Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is a Russian statesman and politician, acting President of the Russian Federation and Supreme Commander of the Russian Armed forces.
He was born on October 1, 1952, in Leningrad, Russia in ordinary family of workers. He was the only child in a family. They were not rich and lived in a communal apartment with other people.
As Putin had got a law degree in 1975, he joined the KGB, the security force of the former Soviet Union. Then he been working in the KGB for 15 years, not only in Russia, but also in Germany. In 1983 he got married Lyudmila Shkrebneva and got two daughters. However, he is divorced today.
For the first time he became a president of Russian Federation in 2000, then he left the position and became a prime minister in 2008. So, he had been re-elected again in 2012.
Many people believe that the President conducts a very competent foreign policy, trying to reduce some tension between Russia and other countries that arises due to various reasons, but the President’s domestic policy is very weak. Unfortunately, the number of rich people and oligarchs as well as the poor is growing, and the economy is falling. However, the President as a head of Government periodically offers various solutions to help the population: hotlines, social packages, demographic programs, etc.

Many of us have some wishes for the countries we live in that we desire to fulfill to bring some positive changes about. Of course, we have limited powers as humble citizens, but we still have certain rights. If I were a president of the country I would pay attention to three main problems. First of all, I would strengthen and improve the educational system. Education level has notable dropped since last decades. It seems that there is much more pressure on students but lesser outcome. Secondly, I would work to create the egalitarian society, where people of all races, religious beliefs, nations, occupations, interests have the same rights. Thirdly, I would supply everyone with decent jobs, although for this accomplishment many new factories and plants should be built, or new companies established. These three issues are the first on the list of changes. Other than that, there are many things that I would try to improve in the country if I were a president. For example, I would lower the taxes for those who live in poor conditions. I would develop the area of space exploration as it is important to know more about our galaxy. And, I would certainly oppose the wars and terrorism. I’m against any type of violence in the world. Thus, I would try to make my country a more peaceful place to live. I’m also concerned about children, who live in orphanages. If it was up to me, I would supply them with all the necessary things: clothing, toys, books, good food and attention. Vladimir Putin was born in Leningrad on October 7, 1952.
In 1975, he graduated with a degree in law from Leningrad State University. He later earned a Ph.D. degree in economics.
After graduation, Mr. Putin was assigned to work in the KGB. From 1985 to 1990, he worked in East Germany.
In 1990, he became assistant to the rector of Leningrad State University responsible for international affairs.
His next position was an advisor to the chairman of the Leningrad City Council.
In June 1991, he became chairman of the St. Petersburg City Council’s International Relations Committee and, starting with 1994, he combined this post with the position of First Deputy Chairman of the St. Petersburg City Government (First Deputy Mayor).

If I were the president of Russia I would improve the health care service in my country. In comparison with other European countries Russia has a very high death rate. In many provincial regions of the country there is a lack of highly qualified specialized medical care. Medical personnel work in poorly equipped clinics and hospitals. The sick people have to wait to be operated on for many years. Moreover, medical care is not always free, so people often have to pay for medical treatment. So, I were the president I would invest money in the development of medical techniques and technologies.
Secondly, as the president I would take active measures to stop environmental pollution in our country. If the air we breathe, the water we drink, the soil which produces our crops become more and more polluted, then we will suffer from many kinds of diseases and health problems. So, this problem needs to be solved as soon as possible.
To sum up, if I were the president of Russia, I would pay my attention to these important problems, because the health of the people is an index of the prosperity and well being of the country.
Если бы я была президентом России, я бы улучшила услуги здравоохранения в нашей стране. В сравнении с другими Европейскими странами Россия имеет очень высокий уровень смертности. Во многих провинциальных регионах нашей страны отсутствует высококвалифицированная специализированная медицинская помощь. Медицинский персонал работает в плохо оборудованных клиниках и больницах. Больным приходится ждать несколько лет, чтобы им была сделана операция. Более того, медицинское обслуживание не всегда бесплатное, поэтому людям часто приходится платить за медицинское лечение. Поэтому, если бы я была президентом, я бы инвестировала деньги в развитие медицинского оборудования и медицинских технологий.
Во-вторых, как президент, я бы приняла активные меры для того, чтобы остановить загрязнение окружающей среды в нашей стране. Если воздух, которым мы дышим, вода, которую мы пьем, почва, которую мы используем для выращивания урожая будет все больше и больше загрязняться, тогда мы будем страдать от разных заболеваний и иметь различные проблемы со здоровьем.
