It was dark outside. The tramp heard the howl of the wind and saw how the snow fell down. At first, he got worried that it was an illegal accident, but everything changed when he took a look around him. He was really surprised by the atmosphere: there were Christmas trees everywhere, Santa Clauses and a lot of gifts and bright lights. All the things were so colorful and attractive that the tramp felt like a child. He was slowly moving among shelves, staring at toys. He was really happy at that moment and almost burst into tears.
The hours passed, but the tramp continued to sit near the scene with decorations, playing toys. He was so carried away by the game that forgot he had been very hungry. And suddenly he understood that if he did not eat anything, he would die.
Of course, the store was full of food and drinks. But the tramp was looking at all those products with horror. He was talking to himself: “It is illegal! Do not do this! No! Everything you are doing right now is illegal!” But it did not work. He was hungry as a hunter. He found a small bottle of water and a sandwich and ate it feeling guilty.
The morning came and the tramp saw the doors being opened. It was a police officer. He had to check the store before the opening. The tramp hid and started to pray. He did not want to have any problems with the police, it was just an accident. But the officer found him behind the Christmas tree, seized and brought to the police station.
The policemen asked him a few questions about the night. The tramp told him his story, but the officer did not believe him and sent a man into prison.
The Christmas was coming, everyone was waiting for this day and was so happy except the tramp. He was sitting glum in his cell.
But later that day the director of the store came to the police station to know more about the accident. While the officers were talking to him, the tramp looked at them with hope from his corner. He did not pay attention to the fact that near his cell a small and very cute girl was standing. She stared at him with a big smile on her face. The tramp involuntarily smiled too. All of a sudden the girl ran towards the store director and whispered something. He looked at the tramp, smiled and said loudly: “Let him go! ». The policeman stared at him for a moment and then opened the door of the cell.
The tramp left it, came up to a tall man and said quietly: “Thanks’ a lot! You are so kind!” The man hugged his daughter and answered: “Merry Christmas!”

Безусловно, магазин был полон еды и напитков, но бродяга смотрел на все эти продукты с ужасом. Он повторял сам себе: «Нет! Не делай этого! Это незаконно! Все, что ты делаешь, это плохо!». Но это не помогло.
Бродяга решил найти себе чуть-чуть еды. Он нашел маленькую бутылочку воды и сэндвич и скушал это с ужасным чувством вины.
Утро наступало, и бродяга увидел, как открываются двери. Это был охранник. Он начал делать обход перед открытием магазина. Бродяга спрятался и начал молиться за себя. Он не хотел проблем. Это же всего лишь случайность! Но охранник нашел его между деревьев, схватил и увел в полицейский участок.
Офицер задал бродяге несколько вопросов об этой ночи. Мужчина рассказал ему свою историю, но он не поверил и решил держать его в камере.
День Рождества становился все ближе и все вокруг ждали его и были очень рады. Все, за исключением бродяги. Он сидел угрюмый в своей камере.
Но в один день в участок пришел директор магазина, чтобы узнать побольше об этом деле. Все офицеры столпились возле него, а бродяга смотрел на мужчину с надеждой. Он даже не заметил, что рядом стояла маленькая и очень милая девочка, которая смотрела на него и улыбалась. Бродяга невольно заулыбался ей в ответ. Затем девочка резко убежала к толпе и сказала что-то директору на ушко. Он посмотрел на бродягу, улыбнулся и громко сказал: «Выпустите его!». Офицер уставился на него, а затем открыл камеру.
Мужчина вышел из камеры, подошел к высокому мужчине и тихо сказал: «Спасибо Вам большое! Вы очень добры». Мужчина обнял свою дочь и ответил: «Счастливого Вам Рождества!»
There are frequent moments in our life when we want to please a friend, a relative or a close person with a gift that will be remembered for the whole live. But then the question arises: what to give? Would he like something that you choose, or your gift will be covered with dust in the corner? And then any gift doesn`t seem suitable. It seems too simple or cheap, bulky or useless.
And how should we know what he wants to get from us? If we ask, there will be no surprise, if not, there will be no interest. And what shall we do if he is not going to share his desires with us and can buy everything he needs himself?
But if everybody asks himself, what does he expect from friends and relatives, what answer can we get? Money, beautiful trinkets, perfume, that may cause an allergy, or a magnificent palace on the seaside? Of course, anyone would hardly refuse the palace, but there may be something that is much more important and more valuable to us than luxury.

One day my classmate called me during a break and said: “Look …”. There was a card in her hands that had been made from the most ordinary white paper with a smiling snowman on it. There were big green letters: “Happy New Year” near it. “It`s so pretty” she said and tenderly smiled. There were poems on the card – rhymed Christmas greetings and wishes of joy, luck and health. It would seem such a trifle, but this gift gave the girl much more joy than an expensive, but bought for money thing could deliver.
A person does not matter exactly how his friends or close people show himtheir attention. The idea that somebody needs him, takes care of him, gives all his heart to it, makes people happy.
And even the most expensive, beautiful and, perhaps, necessary items that has been given with indifference will not bring even a small part of the joy that an ordinary thing can do, if it has been made with love.
В жизни часто бывают моменты, когда ты хочешь порадовать друга, родственника или любимого человека подарком, который запомнился бы ему на всю жизнь. Но тут же возникает вопрос: что же подарить? Понравится ли ему то, что вы выберете, или ваш подарок будет покрываться пылью в дальнем углу? И тогда любой вариант кажется неподходящим: слишком простым или дешёвым, громоздким или бесполезным.

От дворца, конечно, вряд ли кто-то откажется, но, может быть, есть что-то, что гораздо дороже и ценнее для нас, чем всевозможная роскошь?
Подумаем вместе.
Однажды на перемене подруга позвала меня: “Смотри…”. В её руках была самодельная открытка из самой обычной белой бумаги с нарисованным на ней счастливо улыбающимся снеговиком, рядом с которым крупными зелёными буквами надпись: “С новым годом”. “Это так мило”,- сказала она и умилённо улыбнулась. В той открытке были стихи – рифмованные поздравления с праздником, пожелания радости, удачи и здоровья. Казалось бы, такая мелочь, но именно этот подарок принёс девушке больше радости, чем могла бы доставить дорогая, но купленная за деньги вещь.
Всё дело в том,что человеку вовсе не важно, как именно к нему проявляют внимание близкие люди или друзья. Сама мысль о том, что он нужен кому-то, что о нём заботятся, задолго обдумывают каждый подарок и вкладывают в него часть себя, делает человека счастливым.
И даже самый дорогой, красивый и, возможно, необходимый предмет, вручённый с равнодушием, не принесёт и доли той радости, которую доставит обычная вещь, но сделанная с любовью.
