Я очень благодарен нашим учителям. Они добрые и умные, и не только дают нам знания, но и любят нас. Я надеюсь, что полученное мной в школе образование создаст хорошую базу для моей будущей профессии. The subjects we do at school
School in our lives
All people in their childhood study at school. However, not all students like going there because it’s hard to get up early every day and do a lot of homework but school plays a great role in our life. We get the principal knowledge and make good friends in school.
My school
My school offers a general course of academic and non-academic subjects and gives secondary education. Besides, it suggests a number of courses in a variety of fields: the humanities, mathematics, natural sciences. I’m also proud that we have very well trained teaching staff, so the quality of teaching is at the top level.
Subjects at school
We learn a lot of different subjects at school such as Russian and foreign languages, Literature, Maths, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Arts and Computing. There are special labs for Chemistry and Physics. We also have two computer classes which is great I suppose as computing is one of the most important subjects nowadays. I really like History lessons as our teacher often takes us on excursions to different cities and places of interest. But my favourite subject is English. I enjoy dramatizing texts and dialogues, learning new words and grammar, setting up role plays or just communicating in English. Now I’m able to speak about my family, holidays, writers and their books, about weather and nature, about my friends and many other things. Sometimes we play language games and it’s indeed a lot of fun.
A basis for my future occupation
I’m very thankful to our teachers. They’re kind and clever and give all their knowledge and love to the pupils. I hope my school education will form a basis for my future occupation. It goes without saying that I’ll need some extra knowledge to pass my entrance exams to the university. That is why I take a preparatory course at the university.

We did quite a lot of subjects at school. They were: Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Russian Literature, Chemistry, English, History of this country and many other subjects.
It was rather difficult to go to school when a school-leaver, we had so much to do. I know that all the subjects are important and they all must be paid much attention to, but still I didn’t like exact sciences.
I spent much time on doing them at home. However hard I tried, all those formulas and definitions were mixed up in my head and I couldn’t make it out after all. So I had nothing to do but sit for two or three hours swotting Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
My favourite subjects were Literature, History, English.
Most of all I liked English. I read English books, tried to translate some stories from newspapers from English into Russian and vice versa.
I had some English handbooks and they were of great help to me when I studied English Grammar and did some exercises. At our English lessons we read quite a lot of dull texts from our textbooks.
But in my view, written texts and textbooks are not important. The best way to improve your language skills and habits is to work at a language laboratory.
But there was no good language laboratory at our school. And I spent plenty of time at home listening to the tapes, imitating the sounds and intonations of the native speakers of English.
I was working hard at my pronunciation because my teacher said that it was my weak point. Sometimes I spoke English with my friends after classes and they said I was making good progress in the language.
I decided to take my entrance exams to the Institute because I want to know English.
Nowadays, it’s impossible to do without foreign languages because of expanding economic, cultural ties of this country with other countries of the world. Besides, one can’t be a learned and well-educated person if he doesn’t know at least one foreign language.
As for me, I’d like to read English and American Literature, to understand it without resorting to anybody’s help.

At school everyone is fortunate to study a variety of subjects which means that you are given an ideal opportunity to find out which subject you enjoy and which you are particularly good at. The Russian language, Russian literature and Maths are compulsory subjects at school and then we study French, English, Geography, History, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Religious Studies, Art, Music.
I especially like languages – which is why when we had the choice at school at the age of fourteen I chose to learn German instead of continuing with Physics. Languages are always very interesting at our school because I have very good and enthusiastic teachers.They are strict so they make sure that at the initial stage of our course we learn all the basic vocabulary straight away.The only problem that we have is that we don’t do enough oral work because we always concentrate on our written language.
Perhaps my favorite teacher is my maths teacher and this is because I do not find maths particularly easy and she spends a lot of time explaining things to me actually making the subject interesting.
I consider myself to have been very lucky to have had such kind, considerate and enthusiastic teachers. They are a credit to their profession and they certainly encouraged me to consider teaching as a career.

