Some people move to different cities because they change a work place or they just want to experience something new in their lives. However, wherever people go, native city is always in the inmost recesses of the heart.

I have many favourite places in my town: the Volga Bay, parks and cinemas.
You can see many people and children on the Volga Bay. There are many exciting coloured fountains here. In summer you can boat and in winter you can skate.
We have a lot of parks. Each park is very nice and cozy, where children and their parents gather for the merry and bright holidays, musical fairy tales, theatrical performances. Cheboksary is situated on both banks of the Volga, and is one of the most beautiful green cities in Russia. The main advantage of the Chuvash Republic is good location on the Volga River, which flows through the picturesque and green places. Volga and Sursko beaches, attractive natural landscape are attractive moments for tourism development.
The town also has a cinema. I love to go and watch movies with friends and parents.
We have a lot of monuments. Cheboksary is the cultural center of the republic and has more than 100 monuments, including prominent figures of culture and art.

I live and study in Kazan city, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. It’s my native city as I was born here. Kazan is located on the left bank of the Volga river and it was founded more than one thousand years ago. So it is a very old place, with rich and fascinating history. The population of my city is multinational and enormous: about one and a half million people. Kazan has changed greatly from the moment when I was born and it has grown much bigger, but still it keeps its own traditions and some strict religious rules. The people of my city are friendly and hospitable, polite and intelligent to my mind.
The capital of Tatarstan is a city of contrasts: there are quarters of modern high-rise buildings and districts with old historical places; some districts are awfully noisy and crowded, with long traffic jams, the others are very clean and quiet. Our transport system is really busy: we have a railway station, a big river port, an airport, buses, trolleybuses, trams and trains of the Kazan metro which was opened in 2005.
There are plenty of impressive sights for our guests in the historical centre of the city: the Kremlin of the 10th century, the Millenium bridge, the Kul-Sharif mosque and other beautiful cathedrals and mosques. Kazan has unique museums, able to suit any taste: the Fine Arts museum, the museum of Leo Tolstoy, the National museum of Tatarstan, the museum of Zoology.
My native city is a recognized sports capital of Russia. It has hosted many important sports events. The International Summer Universiade of 2013 was among them. And in 2018 our city is going to host the FIFA World Cup.
I feel proud of my birthplace and I am sure that Kazan is the place which is worth visiting at least once in our life. I know that many tourists from abroad come here and they feel enraptured with the local sights.

My name is Slobodchikov Slava. I was born in a small town. It`s called Andreapol. There is a river running across the town. Andreapol is situated on the both sides of the river. It`s called Zapadnaya Dvina. Andreapol region is famous for its great forests and lakes.
Most of the streets are dark and narrow. There are a lot of one family cottages. They are not much different from each other.
In the heart of the town we hame a small square. There are some monuments to an Unknown soldier and a small History museum in the town.
Also you can find a post-office, a railway station, a hospital,a hotel,some shops, 3 secondary schools, musical and sport schools here.
In summer the town is green because of trees and flowers. In winter there is much snow.
The countryside around Andreapol is beatiful. My home – town is a very guiet place with very little traffic, few people in the streets during the day – time. The town has a long and interesting history.

St. Petersburg is an important economic, scientific and cultural centre of the country. A lot of enterprises and international companies are located here. Tourism also plays a great role in the economic development of the city. St. Petersburg is not only beloved by Russian citizens, it is the place which foreigners will never forget.
St. Petersburg is a major transport hub. The city has an extensive network of public transport with buses, trams and underground. St. Petersburg is served by Pulkovo International Airport which is located on the outskirts of the city. Apart from that there are some seaports.
Everyone knows that St. Petersburg is usually referred to as the cultural capital of Russia. It is the city of great monuments, historical museums and other sites which belong to the World Heritage. Among them there is the Hermitage, the Mariinsky Theatre, Kazan Cathedral, the Peterhof Grand Palace, Saint Isaac’s Cathedral, the Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood and many others.
The city is the place where a lot of festivals and celebrations are held. It is a unique city with its own ingenious atmosphere.

I like travelling. Travelling I can discover so many interesting and wonderful places, meet different people and visit different sights. In my opinion, it will be possible to decide what the city of your dream is only if you visit it or, what is better, visit as many different cities as possible. Another important thing is to live there some period of time. I cannot understand when people say that this or that city is the city of their dream but they have never been there.

Maybe, I visit not so many cities but once I visited Saint Petersburg. It was the love at the first sight. Of course, before my travel to Saint Petersburg I knew a lot about this city, I saw many photos of it and so on. However in this city I discovered much more than I expected of it.

I was in Saint Petersburg twice and each time I was living there for one week. When it was my first journey I lived in Peterhof in the house of my relatives. However also it was interesting for me to do something of daily routine there. So I can say that I knew what it meant to live there though a bit. All-Russian Olympiad of School Students was the second time when I visited Saint Petersburg. That time I had even more opportunities to know the city.

