All morning I was already in anticipation of this event, although the concert started at 7 pm only. At 16:00 I got on the train to Kazan railway station, and then I went on the subway. When the concert began, at first it was hard to get used to the loud sound, but then I started jumping with the crowd in the rhythm of the music.

I’m very fond of music and whenever I get a chance I attend a concert. It doesn’t happen very often, because I’m rather busy with my studies these days. Besides, our town is small and famous singers or bands rarely attend us. One music concert, that I especially liked, took place last summer. It was a jazz concert played by university students. I was amazed how talented these guys were. Although they are not famous yet, I think they will be noticed in the future. The event was held at the local Concert Hall in the afternoon. I went there with my best friend Vika, who is also fond of jazz. The tickets were rather inexpensive, so we could afford them. The concert lasted for a bit more than an hour. The hall was full of the audience. Although we are casual listeners, we could see how great was the music and performance in general. There were six people in the band. One guy was playing the saxophone, one was playing the drums, two others were playing the trumpet and the clarinet, one student was playing the double bass, and one was the pianist. At some point, each of them played solo to show their skills. At other moments they tried to improvise, which also sounded well. All in all, they performed about nine songs. The audience was willingly applauding after each song. Once again, I understood that hearing and seeing a live concert is much better than listening to music on CD or MP3 players. “Music is the key to your soul.” How many times have you heard a song and you are suddenly transformed back to the place you first heard it or shared it with another person? A musical melody can trigger thoughts and memories of a favorite place, person or event.
Music is a universal language that can be shared with people everywhere. This is one of the many reasons I am passionate about sharing my God-given talent with people in different venues, including concert halls, churches, people’s homes or stages.
Music has always been a very important part of my life. At the age of 5, I was taking piano lessons, which required daily practicing and discipline. I went on to play flute in fourth grade and switched to oboe after “buzzing” an oboe reed at summer Band School in Elizabeth, N.J. My love affair with my oboe began! I taught myself to play French horn and trumpet in high school, rounding out my embouchure.
I credit my love of music to my family, starting with my grandmother, who lived with us, teaching piano out of our home, for 21 years. My mom continues to play cello, after 70 years of performing. Dad played alto saxophone, performing with a big band in Williamsburg, Va., up until relocating to Maryland last year. Both my siblings played instruments from a young age, as well.
Music joins people together in a unique and lasting way. I continue to play with musicians from the University of Delaware and with those from the Delmarva and Baltimore area. Music brought my husband and I together, when he attended a woodwind quintet concert at UD, prior to going out on our first dinner date. He continues to support me with my musical commitments, as well as our daughters, all of whom played musical instruments at the county and state levels.
The creative process is an integral part of making music. It starts from within your soul and heart. You need to be able to take black notes on a page and make them into an expressive, rich and beautiful musical creation. The musician needs to transform a written piece of music into a musical masterpiece the listener will never forget. The composition needs to not only to be communicated in the style and period of the composer, but also needs to be delivered with emotion, expression and individuality.
Music is as diverse as the composers who wrote it. As an artist, you must be able to convey and share the emotion of the music to your audience/congregation. For this transference to be successful, you must first feel the passion of the music from within yourself and then deliver it in a creative way that can relate to every person in your audience.

Music is the key to your soul
“Music is the key to your soul.” How many times have you heard a song and you are suddenly transformed back to the place you first heard it or shared it with another person? A musical melody can trigger thoughts and memories of a favorite place, person or event.
Music is a universal language that can be shared with people everywhere. This is one of the many reasons I am passionate about sharing my God-given talent with people in different venues, including concert halls, churches, people’s homes or stages.
Music has always been a very important part of my life. At the age of 5, I was taking piano lessons, which required daily practicing and discipline. I went on to play flute in fourth grade and switched to oboe after “buzzing” an oboe reed at summer Band School in Elizabeth, N.J. My love affair with my oboe began! I taught myself to play French horn and trumpet in high school, rounding out my embouchure.
I credit my love of music to my family, starting with my grandmother, who lived with us, teaching piano out of our home, for 21 years. My mom continues to play cello, after 70 years of performing. Dad played alto saxophone, performing with a big band in Williamsburg, Va., up until relocating to Maryland last year. Both my siblings played instruments from a young age, as well.
Music joins people together in a unique and lasting way. I continue to play with musicians from the University of Delaware and with those from the Delmarva and Baltimore area. Music brought my husband and I together, when he attended a woodwind quintet concert at UD, prior to going out on our first dinner date. He continues to support me with my musical commitments, as well as our daughters, all of whom played musical instruments at the county and state levels.
The creative process is an integral part of making music. It starts from within your soul and heart. You need to be able to take black notes on a page and make them into an expressive, rich and beautiful musical creation. The musician needs to transform a written piece of music into a musical masterpiece the listener will never forget. The composition needs to not only to be communicated in the style and period of the composer, but also needs to be delivered with emotion, expression and individuality.
Music is as diverse as the composers who wrote it. As an artist, you must be able to convey and share the emotion of the music to your audience/congregation. For this transference to be successful, you must first feel the passion of the music from within yourself and then deliver it in a creative way that can relate to every person in your audience.
Music is meant to be shared. My greatest joys in life include music — from my marriage, a wedding, a funeral, a concert, a church service, a social event or the birth of a child. I plan to continue sharing my gift of music for a very long time. Let the music play on …

I love music, I think people can
not live without it. The first thing I do in the morning I switch on my tape —

