Our flat is on the fifth floor. It’s very comfortable and well-planned. We have all modern conveniences, such as central heating, electricity, gas, cold and hot running water, and a telephone.
There are three rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a hall in our flat. There’s also a balcony and we can enjoy a lovely view of the river.

We have recently moved to a new flat. We had a housewarming party yesterday. Our new flat is much more spacious than the previous one and everybody has his/her own room. My room is very big. It’s decorated with bright and warm colors and everything adds to the feeling of contentment and relaxing there. It looks grand because of two wide windows on a wall with no curtains. The room is a whole world for me where I can keep my stuff: diaries, textbooks, dolls, posters, magazines, dresses, etc.
The room is furnished with cute double bed in the right corner of the room, a desk with chair , some bookshelves, a small coffee table next to the desk, a sofa with cushions, and a drawing easel. There is a wooden rocking-chair in front of the bed. It was made by my father. As for the desk, it contains numerous drawers where I can keep jewelry and beauty care products. There are two bedside tables on the left of the bed and a big alarm clock on one of them. There are three pictures on walls. One of them was bought in Paris two years ago. Other pictures were drawn by me and my little sister.
I don’t like wallpapers, that’s why walls of the room are decorated with wooden panels and photos. There is no carpet on the floor, because I prefer laminated flooring with no other decorations. There is a big mirror on the wall. The coffee table is situated under the mirror. There are flowers in pots, magazines, a paddle brush and my favorite cup on it. There is also a dream catcher on the window. This decoration catches good dreams and releases from bad ones.
When I have free time I’m reading different books of English and Russian writers, sitting in a rocking chair and dreaming about my future. I spend most of the time in my room and I’m glad it’s so comfortable. Because it’s really important.

Walls in the living-room are creamy coloured. There is a big painting with flowers on one of them and a clock on another. There are two big windows with white lace curtains. The windowsills are wide and there are some potted plants on them. There is a big dark yellow carpet on the floor. We have got a big chandelier and two small sconces in our living-room.

We have four rooms in our house. But my favourite one is our study which is the biggest room.
It is full of wonderful things: books, pictures, collections of coins, a video and computer. There is a very old writing table in the study. My great granddad bought it in the beginning of the century when he was a student. It is very old, solid and comfortable.
There is a sofa in the corner of the room and next to it a beautiful old standard lamp, which is on the carpet. I clean the carpet with the vacuum cleaner very often. There is a piano near the window. At night when it gets dark I like to turn off the light, turn on the standard lamp and play the piano. When the standard lamp is on, the study looks like a fairy-land. I often sit in the old armchair and dream of pleasant things. I love this room very much.
But my brother likes our living-room. He has got a very good stereo system there. He plays his music very loudly in this room. This room is not very comfortable. There is a fireplace in it, but nevertheless it’s a little cold in winter. There is also an armchair, a sofa and some shelves with compact discs. My brother spends much time in this room.
My Favourite Room
We live in a new 16-storeyed block of flats. It’s situated in a very picturesque place. There’s a big supermarket on the ground floor and it’s very convenient to do everyday shopping.
Our flat is on the fifth floor. It’s very comfortable and well-planned. We have all modern conveniences, such as central heating, electricity, gas, cold and hot running water, and a telephone.
There are three rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a hall in our flat. There’s also a balcony and we can enjoy a lovely view of the river.
The largest room in our flat is the living room, and we use it as a dining room, too. In the middle of the room there is a big table and six chairs around it. Opposite the window there is a wall unit with lots of books, a TV-set, and a DVD-player.
There are two comfortable armchairs and a small coffee table in the right-hand corner. There is also a sofa and an electric fire in our living room. We like our living room, so in the evenings we gather there to have tea, watch TV, talk, and rest.
Our kitchen is large and light. It is well-equipped. We have got a refrigerator, a freezer, a microwave oven, a coffeemaker, and a toaster. We haven’t got a dishwasher yet, because it is very expensive. But I’m sure we shall buy it in the nearest future.
My favourite room is the smallest room in our flat, but it is very cosy and light. There is a bed, a wardrobe, a desk, an armchair, and several bookshelves here. There is a thick carpet on the floor.
The walls in my room are light brown and there are some big posters on them. I like my room very much, but from time to time I change it round. I quite often move the bed and change the posters on the wall.

We have recently moved to a new flat. We had a housewarming party yesterday. Our new flat is much more spacious than the previous one and everybody has his/her own room. My room is very big. It’s decorated with bright and warm colors and everything adds to the feeling of contentment and relaxing there. It looks grand because of two wide windows on a wall with no curtains. The room is a whole world for me where I can keep my stuff: diaries, textbooks, dolls, posters, magazines, dresses, etc.
The room is furnished with cute double bed in the right corner of the room, a desk with chair , some bookshelves, a small coffee table next to the desk, a sofa with cushions, and a drawing easel. There is a wooden rocking-chair in front of the bed. It was made by my father. As for the desk, it contains numerous drawers where I can keep jewelry and beauty care products. There are two bedside tables on the left of the bed and a big alarm clock on one of them. There are three pictures on walls. One of them was bought in Paris two years ago. Other pictures were drawn by me and my little sister.
I don’t like wallpapers, that’s why walls of the room are decorated with wooden panels and photos. There is no carpet on the floor, because I prefer laminated flooring with no other decorations. There is a big mirror on the wall. The coffee table is situated under the mirror. There are flowers in pots, magazines, a paddle brush and my favorite cup on it. There is also a dream catcher on the window. This decoration catches good dreams and releases from bad ones.
When I have free time I’m reading different books of English and Russian writers, sitting in a rocking chair and dreaming about my future. I spend most of the time in my room and I’m glad it’s so comfortable. Because it’s really important.

