We live in a new 16-storeyed block of flats. It’s situated in a very picturesque place. There’s a big supermarket on the ground floor and it’s very convenient to do everyday shopping.
Our flat is on the fifth floor. It’s very comfortable and well-planned. We have all modern conveniences, such as central heating, electricity, gas, cold and hot running water, and telephone. There are three rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a hall in our flat. There’s also a balcony and we can enjoy a lovely view of the river.
The largest room in our flat is the living room and we use it as a dining I room also. In the middle of the room there is a big table and six chairs round it. Opposite the window there is a wall unit with lots of books, a TV-set, and a video cassette recorder. There are two comfortable armchairs and a small coffee table in the right-hand corner. There is also a sofa and an electric fire in our living room. We like the living room best of all, so in the evenings we gather there to have tea, watch TV, talk, and rest.

I use my room
My room is the place where I spend most of my home time. It’s quite spacious and has a lot of light due to a big French window. My room is not just a place where I can relax, it is also a place where I can work! There are many large and exotic plants. It creates a special atmosphere here.
I love traveling and soccer, so on the walls in my room there are a lot of pictures and posters of footballers or different countries. Also I collect model cars, so on my shelf you can see a number of beautiful and old-fashioned cars. I personally believe that precisely this collection of selected cars and posters on the walls makes my room a bit special and unique.
There is also a stereo system and a guitar. Sometimes when I stay home alone, I turn on the music at full volume, or play guitar with friends. No matter what anyone says, my room is great!

I use my room
My room is the place where I spend most of my home time. It’s quite spacious and has a lot of light due to a big French window. The walls are warm beige and bright curtains hanging over the window add colour to a room. I use my room as a study and a bedroom. There’s a large writing desk at the window. There’s a laptop and a desk tidy on the desk and a bookshelf full of textbooks, reference books and dictionaries next to it. Here I do my homework, prepare for tests and exams, surf the Internet, play computer games or watch movies. I also use it for my hobby which is modeling, so when I sit down to assemble a new car or airplane model I clean the top and put everything aside. I have a special wall in my room where I keep the models. They rest on several shelves and whenever somebody comes to visit us in our flat my parents show them to the guests.

The largest room in our flat is the living room, and we use it as a dining room, too. In the middle of the room there is a big table and six chairs around it. Opposite the window there is a wall unit with lots of books, a TV-set, and a DVD-player.
There are two comfortable armchairs and a small coffee table in the right-hand corner. There is also a sofa and an electric fire in our living room. We like our living room, so in the evenings we gather there to have tea, watch TV, talk, and rest.