I study in the 9th form of a secondary school. Our school is a modern four-storeyed building. It is very well equipped. We go to school five days a week. At school we have classes in various subjects. The programme of studies includes (1) the Russian Languages and Literature, English, Mathematics, Biology, Geography, Technical Drawing, History, Physics, Chemistry, Physical training, Computer Science.
The Russian Languages, Literature, History and English are called humanities (2). At the lessons of humanities we get to know about famous Russian and English writers, read and discuss their books, study grammar rules and do many grammar exercises, write compositions (3) and dictations.
At the English lessons we listen to the cassette-recorder, speak out what we have heard. Sometimes it is a story; sometimes it is a dialogue or a conversation. We speak English a lot, but we read the texts from our textbook, too.
Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing are called exact sciences (4). At these lessons we do sums, learn laws, that govern (5) the structure of the universe (6), study the forms of matter and energy, the composition of matter and the changes that take place in it under certain conditions (8).
My favourite subject is certainly English. I always give my preference (9) to the humanities. I do well in (10) these subjects without any effort (11). I always look forward to the next English lesson. I never get bad marks in my English because I always prepare my homework well. But I am not very good at (12) Chemistry. I always fail (13) to remember formulas and terms properly (14).
Mathematics and Physics are the most difficult subjects for me, but I try to do my best to cope with home tasks in them.

I can’t but mention our teacher of English who devoted all her energy and talent to making us speak good English. Teaching was her genuine vocation, she was fond of the job and she was tolerant and patient with us and her lessons were always catching and instructive. She was a nice person in every way and interesting to talk to. She had been to different countries, and had pen friends in England and America. Often she brought letters and pictures, books and magazines;, records and videos making our lessons very interesting. She always did her best to meet our requirements and consider our opinions. She was never indifferent to any of us or to what she was doing. It goes without saying that there was mutual understanding between the teacher and most of the pupils. I enjoyed our English literature lessons most of all. As I am fond of reading, they encouraged me to read books by such writers as Walter Scott and Oscar Wilde in the original And in class as well as at home I liked translating texts and sentences and practising grammar. I also loved looking up unknown words in the dictionary. I am convinced that learning a foreign language is a hard job, it’s neither quick nor easy to learn to speak good English.
Our teacher succeeded in making us learn English individually at home and she welcomed our personal views on different activities. She did her best to convince us that learning foreign languages is a strong requirement of modern life. She said that every educated person should be able to speak at least one foreign language, and in many aspects of life English is the key and it has a great influence everywhere. English is spoken and studied all over the world by more than 700 million people. It has become the language of international communication. International business and diplomatic relations are conducted in English. Nearly eighty per cent of scientific writing is in English and it is the international language of pop culture. That’s why so much attention is paid to teaching foreign languages at school and foreign language teachers are in great demand today.
I’m definitely sure that my future career should be connected with foreign languages. I want to perfect my knowledge of English, especially my speaking and listening skills. I don’t know what career I will follow in future but I know for sure it will be connected with foreign languages, either teaching or interpreting.