Я использую свою комнату и как место для занятий, и как спальню. Она уютная и удобная. В моей комнате немного мебели, только все самое необходимое. Встроенная в стены мебель не занимает много места.
Слева стоит моя кровать и мой письменный стол. В столе много ящиков, в которых я храню мои учебники, тетради, ручки, карандаши и другие необходимые вещи. Справа стоит диван и встроенный шкаф. В правом углу расположено удобное кресло. Рядом с ним — лампа с голубым абажуром. Мне нравится включить лампу, сесть в кресло и читать интересную книгу.
В моей комнате есть несколько книжных полок. На них можно увидеть книги на русском и английском языках. На полу лежит большой толстый ковер. На стене висят несколько плакатов с моими любимыми исполнителями.
Мне очень нравится моя комната. Когда друзья приходят меня проведать, я всегда приглашаю их в свою комнату. Моя комната — хорошее место для отдыха и для работы.

Walls in the living-room are creamy coloured. There is a big painting with flowers on one of them and a clock on another. There are two big windows with white lace curtains. The windowsills are wide and there are some potted plants on them. There is a big dark yellow carpet on the floor. We have got a big chandelier and two small sconces in our living-room.
There is a big sandy coloured sofa in the room. In front of the sofa we have got a small glass coffee table. There are two cupboards where we keep crystal tableware, beautiful statuettes and souvenirs.
Between the cupboards there is a TV stand with a big TV set on it. Above the TV set there are some bookshelves. We keep a lot of books and magazines on the shelves.
Opposite the cupboards and the TV set there are two soft sandy coloured armchairs. Between them there is a big potted plant. It is a lemon tree. We bought it last year, but we have already had the first harvest of lemons.
Гостиная – самая большая комната в нашем доме. Она очень светлая. Наша семья часто собирается вместе в гостиной. Мы смотрим телевизор, разговариваем, пьем чай, играем в настольные игры и т.д.
Стены в гостиной кремового цвета. На одной из них висит большая картина с цветами, а на другой – часы. В комнате два больших окна с белыми тюлевыми шторами. Подоконники широкие, и на них стоят несколько горшков с комнатными растениями. На полу большой темно-желтый ковер. В нашей гостиной есть большая люстра и два небольших бра.
В комнате есть большой диван песочного цвета. Перед диваном стоит маленький стеклянный журнальный столик. В гостиной есть два шкафа, в которых мы храним хрустальную посуду, красивые статуэтки и сувениры.
Между шкафами стоит подставка, на которой стоит большой телевизор. Над телевизором несколько книжных полок, на которых мы храним множество книг и журналов.
Напротив шкафов и телевизора два мягких кресла песочного цвета. Между ними стоит большое растение в горшке. Это лимонное дерево. Мы купили его в прошлом году, но у нас уже был первый урожай лимонов.
Мне посчастливилось иметь свою собственную комнату с самого детства. Вначале, правда, я делила ее со своей сестрой и когда мне исполнилось 12 лет, родители дали отдельную комнату моей сестре.
Это комната обычного размера, с постерами на стенах и небольшим бардаком повсюду. Мне нравится приводить свою комнату в порядок самой, но мама всегда пытается прибраться тут вместо меня. Я складываю свои вещи и одежду там, где я захочу, рощу комнатные цветы на окошке и живу с белой крысой в одной комнате. Иногда я приглашаю друзей сюда и мы можем сидеть до полуночи. Конечно, если мама и папа согласны и нам с друзьями не нужно идти в школу на следующий день. Моим подругам нравится моя комната очень сильно, они считают ее большой и светлой. Но мне бы хотелось иметь комнату большего размера. Но тут действительно немало места. Когда подружки приходят ко мне, мы даже можем танцевать. Пару месяцев назад в школе был концерт. Мы должны были поставить танец с подружками. Две недели мы репетировали в моей комнате и составили чудесный танец.
Моя комната – это мой замок. Если я хочу побыть в одиночестве или послушать музыку, я остаюсь в своей комнате. Я люблю читать там книги, смотреть фильмы, болтать по телефону и много чего ещё. Здесь я та, кто я есть на самом деле. Если я грущу, тут я могу поплакать или насладиться моментами счастья. В любом случае, это мое личное пространство.
Я считаю, что у каждого должно быть такое место, где можно расслабиться, послушать любимую музыку или пообщаться с друзьями. И я очень благодарна моим родителям, что они подарили мне возможность жить отдельно в комнате и быть ответственной за своё «жилище».