In my opinion, it will be possible to decide what the city of your dream is only if you visit it or, what is better, visit as many different cities as possible. Another important thing is to live there some period of time. I cannot understand when people say that this or that city is the city of their dream but they have never been there.
Я люблю путешествовать. Путешествуя, я могу открыть для себя много интересных и замечательных мест, познакомиться с разными людьми и посетить разные достопримечательности. На мой взгляд, можно решить, какой именно город вашей мечты, только если вы посетите его или, что лучше, посетите как можно больше разных городов. Еще важно пожить там некоторое время. Я не могу понять, когда люди говорят, что тот или иной город – это город их мечты, но они никогда там не были.
Maybe, I visit not so many cities but once I visited Saint Petersburg. It was the love at the first sight. Of course, before my travel to Saint Petersburg I knew a lot about this city, I saw many photos of it and so on. However in this city I discovered much more than I expected of it.
Может быть, я посещаю не так много городов, но однажды я была в Санкт-Петербурге. Это была любовь с первого взгляда. Конечно, до своего путешествия в Санкт-Петербург я много знала об этом городе, видела много фотографий и так далее. Однако, находясь в этом городе, я открыла для себя гораздо больше, чем ожидала.
I was in Saint Petersburg twice and each time I was living there for one week. When it was my first journey I lived in Peterhof in the house of my relatives. I visited many sights in Peterhof and almost every day I went to Saint Petersburg, walked there and visited different museums. However also it was interesting for me to do something of daily routine there. So I can say that I knew what it meant to live there though a bit. All-Russian Olympiad of School Students was the second time when I visited Saint Petersburg. That time I had even more opportunities to know the city.
Я была в Санкт-Петербурге дважды, и каждый раз я жила там в течение одной недели. Когда это была моя первая поездка, я жила в Петергофе в доме моих родственников. Я посетила много достопримечательностей в Петергофе и почти каждый день ездила в Санкт-Петербург, гуляла там и посещала разные музеи. Однако мне было интересно также делать какие-то повседневные вещи. Поэтому я могу сказать, что я узнала, что значит жить в этом городе, пусть и немного. Всероссийская олимпиада школьников была моей второй поездкой в Санкт-Петербург. Тогда у меня было еще больше возможностей узнать город.
I like this city, its people and its sights. I hope I will visit Saint Petersburg as often as possible.
Мне нравится этот город, люди, которые там живут, и его достопримечательности. Надеюсь, что в будущем я смогу посещать Санкт-Петербург как можно чаще.
I live in a wonderful, beautiful town. I love it very much. The name of my town is Kotovo. It is situated not far from Volgograd.
I have arrived to live in this town recently. I have lived in St.-Petersburg before. Kotovo differs from big cities greatly. It is small and quiet. Life is measured, calm and kind. Everyone knows each other. People are kind, beautiful, native, close in my town. You don`t feel lonely here, as a rule it happens in big cities.
There are a library, a cinema, a palace of culture, a museum, a big sports hall and five schools in my town. Also there is a swimming pool in the sports hall. Children of my city like to visit it. There is a very beautiful central park. It is very beautiful in spring and summer. I like to have a rest, to sit on the bench and to read a book in the park. I like to walk on foot around the city, because I like to dream about my future. Kotovo is a magic place, especially in the evening. There are many old houses, monuments, small and narrow streets in the town. All these things create fantastic, mysterious atmosphere. I have met my love, my husband in this town.
Kotovo is the best town in the earth. And when I leave from it I always miss it very much. You can`t fall in love with my town.
Я живу в прекрасном, красивом городе. Я очень люблю его. Название моего города Котово. Он распложен не далеко от Волгограда.
Я приехала жить в этот город недавно. До этого я жила в Санкт-Петербурге. Котово очень отличается от больших городов. Он маленький и тихий. Жизнь размеренная, спокойная и добрая. Каждый знает друг друга. В моем Городе люди добрые, красивые, родные, близкие. Ты не чувствуешь себя одиноким здесь, как правило это случается в больших городах.
В моем городе есть библиотека, кинотеатр, дом культуры, музей, большой спортивный зал и пять школ. Также есть бассейн в спортивном зале. Дети моего города любят посещать его. Есть очень красивый центральный парк. Он очень красивый весной и летом. Я люблю отдохнуть, посидеть на скамейке и почитать книгу в этом парке. Я люблю гулять пешком по городу, потому что я люблю мечтать о будущем. Котово сказочное место, особенно вечером. Есть много старых домов, памятников, маленьких узких улиц в городе. Все эти вещи создают сказочную, таинственную атмосферу. Я встретила свою любовь, своего мужа в этом городе.
Котово самый лучший город на земле. И когда я уезжаю из него я всегда очень скучаю по нему. Вы не сможете не полюбить мой город.

I have a dream.
It’s a dream about city where I would like to live.
In this city people live in large cottages.
In front of the cottages are beautiful lawns.
And behind them there are a gardens and lakes.
The roads are wide and clean.
There are many trees and flowers on the streets.
People enjoy the beautiful parks and watch the ducks and swans on the lakes.
There are many cinemas, theatres, museums, restaurants, libraries in the city.
In the city of my dream there will be no crimes.
All people are very happy and friendly.
The little children in the city of my dream are charming with their pleasant smiles.
Every weekends all people enjoy the festivals and various programs of cultural events.
Today it’s only a dream.
But I believe that in the near future there will be many such wonderful cities.

У меня есть мечта.
Это мечта о городе, где я хотел бы жить.
В этом городе люди живут в больших коттеджах.
Перед коттеджами красивые газоны.
А за ними есть сады и озера.
Дороги широкие и чистые.
Есть много деревьев и цветов на улицах.
Люди наслаждаются красивыми парками и смотрят на уток и лебедей на озерах.
Есть много кинотеатров, театров, музеев, ресторанов, библиотек в городе.
В городе моей мечты не будет ни одного преступления.
Все люди очень счастливы и дружелюбны.
Маленькие дети в городе моей мечты очаровательны со своими приятными улыбками.
Каждые выходные все люди наслаждаются фестивалями и различными программами культурных мероприятий.
Сегодня это только мечта.
Но я считаю, что в ближайшем будущем будет много таких замечательных городов.
