My street is very nice and modern. It is not in the city center, it is in the suburbs. There are many houses in my street and the number of them is increasing every year. Also you can see some supermarkets, a filling station, a hotel, several office centers, cafes and bars.
My school is also located in this street. It is a new modern four-storeyed building that looks very nice. It is not far from my house so it does not take me long to get there.
There is a small park not far from my house. On warm sunny days you can see mothers with children walking there. Also there are some attractions and my friends and I like to go there very much.

My home
I would like to tell you about the house where I live together with my family. It’s a modern building and it is twelve storeys high. Our apartment is on the top floor, so we use an elevator to get there. I should say that the apartment is quite spacious but at the same time cosy.
Describing my home
The flat has got three rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. The living-room is the largest one with a sofa, wall units and two big comfortable armchairs in it. There is also a small coffee table between the armchairs. The floor is covered with a soft carpet. It’s the room where our family and friends get together. We usually watch TV there, play games or just chat and rest.
My parents’ bedroom
My parents’ bedroom is much smaller. There is a double bed with bedside cabinets and a wardrobe in the room. And, surely, it’s important to mention a dressing table with a mirror where my mom spends some time every morning putting make up and getting dressed.
My room
I must say I’m lucky to have my own room. The most necessary things for me there are my computer and DVD-player which I use most. There is also a bed, a wardrobe and a bookcase where I keep my textbooks and other important stuff.
Kitchen
The last place to describe is the kitchen. It’s very light and comfortable with a beautiful dining set in it. We meet there quite often when having breakfast or dinner. We’ve got a TV in the kitchen, so it’s like a real room.
Conveniences
We have all modern conveniences in our apartment such as gas, central heating, hot and cold running water. We also have modern electric appliances: a microwave, a washing machine, a vacuum-cleaner and others.

The bedroom is smaller than the living-room and not so light as there is only one window in it. In this room there are two beds. In this room we have a built-in wardrobe with coat-hangers to-hang clothes on. There is a thick carpet on the floor and plain light-brown curtains on the window. The third room is my study. Неподалеку от нас есть прекрасная река. Каждое лето мы с друзьями ходим туда отдыхать. Дорогой мы проходим мимо поля, проходим овраг, склоны которого густо покрыты шиповником. Там великолепный пейзаж и летом, когда куши покрытые розовыми цветами, и осенью, когда шиповник краснеет обильными ягодами.
А еще у нас есть источник, куда мы ходим по воду. Какая-то добрая человек сделал защитное сооружение над источником, чтобы в него не попадал никакой мусор. Дорога к нему занимает где-то минут тридцать, но она великолепна.

Мне очень нравится моя комната, потому что она моя собственная. Наша кухня не очень большая, но светлая. Она очень хорошо оборудована. У нас есть холодильник, микроволновая печь, кофеварка и тостер. Вечерами мы любим пить чай и отдыхать там.
Я живу на проспекте, который имеет название “Московский”. Эта улица появилась почти одновременно с Харьковской крепостью. Это крупнейшая и самая длинная улица в Харькове. ее длина свыше двадцать два километра. Харьковчане зовут Московский проспект “Аллеей гигантов”, потому что именно здесь расположены крупнейшие заводы города. Это и тракторный, и велосипедный, и станкостроительный, и моторостроительный, и подшипниковый, и электромеханический, и турбінобудівний.
Я живу на самом краю Московского проспекта. Раньше наш микрорайон называли “Бермудским треугольником”, потому что он действительно имеет форму треугольника и к нему было очень трудно добираться. Несколько лет назад было построено троллейбусную линию, и дела значительно улучшились.
Мой микрорайон окружают три дороги: железная дорога, окружная и трасса Московского проспекта. В микрорайоне почти все дома многоэтажные. У каждого из них множество деревьев, цветов.
Для малышей построено несколько детских площадок. На стадионе, который рядом с нашим домом, всегда можно поиграть в футбол, баскетбол или потренироваться. В микрорайоне есть два детсада и школа.
Неподалеку от нас есть прекрасная река. Каждое лето мы с друзьями ходим туда отдыхать. Дорогой мы проходим мимо поля, проходим овраг, склоны которого густо покрыты шиповником. Там великолепный пейзаж и летом, когда куши покрытые розовыми цветами, и осенью, когда шиповник краснеет обильными ягодами.
А еще у нас есть источник, куда мы ходим по воду. Какая-то добрая человек сделал защитное сооружение над источником, чтобы в него не попадал никакой мусор. Дорога к нему занимает где-то минут тридцать, но она великолепна.
Мне очень нравится наш микрорайон!
My name`s Dima. I live in Saint-Petersburg with my family. We live in a flat. My address is 8, Dybenko Street. My flat is big, comfortable and cosy. I`ve got three rooms: two bedrooms and a sitting room. There is a kitchen, a bathroom and a toilet.
My favourite room is a sitting room. It`s light and sunny. There is a wall unit, a TV, a musical center and a sofa in the sitting room.
My parents and I usually watch TV, meet friends, celebrate parties there. My mother likes flowers. You can see a lot of flowers in my flat. Every day my num cleans the rooms and waters the flowers. I help her.
I like my flat because there is no place like home.

A person’s home is as much a reflection of his personality as the clothes he wears, the food he eats and the friends he spends his time with. Everybody has in mind an “ideal house” and an “ideal home”. How do I see my “ideal house”, how do I see my life there?
There are many kinds of dwellings, from town houses, which include terraced houses, semi-detached, detached houses, to country houses.
I want to live in my own house, maybe in a cottage in the suburbs. My house will consist of the ground and the first floor. There will be six rooms in it. In front of the house I will have a small garden with different flowers. I’ll also have a garage for my car.
Here is a brief description of the house I dream of. My bathroom is very good-looking: the walls are tiled in cream, the washbasin, the toilet are pastel pink. My towels are also pink. Then I go to the kitchen to have breakfast. It is always pleasant to cook in it because it is very comfortable. I make my tea and sandwiches and have breakfast. Then I go to my work, but in the evening “there is no place like home”. I have rest in the living-room. I can sit on the sofa and read or watch TV. Then I go to the bedroom. It is my favourite room. Here I sleep and see my sweet dreams.