Before I start speaking about my favourite subject at school I must say that I study at an ordinary secondary school in a small town of Mogilev region. In senior forms we are taught many different subjects: social and natural studies, science and of course, humanities. I can’t say that I like all of them or that I am really good at all of them. There are some subject I like more than others, there are some I really enjoy and at the same time there are some subjects that I have to learn whether I like them or not. So it’s much more pleasant for me to speak about the subject I like best. My favourite subjects are humanities, Russian and Belarusian literatures in particular. Since early childhood I’ve been fond of reading fairy-tales and as I grew older I liked reading historical novels and fiction books. I can always borrow books from the school or public libraries in the town and I’ve got a good home library as well.
My love for reading was encouraged at school by my teacher of Russian, who is a highly educated and a well-read person herself. Her lessons are always an event, she can give a lot of interesting information about different books and writers’ life stories. What is no less important is the patience with which she listens to our opinions with respect, no matter whether we are right or wrong in our conclusions. She teaches us to consider different points of view. We can discuss any problem at her lessons, let it be A. Ostrovsky’s plays or the problems of today. She always makes us give examples from different books in support of our opinions and in the end we see that we become more educated, better informed and more thoughtful people. I am more than sure that a pupil’s attitude to this or that subject depends on a teacher.
I like English as well, but only two lessons a week are not enough to learn it properly. I am fond of translating and discussing topics, but I must admit that I can’t say much in English. I think I can read and understand not very complicated texts and have satisfactory knowledge of grammar but I am almost helpless at understanding native English speech. I listen to many English songs without understanding most words. It’s a pity. I hope to learn better English when I go to university. My ambition is to study journalism and become a reporter on international events. So my choice of the future profession is connected with my favourite subject at school.
My Favourite Subject
My name is Alice. I’m fourteen years old. I study in the seventh grade of a secondary school. We study lots of subjects at school, such as Maths, Biology, Geography and many others. I think all these subjects are interesting and useful, however, I’ve always preferred Humanities. I particularly like foreign languages and my favourite subject is English. There are several reasons for that. First of all, English is the most popular language in the world nowadays. Moreover, it’s the international language, which, to my mind, is very important. Although there are sometimes difficult tasks, such as doing grammar exercises, writing essays, learning large texts, the majority of activities are very interesting. We sometimes learn English proverbs, songs, poetry and even play games. After all, school is not the only place where I learn English. I take every opportunity to improve my knowledge at home or with my friends. We often watch films and programmes in English, or read authentic books and magazines. В каждом языке встречается бесконечное множество таких различий. Я читала книги на английском языке, пыталась переводить статьи из “Московских новостей”.
Очень часто я брала книги на английском из нашей школьной библиотеки. Я потратила много времени, изучая грамматику и выполняя упражнения.
На наших уроках по английскому языку мы достаточно много читали, но не очень много разговаривали. Поэтому я и мои друзья решили говорить по-английски между собой.

We study a lot of various and interesting subjects at school. Some of them are humanities, others – exact sciences. Human beings are not similar in their abilities, so we can be good at different things. I find Technical Drawing the most difficult school subject for me but I am lucky to sit next to a smart boy who always helps and explains complicated things to me.
I can’t say that I’m quite bad at Maths, Chemistry or Physics because I love doing sums, learning amazing laws of our universe and studying different forms of energy and matter. But most of all I enjoy Russian and English languages. I am very grateful to my teachers who evoked my true interest in these subjects. They are real professionals dedicated to their jobs and their lessons are always extremely useful and informative.
Reading good Russian books and discussing them at our classes is my cup of tea. I love writing compositions where I can express my opinions and feelings. I have always paid special attention to Russian grammar rules as I am totally convinced that beautiful speech and correct writing are very important in our life and at work.
My favourite activities at our English classes are making up interesting dialogues and acting out conversations. My teacher encourages me to read additional English literature, although I can read only adapted books at present. But If I work hard at my English and train every day I will be able to read them in the original and speak fluently in a couple of years. I hope so. I am sure that being in love with my subject helps me greatly to cope with some difficulties in studying grammar, vocabulary and spelling.
I would like my future profession to be connected with English language. It may have something to do with the tourist business or international relations.

Я очень благодарен нашим учителям. Они добрые и умные, и не только дают нам знания, но и любят нас. Я надеюсь, что полученное мной в школе образование создаст хорошую базу для моей будущей профессии. Несомненно, потребуются дополнительные знания, чтобы сдать вступительные экзамены в университет. Вот посему я занимаюсь на университетских подготовительных курсах.

