandparents’. My friends and cousins will be waiting for me there. I miss them so much. We shall go fishing, sunbathing, swimming, horse-riding and playing football. And I’m going to help my grandparents about the garden. So I will be outdoors all the time.
I can’t wait for July because our family will travel to the seaside. We shall stay in a rented house for 2 weeks. I really enjoy the clean air and the beautiful scenery with beaches and mountains near the warm sea. I am going to swim and dive a lot. And I want to try the national cuisine, rich in fruit, vegetables and fish.
As for August, I would like to stay in the city and spend the time with my friends walking around, going to the cinema and cafes, playing computer games. My dream is to sleep as much as I like and to do what I like. I will ride my bike, go skateboarding or roller-skating in the park.
I hope that the summer of 2018 will be the best summer in my life and I will start my new school year happy, suntanned and refreshed!

What I Will do in Summer
For me, as for many pupils and students, summer is the best time of the year. It is a time for recreation, long-awaited meetings with friends and trips to sea. Therefore, I’m looking forward to the time when I will have the opportunity to realize all my plans. In June, I should go to the country camp.
I go there by tradition each year together with my friends. We actively participate in sports activities, go to swim in a lake, attend creative workshops and master-classes, and before leaving we prepare interesting performances for the final concert.
After a couple of weeks after my return from the camp, my parents, my younger sister and me, we plan to go to our grandma with grandpa, who own a house in the Moscow region. There the whole our family usually ride bikes, play badminton or table tennis.
I really like spending time in the countryside: I like being surrounded by nature, walking through the woods and pick berries. And, of course, our rest in the country is impossible without visiting the bath-house! My parents have already bought for our family trip tickets to Greece for August. I have never been to this country, and so it will be very interesting for me to get acquainted with its sights and culture. We will live in the city of Heraklion, which is the administrative center of the island Crete.
This city is famous for its architectural monuments, historical museum and clean sandy beaches on the shores of the Aegean Sea, so I think we won`t be bored at all. This year I want to get as much positive emotions from my summer adventures as I can, because next year the University awaits for me and I already will not be able to be so carefree with my friends and to have fun splashing in the sea with my parents.
We’ll be back from Greece only in mid-August, and I will immediately start preparing for school to continue with renewed energy my way to knowledge.

На август мои родители уже купили для нашей семьи путевки в Грецию. Я еще ни разу не был в этой стране, и поэтому мне очень интересно будет познакомиться с ее достопримечательностями и культурой. After a long and difficult school year you get really tired of studies, so I’m going to enjoy my summer holidays and have much fun. I hope they will be as exciting as my last summer holidays were. I already have a lot of plans for them.
I would like to spend the first summer month in the country, at my grandparents’. My friends and cousins will be waiting for me there. I miss them so much. We shall go fishing, sunbathing, swimming, horse-riding and playing football. And I’m going to help my grandparents about the garden. So I will be outdoors all the time.
I can’t wait for July because our family will travel to the seaside. We shall stay in a rented house for 2 weeks. I really enjoy the clean air and the beautiful scenery with beaches and mountains near the warm sea. I am going to swim and dive a lot. And I want to try the national cuisine, rich in fruit, vegetables and fish.
As for August, I would like to stay in the city and spend the time with my friends walking around, going to the cinema and cafes, playing computer games. My dream is to sleep as much as I like and to do what I like. I will ride my bike, go skateboarding or roller-skating in the park.
I hope that the summer of 2016 will be the best summer in my life and I will start my new school year happy, suntanned and refreshed!