We can hear music everywhere: in
the streets, in the shops, on TV, over the radio, in the cars, in the parks,
everywhere. I think it’s really doesn’t matter what kind of music you prefer:
rock, pop, classical, jazz. A lot of people are fond of music. They buy tapes,
go to the concerts, visit Concert Halls and Opera Theatres.
I enjoy listening music because
it reflects my moods and emotions. Very often when I’m blue, I play my favourite
merry songs and feel much better.
Sometimes I attend music halls
and the concerts, when popular groups and singers are there. I like watching
music programs on TV. I like to know more and more about popular talented groups
and singers I like.
One wall of my room is covered
with posters of “Bon Jovi”, “Scorpions”, “Roxette”, Russian singers Agutin,
Sjutkin, Linda and others. Some people go to musics schools, they play different
musical instruments, sing in the chorus, try to compose music.
Unfortunately there are so many
ungifted singers on the stages, that it makes me sad. To have a good producer
doesn’t mean to have good ears and voice. I think that only talented people can
claim to be singers.

There are not many theatres in my town, but they are all very popular with the public. I am a theatre lover, too. As for me, I prefer drama to all other theatres, but I also like opera and musical comedy.
I’ll never forget my first visit to the Opera and Ballet Theatre. My friend and I wanted to see the famous ballet “Swan Lake” by Tchaikovskyi. We bought the tickets in advance and came to the theatre half an hour before the show. At 7 sharp the performance began. From the very first minute I was deeply impressed by everything I saw on the stage. The costumes were fine. The dancing and music were thrilling. The ballet seemed to me a fairy-tale. I had never seen anything more wonderful. My friend also enjoyed every minute of it. When the curtain fell at the end of the performance, there came a storm of applause. It seemed that it would never end. The dancers received call after call. They were presented with large bouquets of flowers. We also applauded enthusiastically. The performance was a great success.

There are so many kinds of music in our life. For example, rap and pop music, rock and alternative music, industrial and disco music, drum & bass and techno music, and, of course, classic music. Different people like different music. The scientists say that they can define your character if they know what music you like. For example, they suppose that people who listen rock music are very clever and reasonable. British scientists confirm that the most of young people listen to the aggressive music as metal and rock. Scientists say that these people are good students, because of their character and assiduousness. I agreewith this statement, because I think that music shows your soul and nature.
As for me, my favorite group is “Linkin Park”. They sing in different styles, such as: alternative, new metal, heavy metal and rock. I like this group because of good texts and unusual musical decisions. This group was formed in 1996. They released 9 albums. I like all their songs without distinction. My favorite song is “In The End”. There are six men in this group: Chester Bennington, Mike Shinoda, Rob Burdon, David Farell, Bred Delson and Joe Hahn. The most prominent person of the group is Chester Bennington. He is very talented. Also I like him because he overcame his drug addiction and made his musical career. Nowadays he is taken the 27th place in the hit parade list of “100 of all times top heavy metal vocalists”. He writes poems and composes music.
I always adored people who compose music and write poems. I think that such people are very talented. Also I believe that they can draw pictures and show their feelings by their music or poems. They can make you cry or laugh. Moreover they make you think about global problems or you may lie soft and just dream while you are listening to the music.
I guess that we can’t live without music. My motto is: “Silence is killing!” As for me, I always listen to the music, when I’m happy or when I’m unhappy. It helps me in my everyday life. I listen to the music everywhere: at home, in the bus, in the street.

Each of us has our own idea of rock music. Someone equates this genre to classics, and someone criticizes it mercilessly. Being a great lover of rock music, I have been trying to figure out, what the positive and negative aspects of it are enclosed in. The most vivid and broad field of study for me is rock concerts. The first show in my life was a concert given by American nu-metal band Limp Bizkit. It’s difficult for me to point out the brightest moment of the show, because everything, that was happening on stage and in the hall was just beyond description! Live and powerful music, musicians’ communication with the audience, phrases in Russian, flying from the mouth of Fred Durst-all these pleased me very much. The concert made masses of people a united, happy family. We were all singing the songs together, smiling each other, taking photos. I learned, that many fans of the band have gained a lot of interesting hobbies, as learning the English language, playing the musical instruments, just after getting acquainted with it’s songs.
I was lucky enough to go to the concerts of other American bands, as Korn and 30 seconds to mars, and I’d like to say, that with every new show I got more and more fond of this kind of music. For me it’s not just an art form. It’s a hobby, philosophy, psychology, and, as Kurt Cobain said, «it’s simply a conversation of ordinary guys».

Будучи большим любителем рок музыки, я пытаюсь выяснить, какие позитивные и негативные аспекты включает в себя этот жанр. Самым ярким и широким полем исследования для меня стали рок концерты. Первым шоу в моей жизни стал концерт американской ню-метал группы Limp Bizkit. Мне очень трудно выделить самый яркий момент шоу,так как всё, что происходило на сцене и в зале было просто неописуемо! Живая и мощная музыка, общение музыкантов со зрителями, фразы на русском языке, вылетающие из уст Фреда Дёрста – всё это очень порадовало меня. Концерт сделал из массы людей единую, дружную семью. Мы все вместе пели песни, улыбались друг другу, фотографировались. Я узнала, что многие поклонники группы нашли себе много интересных увлечений, таких как, изучение английского языка, игра на музыкальном инструменте, только после знакомства с творчеством коллектива.
Мне также посчастливилось побывать на выступлениях таких групп, как Korn и 30 seconds to mars, и мне хотелось бы сказать, что с каждым новым шоу я всё больше и больше влюбляюсь в эту музыку. Для меня это не просто вид искусства. Это хобби, философия, психология и, как говорил Курт Кобейн, “способ общения простых парней”.