The subjects we do at school
School in our lives
All people in their childhood study at school. However, not all students like going there because it’s hard to get up early every day and do a lot of homework but school plays a great role in our life. We get the principal knowledge and make good friends in school.
My school
My school offers a general course of academic and non-academic subjects and gives secondary education. Besides, it suggests a number of courses in a variety of fields: the humanities, mathematics, natural sciences. I’m also proud that we have very well trained teaching staff, so the quality of teaching is at the top level.
Subjects at school
We learn a lot of different subjects at school such as Russian and foreign languages, Literature, Maths, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Arts and Computing. There are special labs for Chemistry and Physics. We also have two computer classes which is great I suppose as computing is one of the most important subjects nowadays. I really like History lessons as our teacher often takes us on excursions to different cities and places of interest. But my favourite subject is English. I enjoy dramatizing texts and dialogues, learning new words and grammar, setting up role plays or just communicating in English. Now I’m able to speak about my family, holidays, writers and their books, about weather and nature, about my friends and many other things. Sometimes we play language games and it’s indeed a lot of fun.
A basis for my future occupation
I’m very thankful to our teachers. They’re kind and clever and give all their knowledge and love to the pupils. I hope my school education will form a basis for my future occupation. It goes without saying that I’ll need some extra knowledge to pass my entrance exams to the university. That is why I take a preparatory course at the university.
Conclusion
I’m sure I’ll always remember my school years.
We did quite a lot of subjects at school. They were: Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Russian Literature, Chemistry, English, History of this country and many other subjects.
It was rather difficult to go to school when a school-leaver, we had so much to do. I know that all the subjects are important and they all must be paid much attention to, but still I didn’t like exact sciences.
I spent much time on doing them at home. However hard I tried, all those formulas and definitions were mixed up in my head and I couldn’t make it out after all. So I had nothing to do but sit for two or three hours swotting Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
My favourite subjects were Literature, History, English.
Most of all I liked English. I read English books, tried to translate some stories from newspapers from English into Russian and vice versa.
I had some English handbooks and they were of great help to me when I studied English Grammar and did some exercises. At our English lessons we read quite a lot of dull texts from our textbooks.
But in my view, written texts and textbooks are not important. The best way to improve your language skills and habits is to work at a language laboratory.
But there was no good language laboratory at our school. And I spent plenty of time at home listening to the tapes, imitating the sounds and intonations of the native speakers of English.
I was working hard at my pronunciation because my teacher said that it was my weak point. Sometimes I spoke English with my friends after classes and they said I was making good progress in the language.
I decided to take my entrance exams to the Institute because I want to know English.
Nowadays, it’s impossible to do without foreign languages because of expanding economic, cultural ties of this country with other countries of the world. Besides, one can’t be a learned and well-educated person if he doesn’t know at least one foreign language.
As for me, I’d like to read English and American Literature, to understand it without resorting to anybody’s help.

Я решил сдавать вступительные экзамены в институт, потому что я хочу знать английский язык.

At school everyone is fortunate to study a variety of subjects which means that you are given an ideal opportunity to find out which subject you enjoy and which you are particularly good at. The Russian language, Russian literature and Maths are compulsory subjects at school and then we study French, English, Geography, History, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Religious Studies, Art, Music.
I especially like languages – which is why when we had the choice at school at the age of fourteen I chose to learn German instead of continuing with Physics. Languages are always very interesting at our school because I have very good and enthusiastic teachers.They are strict so they make sure that at the initial stage of our course we learn all the basic vocabulary straight away.The only problem that we have is that we don’t do enough oral work because we always concentrate on our written language.
Perhaps my favorite teacher is my maths teacher and this is because I do not find maths particularly easy and she spends a lot of time explaining things to me actually making the subject interesting.
I consider myself to have been very lucky to have had such kind, considerate and enthusiastic teachers. They are a credit to their profession and they certainly encouraged me to consider teaching as a career.

I study in the 9th form of a secondary school. Our school is a modern four-storeyed building. It is very well equipped. We go to school five days a week. At school we have classes in various subjects. The programme of studies includes (1) the Russian Languages and Literature, English, Mathematics, Biology, Geography, Technical Drawing, History, Physics, Chemistry, Physical training, Computer Science.
The Russian Languages, Literature, History and English are called humanities (2). At the lessons of humanities we get to know about famous Russian and English writers, read and discuss their books, study grammar rules and do many grammar exercises, write compositions (3) and dictations.
At the English lessons we listen to the cassette-recorder, speak out what we have heard. Sometimes it is a story; sometimes it is a dialogue or a conversation. We speak English a lot, but we read the texts from our textbook, too.
Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing are called exact sciences (4). At these lessons we do sums, learn laws, that govern (5) the structure of the universe (6), study the forms of matter and energy, the composition of matter and the changes that take place in it under certain conditions (8).
My favourite subject is certainly English. I always give my preference (9) to the humanities. I do well in (10) these subjects without any effort (11). I always look forward to the next English lesson. I never get bad marks in my English because I always prepare my homework well. But I am not very good at (12) Chemistry. I always fail (13) to remember formulas and terms properly (14).
Mathematics and Physics are the most difficult subjects for me, but I try to do my best to cope with home tasks in them.
In general I like school and my school life.

