Appearance of a person depends on the garment. Clothing adorns us, underlines our dignity, and sometimes hides some defects.With the help of clothing one can emphasize the role he plays in society. A skill to dress up have only some people. While many want to be in trend.
In many schools pupils have to wear uniform. School uniform, on my opinion, should also be the fashionable. Each student wears it most of the year. At the same time, it should be durable and comfortable. Colors should be easily soiled. It also have a certain strictness and set to a serious mood.
In our school uniform was introduced two years ago. Since then all the students wear it. I also have school uniform. In warm months I wear a white blouse and checkered skirt. Also I wear gray jacket. In winter it would be cold in such clothes. Therefore, I wear a light gray dress. When it is very cold I wear black pants and blouse. Boys uniform consists of a gray jacket, white shirt and black trousers. In winter they wear under the jacket checkered vest.
School uniform has pros and cons. It unites students. Besides, I always know what to wear to school in the morning. From other hand, it bothers. Because every day you have to wear the same thing.

Зимой в такой одежде было бы холодно. Поэтому я ношу светло-серое платье. Когда особенно холодно я одеваю чёрные брюки и блузку. In my opinion, the school uniform has both advantages and disadvantages. First of all when children wear a school uniform, they realize that they are at school not at a swimming-pool or stadium. It adjusts them to school atmosphere and helps to study harder. Secondly, school uniforms prevent social inequality. It means that both rich and poor children wear the same clothes. Furthermore, children don’t have such problem as what to wear in the morning. The disadvantages of school uniform include the loss of individuality. Everyone becomes alike and children look similar. The second problem may be untidiness. As children wear the same clothes every day their uniform starts to look a bit untidy and faded. They all look rather smart and strict. Children’s opinions on school uniform differ. Some say they like wearing it, while others prefer to wear a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. In my opinion, the school uniform has both advantages and disadvantages. First of all when children wear a school uniform, they realize that they are at school not at a swimming-pool or stadium. It adjusts them to school atmosphere and helps to study harder. Secondly, school uniforms prevent social inequality. It means that both rich and poor children wear the same clothes. Furthermore, children don’t have such problem as what to wear in the morning. The disadvantages of school uniform include the loss of individuality. Everyone becomes alike and children look similar. The second problem may be untidiness. As children wear the same clothes every day their uniform starts to look a bit untidy and faded. Last but not the least school uniforms have become rather expensive lately. So, not every parent wants to buy it. As for me, I support the idea of wearing a school uniform. I think that at home we can put on what we want, but at school we need to follow the rules.

Помимо этого, у детей не возникает такой проблемы, как, что же надеть утром. К недостаткам школьной формы относится потеря индивидуальности. Все становятся похожи, и дети выглядят одинаково. Второй проблемой может быть неряшливости. Так как дети носят одну и ту же одежду каждый день, их форма начинает выглядеть немного неопрятно и тускло. Последнее, но немаловажное, школьные формы стали довольно дорогими в последнее время. Поэтому, не каждый родитель хочет покупать её. Что касается меня, я поддерживаю идею ношения школьной формы. Я думаю, что у себя дома мы можем надевать все, что захотим, но в школе мы должны следовать правилам.

The word “uniform” means “having the same form”.
So a school uniform means that every child in the school wears the same clothes.
In some countries school uniform is normal and most schools have one. In other countries, particularly in continental Europe, the USA and Canada, uniform is worn mostly in private schools.
Having a school uniform gives you a school identity.
It means that you belong to that particular school.
You don’t have to worry about what to wear on a school day.
The clothes are usually practical and comfortable to wear.
Uniforms can be handed down to other children in the family.
With a uniform you don’t need many casual clothes. It reduces
class differences because everyone has to wear the same.
Uniform is usually cheaper than everyday dress.
Wearing a uniform helps to prepare students for the world of
work, where uniforms are often worn.
Schools with uniforms have better educational results.
This is because there is better discipline.
Advantages of school uniform

Uniform is often not practical or pleasant to wear.
Designs are often old-fashioned and ugly.
Forcing children to wear uniform can ignore their religious and
cultural needs.
Wearing a school uniform is not good preparation for working.
Only a few jobs require uniforms, and many of these are
low-paid service jobs.
Skirts or formal trousers are not good for doing sport or running
around at lunchtime or breaks.
Some uniforms are a bit too casual and can look not very neat.
They can be very expensive.
You can get fed up of wearing the same old, same old every day.
You get into trouble if you don’t wear uniform.
School uniform in Britain
Pupils at most secondary schools in Britain have to wear a school uniform. This usually means a white blouse for girls with a dark-coloured skirt and pullover.
Shirts and blazers are also common .
Boys wear shirts and ties, dark trousers and dark-coloured pullovers or blazers.
In some schools pupils also wear blazers with the school badge on the pocket. They often have to wear some kind of hat on the way to and from school – caps for boys and berets for girls.
Shoes are usually black or brown. And no high heels.
School uniform in the USA
During the 1990s state schools in the USA began to introduce uniforms due to the claims that wearing uniform leads to better discipline and educational results.
Both the Clinton and Bush administrations have been in favour of school uniforms.
Today, most schools require girls to wear skirts, others allow girls the choice of skirts or culottes and trousers.
Some schools have unisex uniforms—a shirt, a sweater or blazer and sometimes trousers of a given colour.
Boys typically wear a collared shirt, tie, and trousers of required colours, although polo shirts are also permitted.
Uniforms may vary according to the time of year. At At many schools, students wear lighter uniform clothing during the hotter months of the school year. However, at some schools students have to wear long sleeved shirts, ties, wool sweaters, blazers, wool skirts or jumpers, and knee socks or tights in any season and weather.
In Russia, school uniforms were cancelled after 1917 revolution, but were re-introduced in 1948.
Wearing uniform was made obligatory and pupils were punished for not following the rules .
The style of Soviet school uniform was modernized in 1962. and since that time was modified each decade.
Boys generally wore dark blue trousers and jackets,
girls — brown dresses with black aprons and black bows
(on special occasions, white aprons and bows were worn).
The members of the Young Pioneer organization,
wore famous red neckties and badges. Badges were also worn by October children and Komsomol members.
In 1992, compulsory school uniforms were cancelled. Today, there is no unified standard uniform in Russia, however, many gymnasiums and lyceums, especially prestigious ones, as well as certain schools may have their own uniform that students are required to wear. Educational institutions without a uniform may also have a certain dress-code.
