I like travelling. Travelling I can discover so many interesting and wonderful places, meet different people and visit different sights. In my opinion, it will be possible to decide what the city of your dream is only if you visit it or, what is better, visit as many different cities as possible. Another important thing is to live there some period of time. I cannot understand when people say that this or that city is the city of their dream but they have never been there.

Maybe, I visit not so many cities but once I visited Saint Petersburg. It was the love at the first sight. Of course, before my travel to Saint Petersburg I knew a lot about this city, I saw many photos of it and so on. However in this city I discovered much more than I expected of it.

I was in Saint Petersburg twice and each time I was living there for one week. When it was my first journey I lived in Peterhof in the house of my relatives. I visited many sights in Peterhof and almost every day I went to Saint Petersburg, walked there and visited different museums. However also it was interesting for me to do something of daily routine there. So I can say that I knew what it meant to live there though a bit. All-Russian Olympiad of School Students was the second time when I visited Saint Petersburg. That time I had even more opportunities to know the city.

I think that almost all people on the earth dream or imagine their future city.
Town of my dream
I imagine it in a following way. The city will be light, thanks to modern buildings which will be painted only in light colours (pink, orange, yellow, light green).
Each family will live in the personal cottage with all necessary conveniences: hot and cold water, a central heating, the water drain. All houses (monuments of wooden architecture) will be restored
The river Tom` will be full of valuable breeds of fishes (a sturgeon, a sterlet, muksun) and it will be possible to fish, sitting on river quay, every day. Roads in the city will be wide, smooth-asphalted, and movement without “traffic jams”. Instead of the airport will be spaceport to reach any city of our country in some minutes. There will be a zoo in the city where it will be possible to see all animals of Siberia, our country and the world.
Children`s entertaining parks with set of amusing attractions and absolutely free that children with parents visited them daily. In a city will be grown up Siberian berries and mushrooms all year long in hothouses. Tomsk will be the capital of the winter Olympic Games in 2060. Our Tomsk doctors and hospitals will be the best in the country and we won`t have problems with our health thanks to new technologies, the Siberians will live till 150 years. The best universities of the country will be in the city of Tomsk, all inhabitants will be clever, well -educated and creative people. A lot of kindergartens with the best beautiful children`s toys will be in our future city. All schools will be comfortable, well equipped and full of new information technology.
Here are my dreams about our Tomsk in the future.

В городе будет зоопарк, где можно будет увидеть всех животных Сибири, нашей страны и мира.
Детские развлекательные парки с множеством забавных аттракционов и совершенно бесплатные, чтобы дети с родителями посещали их ежедневно.
В городе будут построены теплицы, в которых будут выращиваться сибирские ягоды и грибы круглый год. Томск будет столицей зимней олимпиады . Наши томские врачи и больницы будут самыми лучшими в стране, Сибиряки будут жить до 150 лет.
Самые лучшие университеты страны в городе Томске, все жители умные и образованные, креативные.
Много детских садов с самыми лучшими красивыми детскими игрушками, школы города уютные и хорошо оборудованные всеми новыми информационными технологиями.
Вот моё представление о нашем любимом Томске в будущем, и я верю, что он будет именно таким необыкновенным и самым лучшим.