Учебная программа включает в себя русский язык и литература, английский язык, математику, биологию, географию, чертежи, историю, физику, химию, физкультуру, информатику.
Русский язык, литература, история и английский язык – это гуманитарные предметы. Я обычно с нетерпением жду следующий урок английского языка и никогда не получаю плохих оценок, потому что хорошо выполняю домашние задания. Но я не очень хорошо справляюсь с химией. Мне всегда трудно запомнить надлежащем образом формулы и определения терминов.
Для меня математика и физика – самые сложные предметы, но я стараюсь как можно лучше справиться с домашними заданиями из этих предметов.
Вообще мне нравится школа и школьная жизнь.

Hello! My name is Pavel Slepchenko. I am twelve. I am a pupil of the fifth form. I study at the secondary school in a small Siberian village Parbig. My school is big and light.
My classmates are merry, clever and a bit lazy. But we try to study well. Boys and girls usually discuss their problems, talk loudly, run and jump during the break. Also we can draw funny pictures and play games during the break. I think it’s great!
I have got new subjects at school this year: I.T., Geography and History. My favourite subjects are I.T. and English. Teachers always put good marks at the I.T. and English lessons.
In I.T. class we learn how to use computers and I like to work on a computer very much. We study to operate such computer programs as MS Word and Paint. I like to make presentations and paintings.
Also I am fond of studying English. During the lessons we read and discuss texts, learn English songs and poems by heart, play games, ask and answer questions, learn new words and write our own fairy tales. We also learn about English history and traditions. I take part in interesting contests connected with the English language and I would like to visit Great Britain.

Ученики моего класса весёлые, умные и немного ленивые. Но мы стараемся хорошо учиться. На переменах мальчики и девочки обсуждают свои проблемы, громко разговаривают, бегают и прыгают. Также мы можем рисовать смешные картинки и играть в игры на переменах. Я думаю, что это здорово!
В этом году у меня появились новые предметы: информатика, география и история. Мои любимые школьные предметы – информатика и английский. Учителя всегда ставят хорошие отметки на уроках информатики и английского. На уроках информатики мы учимся пользоваться компьютером, и мне очень нравится работать на компьютере. I can’t but mention our teacher of English who devoted all her energy and talent to making us speak good English. Teaching was her genuine vocation, she was fond of the job and she was tolerant and patient with us and her lessons were always catching and instructive. She was a nice person in every way and interesting to talk to. She had been to different countries, and had pen friends in England and America. Often she brought letters and pictures, books and magazines;, records and videos making our lessons very interesting. She always did her best to meet our requirements and consider our opinions. She was never indifferent to any of us or to what she was doing. It goes without saying that there was mutual understanding between the teacher and most of the pupils. I enjoyed our English literature lessons most of all. As I am fond of reading, they encouraged me to read books by such writers as Walter Scott and Oscar Wilde in the original And in class as well as at home I liked translating texts and sentences and practising grammar. I also loved looking up unknown words in the dictionary. I am convinced that learning a foreign language is a hard job, it’s neither quick nor easy to learn to speak good English.
Our teacher succeeded in making us learn English individually at home and she welcomed our personal views on different activities. She did her best to convince us that learning foreign languages is a strong requirement of modern life. She said that every educated person should be able to speak at least one foreign language, and in many aspects of life English is the key and it has a great influence everywhere. English is spoken and studied all over the world by more than 700 million people. It has become the language of international communication. International business and diplomatic relations are conducted in English. Nearly eighty per cent of scientific writing is in English and it is the international language of pop culture. That’s why so much attention is paid to teaching foreign languages at school and foreign language teachers are in great demand today.
I’m definitely sure that my future career should be connected with foreign languages. I want to perfect my knowledge of English, especially my speaking and listening skills. I don’t know what career I will follow in future but I know for sure it will be connected with foreign languages, either teaching or interpreting.