Не могу дождаться и июля, потому что моя семья отправляется на отдых к морю. Мы будем жить в арендованном домике в течение двух недель. Мне очень нравится чистый воздух и красивые пейзажи с пляжами и горами возле теплого моря. Я буду много плавать и нырять. И еще я хочу попробовать национальную кухню, богатую фруктами, овощами и рыбой.
Что касается августа, я бы хотел остаться в городе и провести время со своими друзьями, прогуливаясь по улицам, посещая кинотеатры и кафе, играя в компьютерные игры. Я мечтаю спать, сколько захочется и заниматься тем, чем захочется. Я буду кататься на велосипеде, скейтборде или роликах в парке.
Я надеюсь, что лето 2016 года будет лучшим летом в моей жизни, и что я начну новый учебный год счастливым, загорелым и отдохнувшим!
I always look forward to my summer holidays. In my opinion, there’s nothing like the Russian countryside. We’ve got a small country house in a very picturesque place not far from Zagorsk. There’s a river and a lake there. My friends and I often go swimming and boating there. I’m also fond of lying in the sun.
There’s a lot of fish in the lake, so I sometimes go fishing. I like to sit in silence for a while waiting for a fish to get caught and listening to the birds singing in the trees. When I happen to catch a fish I set it free at once, because I do fishing just for pleasure.
When it’s very hot I usually go to the forest. The air is cool there. I like to walk in the shade of the trees and pick mushrooms and berries. I’ve got a dog called Jack. He becomes so happy when I take him with me to the forest.
Jack likes to run after butterflies or dragonflies. I sometimes play with him. I throw a stick and he brings it back to me.
But last summer my parents decided to go to some other place for a change. They made up their minds to go to the Crimea. I think it was the greatest mistake they had ever made. This, in a nutshell, is what happened.
To begin with, it was very difficult to find a place to stay. We rented a room in a house a long way from the sea. It was the only place we managed to get. It took us about half an hour to get to the beach. But it didn’t matter, as it turned out a few days later. Suddenly our happy sunny days were over. It started to rain. It occasionally cleared up for a while but then the rain went on again. All we could do was to spend all our time in the cinema or in a cafe. It was impossible to leave because we had made reservations beforehand and we had to spend another week there. I had never seen so many films in my life. By the end of the week I got very tired of the cinema and I could only lie on the bed reading books or staring at the ceiling.
At last the happy day of our departure came. You can’t imagine how astonished we were. The sun began to shine early in the morning. It seemed to me that it was laughing at us.
After that holiday we decided to spend every summer in the country.

Personally I suppose that summer is the best time for holiday and rest. This season is the warmest one. The nature is really beautiful and the people have various opportunities for their rest. They can travel and visit another cities and countries, continents and islands. They can go hiking and have a terrific time in the forest, in the mountains, on the lake, on the river or on the sea. The people can also go out with their friends and relatives and have fun in the open air.
Лично я считаю, что лето – самое лучшее время для отпусков и отдыха. Это время года самое теплое. Природа действительно прекрасна, и у людей есть различные возможности для отдыха. Они могут путешествовать и посещать другие города и страны, материки и острова. Они могут ходить в турпоходы и великолепно проводить время в лесу, в горах, на озере, на реке или на море. Люди также могут выходить погулять со своими друзьями и родными и весело проводить время на открытом воздухе.
The nature is beautiful in summer. The grass and the leaves on the trees are fresh and green, there are many different flowers everywhere. The weather is mostly very nice. Of course, it can rain sometimes, but some people like rainy days. So do I. When it rains I like to read books and to listen to the patter of rain.
Природа летом великолепна. Трава и листья на деревьях свежи и зелены, везде много разных цветов. Погода по большей части очень приятна. Конечно, иногда может идти дождь, но некоторые люди любят дождливые дни. Я тоже. Когда идет дождь, я люблю читать книги и слушать шум дождя.
Our family has a country house in a village near our city. In summer my grandmother lives there and I usually enjoy my summer holidays there. I have many friends in the village and we do many things together. We swim in the river or in the lake, go fishing, ride a bicycle, play many different games, go mushrooming and so on. In the evening I usually read books or watch TV and video.
У нашей семьи есть загородный дом в деревне недалеко от города. Летом там живет моя бабушка, и я обычно наслаждаюсь своими летними каникулами там. В деревне у меня много друзей и мы много всего делаем вместе. Мы купаемся в реке или в озере, ходим на рыбалку, катаемся на велосипеде, играем в различные игры, ходим за грибами и так далее. At the end of August I come back to the city. On the 1st of September begins the new school year. Next year I will put my school graduating exams. I am going to enter the university, that`s why I have also to put the entering exams. I will read up for examinations in our country house – far away from the scurry and the scramble of city life.
В конце августа я возвращаюсь в город. Первого сентября начинается новый учебный год. На будущий год я буду сдавать выпускные школьные экзамены. Я собираюсь поступать в университет, вот почему мне нужно будет сдать еще и вступительные экзамены. Я буду к ним готовиться в нашем загородном доме – вдалеке от лихорадочной суеты городской жизни.