Since young age, I have always wondered what the perfect place for living would be like. Now, I can say that I have a clear vision of the city of my dreams. First of all, it should be situated in a sunny part of our planet and have great weather conditions all year round. Secondly, there should be neither crime nor any violence there. Only good and kind people can reside in such city. Life can be much easier and nicer if everyone is loving and understanding. In the city of my dreams people will live in peace and quiet, without any worries and fears. This city will have excellent roads, cheap stores, many beautiful parks and playgrounds for kids, several entertainment centers and else. The population of the city will be neither too rich, nor poor. People will live equally well. Older people will be respected and taken care of. The streets will be clean and safe. There will be no homeless animals in the city of my dreams. Another important condition is to have a loyal government. People in the city of my dream will never be in a hurry and they will do only the jobs they like. The City of My Dream.
I had a wonderful dream involving more sci fi than I have seen in a long time. It had an amazing city in it that I want to remember, now for my futile attempt at explaining the city in my dream.
The city in my dream was Very post apocalyptic. The city was centered on a huge reactor area that had failed. The reactor was something I supposedly built in my dream. The failure of the reactor had caused many problems in the core of the city though and was surrounded by a green house looking enclosure. All of the windows though bulged out and pulsed with the huge energy placed inside it. Horribly deformed people wandered around and pounded on the inside of the bubble trying to get out but couldn’t break through the thick, clear, glasslike substance.
Huge buildings surrounded the “Greenhouse”. All of these buildings were covered with moss and slowly were decaying, but people still lived in them, many had horrible burns and their faces looked as though they had melted away. Further away from the center the buildings became newer. These buildings had whole sides that could display video and show advertisements.
The huge city ends abruptly and a huge wall. You can only cross the metal wall to get to other cities. Outside the walls were great deserts that spanned further than the horizon, like a huge sea of sand. They have roads winding through them. At 11:30 huge walls surround the roads and section off areas so that you must stay in until morning. These steel walls are to protect you from the mutants in the desert.
The mutants have bird like legs, human arms with long white claws and bodies like huge goldfish. These monsters are strong enough to break through the thick steel walls that surround the roads, and often attack the people inside.
So that is my dream and what I remember of the city, I really wish I could draw it up, but alas I don’t have any drawing skills like that. So if anyone wants to help me draw up a map or something for this one day that would be cool.

Есть много красивых городов. Я мечаю жить в новом городе. Мне бы хотелась, что бы в этом городе была красивая природа и чистый воздух. Было бы хорошо жить в одном городе с знаменитыми людьми. В идеальном городе должно быть спокойно. Не должно совершаться много преступлений. Город моей мечты должен красиво называться. В нем должны охранять права людей. Мне бы хотелось что бы в этом городе не было бездомных и безработных людей. В нем должны жить приличные люди. В таком городе можно спокойно жить. Многие сами портят свой города, загрязняя их. Надеюсь такой город когданибудь будет существовать.

Since young age, I have always wondered what the perfect place for living would be like. Now, I can say that I have a clear vision of the city of my dreams. First of all, it should be situated in a sunny part of our planet and have great weather conditions all year round. Secondly, there should be neither crime nor any violence there. Only good and kind people can reside in such city. Life can be much easier and nicer if everyone is loving and understanding. In the city of my dreams people will live in peace and quiet, without any worries and fears. This city will have excellent roads, cheap stores, many beautiful parks and playgrounds for kids, several entertainment centers and else. The population of the city will be neither too rich, nor poor. People will live equally well. Older people will be respected and taken care of. The streets will be clean and safe. There will be no homeless animals in the city of my dreams. Another important condition is to have a loyal government. People in the city of my dream will never be in a hurry and they will do only the jobs they like. However, I certainly understand that it’s just my dream, I really hope that at least some of the mentioned qualities will come true in the future.