Before I start speaking about my favourite subject at school I must say that I study at an ordinary secondary school in a small town of Mogilev region. In senior forms we are taught many different subjects: social and natural studies, science and of course, humanities. I can’t say that I like all of them or that I am really good at all of them. There are some subject I like more than others, there are some I really enjoy and at the same time there are some subjects that I have to learn whether I like them or not. So it’s much more pleasant for me to speak about the subject I like best. My favourite subjects are humanities, Russian and Belarusian literatures in particular. Since early childhood I’ve been fond of reading fairy-tales and as I grew older I liked reading historical novels and fiction books. I can always borrow books from the school or public libraries in the town and I’ve got a good home library as well.
My love for reading was encouraged at school by my teacher of Russian, who is a highly educated and a well-read person herself. Her lessons are always an event, she can give a lot of interesting information about different books and writers’ life stories. What is no less important is the patience with which she listens to our opinions with respect, no matter whether we are right or wrong in our conclusions. She teaches us to consider different points of view. We can discuss any problem at her lessons, let it be A. Ostrovsky’s plays or the problems of today. She always makes us give examples from different books in support of our opinions and in the end we see that we become more educated, better informed and more thoughtful people. I am more than sure that a pupil’s attitude to this or that subject depends on a teacher.
I like English as well, but only two lessons a week are not enough to learn it properly. I am fond of translating and discussing topics, but I must admit that I can’t say much in English. I think I can read and understand not very complicated texts and have satisfactory knowledge of grammar but I am almost helpless at understanding native English speech. I listen to many English songs without understanding most words. It’s a pity. I hope to learn better English when I go to university. My ambition is to study journalism and become a reporter on international events. So my choice of the future profession is connected with my favourite subject at school.
My Favourite Subject
My name is Alice. I’m fourteen years old. I study in the seventh grade of a secondary school. We study lots of subjects at school, such as Maths, Biology, Geography and many others. I think all these subjects are interesting and useful, however, I’ve always preferred Humanities. I particularly like foreign languages and my favourite subject is English. There are several reasons for that. First of all, English is the most popular language in the world nowadays. Moreover, it’s the international language, which, to my mind, is very important. Secondly, English is a very melodic language and has a long history.
Many traditions of English people are reflected in their language. I think that studying a foreign language allows to learn more about the country, its culture and history, its people and their lifestyles. Such knowledge broadens your mind and makes tolerant towards other people and nations.
Our English lessons are always varied and exciting. Although there are sometimes difficult tasks, such as doing grammar exercises, writing essays, learning large texts, the majority of activities are very interesting. We sometimes learn English proverbs, songs, poetry and even play games. After all, school is not the only place where I learn English. I take every opportunity to improve my knowledge at home or with my friends. We often watch films and programmes in English, or read authentic books and magazines. Internet also offers many interactive ways to learn foreign languages nowadays, so I believe that learning English can become real fun!