Лишь хорошие и добрые люди могут населять такой город. Жизнь может быть гораздо легче и приятнее, если все будут любящими и понимающими. В городе моей мечты люди будут жить в мире и спокойствии, без тревог и страхов. В городе будут прекрасные дороги, дешёвые магазины, много красивых парков и площадок для детей, несколько развлекательных центров и т.д. Население города не будет слишком богатым, или бедным. Люди будут жить одинаково хорошо. Пожилых людей будут уважать, и ухаживать за ними. Улицы будут чистыми и безопасными. Не будет никаких бездомных животных в городе моей мечты. Другое важное условие – это наличие лояльного правительства. Люди в городе моей мечты никогда не будут спешить, и будут делать только ту работу, которая им нравится. Однако я, конечно же, понимаю, что это всего лишь моя мечта, но я действительно надеюсь, что хотя бы некоторые упомянутые качества в будущем сбудутся.
I think that almost all people on the earth dream or imagine their future city.
I imagine it in a following way. The city will be light, thanks to modern buildings which will be painted only in light colours (pink, orange, yellow, light green). Each family will live in the personal cottage with all necessary conveniences: hot and cold water, a central heating, the water drain. All houses (monuments of wooden architecture) will be restored
The river Tom` will be full of valuable breeds of fishes (a sturgeon, a sterlet, muksun) and it will be possible to fish, sitting on river quay, every day. Roads in the city will be wide, smooth-asphalted, and movement without “traffic jams”. Instead of the airport will be spaceport to reach any city of our country in some minutes. There will be a zoo in the city where it will be possible to see all animals of Siberia, our country and the world.
Children`s entertaining parks with set of amusing attractions and absolutely free that children with parents visited them daily. In a city will be grown up Siberian berries and mushrooms all year long in hothouses. Tomsk will be the capital of the winter Olympic Games in 2060. Our Tomsk doctors and hospitals will be the best in the country and we won`t have problems with our health thanks to new technologies, the Siberians will live till 150 years. The best universities of the country will be in the city of Tomsk, all inhabitants will be clever, well -educated and creative people. A lot of kindergartens with the best beautiful children`s toys will be in our future city. All schools will be comfortable, well equipped and full of new information technology.
Here are my dreams about our Tomsk in the future.
I believe that Tomsk will be such unusual and one of the best cities in Siberia.
Я думаю, что почти все люди на земле мечтают или представляют город будущего по – своему. Вот я, например, представляю его так.
Город будет светлый, благодаря современным зданиям, которые будут окрашены только в светлые цвета (розовый, оранжевый, жёлтый, светло-зелёный). Каждая семья будет жить в своём личном коттедже со всеми необходимыми удобствами: горячая и холодная вода, центральное отопление, канализация. Все дома (памятники деревянного зодчества) будут отреставрированы.
Река Томь будет полна ценных пород рыб (осётр, стерлядь, муксун) и можно будет рыбачить ежедневно, сидя на набережной реки.
Дороги в городе будут широкими, гладко-асфальтированными, а движение без “пробок”. Вместо аэропорта будет космопорт, чтобы мы могли добраться до любого города нашей страны за несколько минут.
В городе будет зоопарк, где можно будет увидеть всех животных Сибири, нашей страны и мира.
Детские развлекательные парки с множеством забавных аттракционов и совершенно бесплатные, чтобы дети с родителями посещали их ежедневно.
В городе будут построены теплицы, в которых будут выращиваться сибирские ягоды и грибы круглый год. Томск будет столицей зимней олимпиады . Наши томские врачи и больницы будут самыми лучшими в стране, Сибиряки будут жить до 150 лет.
Самые лучшие университеты страны в городе Томске, все жители умные и образованные, креативные.
Много детских садов с самыми лучшими красивыми детскими игрушками, школы города уютные и хорошо оборудованные всеми новыми информационными технологиями.
Вот моё представление о нашем любимом Томске в будущем, и я верю, что он будет именно таким необыкновенным и самым лучшим.

The City of My Dream.
I had a wonderful dream involving more sci fi than I have seen in a long time. It had an amazing city in it that I want to remember, now for my futile attempt at explaining the city in my dream.
The city in my dream was Very post apocalyptic. The city was centered on a huge reactor area that had failed. The reactor was something I supposedly built in my dream. The failure of the reactor had caused many problems in the core of the city though and was surrounded by a green house looking enclosure. All of the windows though bulged out and pulsed with the huge energy placed inside it. Horribly deformed people wandered around and pounded on the inside of the bubble trying to get out but couldn’t break through the thick, clear, glasslike substance.
Huge buildings surrounded the “Greenhouse”. All of these buildings were covered with moss and slowly were decaying, but people still lived in them, many had horrible burns and their faces looked as though they had melted away. Further away from the center the buildings became newer. These buildings had whole sides that could display video and show advertisements.
The huge city ends abruptly and a huge wall. You can only cross the metal wall to get to other cities. Outside the walls were great deserts that spanned further than the horizon, like a huge sea of sand. They have roads winding through them. At 11:30 huge walls surround the roads and section off areas so that you must stay in until morning. These steel walls are to protect you from the mutants in the desert.
The mutants have bird like legs, human arms with long white claws and bodies like huge goldfish. These monsters are strong enough to break through the thick steel walls that surround the roads, and often attack the people inside.
So that is my dream and what I remember of the city, I really wish I could draw it up, but alas I don’t have any drawing skills like that. So if anyone wants to help me draw up a map or something for this one day that would be cool.