Я думаю, что все эти предметы очень интересные и полезные, однако, я всегда предпочитала гуманитарные науки. Особенно мне нравятся иностранные языки и мой любимый предмет – английский. Этому есть несколько причин. Во-первых, английский является самым популярным языком в мире на сегодняшний день. Более того, это международный язык, что, на мой взгляд, очень важно. Во-вторых, английский очень мелодичный язык и имеет долгую историю.
Многие традиции англичан отражаются в их языке. Я думаю, что изучение иностранного языка, позволяет узнать больше о стране, её культурной стороне и истории, её людях и их образе жизни. Такие знания расширяют кругозор и делают людей толерантными по отношению к другим людям и народностям.
Наши уроки английского всегда разнообразны и интересны. Несмотря на то, что иногда упражнения бывают трудными, например, грамматические упражнения, написание сочинений, изучение больших текстов, большая часть занятий очень интересная. Иногда мы учим английские пословицы, песни, поэзию и даже играем в игры. И всё же, школа не единственное место, где я учу английский. Я использую каждую возможность улучшить свои знания дома или с друзьями. Мы часто смотрим фильмы или программы на английском, читаем оригинальные книги и журналы. Интернет также предлагает множество интерактивных способов изучения иностранных языков в наши дни, и, поэтому я верю, что изучение английского может быть по-настоящему весёлым занятием!
We did quite a lot of subjects at school. They were: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, History, Geography, Russian, English, Literature and others.
Every teacher asked for equal and adequate attention to his subject and it was not an easy work to do. I knew that all the subjects were important, but still I was always indifferent to exact sciences.
Since my childhood I have been fond of reading. My favourite subjects were Literature and languages.
When I started studying English, the first thing I got interested in, was the different way to express one and the same idea in English and Russian.
I wondered why if an Englishman is upset or gloomy he does not say: “I have a bad mood” like Russians do but says: “I feel blue”.
There is an infinite number of such things in any language. I read English books, tried to translate some articles from “Moscow News”.
Very often I borrowed English books from our school library. I spend a lot of time studding Grammar and doing exercises.
At our English lessons we read quite a lot, but didn’t talk much. So me and my friends decided to speak English among us.
Very often I spoke English with my friends on the way home after classes.

С детства я любила читать. Моими любимыми предметами были литература и языки.
Когда я стала изучать английский, первое, что меня заинтересовало, это то, что мы по-разному выражаем одну и ту же мысль в английском и русском языках.
Мне было интересно, почему когда англичанин расстроен и подавлен, он не скажет, как русские: “У меня плохое настроение”, а скажет: “Я чувствую себя унылым”.
В каждом языке встречается бесконечное множество таких различий. Я читала книги на английском языке, пыталась переводить статьи из “Московских новостей”.
Очень часто я брала книги на английском из нашей школьной библиотеки. Я потратила много времени, изучая грамматику и выполняя упражнения.
На наших уроках по английскому языку мы достаточно много читали, но не очень много разговаривали. Поэтому я и мои друзья решили говорить по-английски между собой.
Очень часто я говорила по-английски с моими друзьями по пути домой после занятий.

We study a lot of various and interesting subjects at school. Some of them are humanities, others – exact sciences. Human beings are not similar in their abilities, so we can be good at different things. I find Technical Drawing the most difficult school subject for me but I am lucky to sit next to a smart boy who always helps and explains complicated things to me.
I can’t say that I’m quite bad at Maths, Chemistry or Physics because I love doing sums, learning amazing laws of our universe and studying different forms of energy and matter. But most of all I enjoy Russian and English languages. I am very grateful to my teachers who evoked my true interest in these subjects. They are real professionals dedicated to their jobs and their lessons are always extremely useful and informative.
Reading good Russian books and discussing them at our classes is my cup of tea. I love writing compositions where I can express my opinions and feelings. I have always paid special attention to Russian grammar rules as I am totally convinced that beautiful speech and correct writing are very important in our life and at work.
My favourite activities at our English classes are making up interesting dialogues and acting out conversations. My teacher encourages me to read additional English literature, although I can read only adapted books at present. But If I work hard at my English and train every day I will be able to read them in the original and speak fluently in a couple of years. I hope so. I am sure that being in love with my subject helps me greatly to cope with some difficulties in studying grammar, vocabulary and spelling.
I would like my future profession to be connected with English language. It may have something to do with the tourist business or international relations.

Я всегда обращал особое внимание на грамматические правила русского языка, так как совершенно уверен, что красивая речь и грамотное письмо очень важны в нашей жизни и в работе.
Мои любимые занятия на уроках английского – это составление интересных диалогов и разыгрывание разговоров. Мой учитель побуждает меня к чтению дополнительной английской литературы, хотя в настоящее время я могу осилить лишь адаптированные книги. Но если я буду старательно изучать язык и заниматься каждый день, то смогу читать их в оригинале и бегло разговаривать через пару лет. Я надеюсь. Я уверен, что моя любовь к предмету очень мне помогает справляться с трудностями в изучении грамматики, словарного запаса и правописания.
Я бы хотел связать свою будущую профессию с английским языком. Это может быть что-то связанное с туристическим бизнесом или сферой международных отношений.
