There are many interesting and useful professions, and it is really not an easy task to choose the right one.
I began to think about my future profession at the age of 15. My favourite subjects at school were mathematics and English. My teachers were well-educated people with deep knowledge of the subjects. They encouraged me in my desire to become an economist. Now I know well what I’m going to do after leaving school. I didn’t make a blind choice. It was not a sudden flash either.
I opted for a career in business economics. I came to this decision little by little. It was my father who aroused my interest in that field. You see, he is a chief economist at a large plant and I often saw him work at home and discuss business matters with his colleagues.
To become a good specialist in economic matters and business one must know many sciences, such as business economics, finance and credits, statistics, history of economic theory and philosophy, mathematics, as well as economic management, trade business and, of course, marketing, which is a modern philosophy of business.
It is very important for a specialist in business matters to be a skilful user of computers and to speak at least one foreign language. It should better be English as it is the most popular language of international business communication.
You’ll be able to follow business developments in the world by listening to radio and TV news, by reading newspapers or magazines, or by getting in contact with your business partners abroad.
If I pass my entrance exams successfully and enter the University, I’ll try to study to the best of my abilities to achieve my life’s ambition and to justify the hopes of my parents. I also hope that I’ll never regret my choice and get a well-paid and interesting job afterwards.

Sooner or later all of us face the problem of choosing a career when we are to decide what we are going to be in future. Choosing a career is not a simple matter — in fact, it can be one of the most important in our life. You don’t need to hurry making a decision. • Pay. Is the size of your salary important? Generally speaking, it is important. • Place of work. You ought to decide whether you want to work indoors (cashier, chemist, librarian, secretary, etc.) or outdoors (driver, firefighter, estate agent, etc.). Your choice may be based on your lifestyle or health condition.
• Full-time, part-time, flexitime jobs. There is no set pattern to part-time working. It may involve a later start and earlier finish time than a full-time position, working mornings or afternoons only, fewer working days in a week for less salary. It is a perfect variant for students who want to juggle their studies and work, as well as flexitime jobs. Employees decide by themselves when to begin and end their working day.
• Communication with different people. Meeting and dealing with people doesn’t appeal to every person. Some people are not very sociable; on the contrary, they are timid, shy and diffident. Frankly speaking, it is a great talent to have communication skills. If you think you have it, you may choose a profession involving close contacts with people, such as a doctor, a journalist, a lawyer, a guide, a teacher.
• Business trips. You should keep in mind that some professions imply travelling all over the world, such as tour guides, scientists, actors, journalists, pilots and so on. It’s not always fun. Business trips may last a week, a month and even more. You may be sent to London for a few days, then you’ll spend only a few hours in Paris, and right after that, without any rest, you’ll have to go to Berlin. • Jobs connected with risk. Such jobs are usually well-paid, but very dangerous. A police officer, a fireman, a bodyguard, a lifeguard — these are the names of jobs which imply risk. Those, who want a rewarding but demanding job and who are ready to devote all their lives to it, may choose this kind of work.

When you leave school you understand that the time to choose your future profession, your future life has become. It’s not an easy to make the right choice of a job. I have known for long time that leaving school is the beginning of my independent life, the beginning of a far more serious examination of my abilities and character.
What do I want to be when I leave school? It’s very important question for me. A few years ago it was difficult for me to give a definite answer. As the years passed I changed my mind a lot of times about what science or field of industry to specialize in. It’s difficult to make up my mind and choose one of the hundreds jobs to which I might be better suited. A coupe of years ago I wanted to become a doctor, you know I wanted to help people who had problems with health. Then I wanted to become a policeman, then a spaceman, I even wanted to become a professional football player. But all of them now are in the past; they were like children’s dreams and nothing more. Now I have already decided what to do. I’d like to be an aviator. I know that it’s very difficult. I should know perfectly everything about the planes, airports, weather and other things. You know that the weather is very important thing for the flights too. I must be well educated and well informed. So that’s why at first I am going to go to the Aviation University in Moscow, then when I finish studding I’ll go to my country to try to get a job in the air companies. You know may be something will be not OK, because I don’t know what will happen tomorrow, but I know that I’ll do everything to realize my plane and my dreams.
I also want to say that the profession should be chosen according to the character and hobbies of the person. That’s why parents mustn’t make their children choose the thing they like (parents like). Children must do it themselves. Because they must love the thing they do, believe that people need them and their job will bring them more pleasure.

Remember that the job that you are choosing for yourself must surely be interesting for you and bring you satisfaction.
Many people have their hobbies, for example handicraft, cooking, learning languages ??or programming, and in the future they choose a profession that is related to their hobby. I am sure that these people will always be interested in working in the chosen field, because they will enjoy doing favourite work.
The right choice of the profession allows people to avoid boring, tiring or unpromising work. If you make the right choice according to your character, knowledge and skills you will not be disappointed in the future and your life will never be boring.

There are many interesting and
useful professions, and it is really not an easy task to choose the right one.
I began to think about my future
profession at the age of 15. My favourite subjects at school were mathematics
and English. My teachers were well-educated people with deep knowledge of the
subjects. They encouraged me in my desire to become an economist. Now I know
well what I’m going to do after leaving school. I didn’t make a blind choice. It
was not a sudden flash either.
I opted for a career in business
economics. I came to this decision little by little. It was my father who
aroused my interest in that field. You see, he is a chief economist at a large
plant and I often saw him work at home and discuss business matters with his
colleagues.
To become a good specialist in
economic matters and business one must know many sciences, such as business
economics, finance and credits, statistics, history of economic theory and
philosophy, mathematics, as well as economic management, trade business and, of
course, marketing, which is a modern philosophy of business.
It is very important for a
specialist in business matters to be a skilful user of computers and to speak at
least one foreign language. It should better be English as it is the most
popular language of international business communication.
You’ll be able to follow business
developments in the world by listening to radio and TV news, by reading
newspapers or magazines, or by getting in contact with your business partners
abroad.
If I pass my entrance exams
successfully and enter the University, I’ll try to study to the best of my
abilities to achieve my life’s ambition and to justify the hopes of my parents.
I also hope that I’ll never regret my choice and get a well-paid and interesting
job afterwards.
Maybe I should consider a job in
a world of banking. There’s a surprisingly wide range to choose from, in the
financial world.
For example, I could work for a
big international company, run my own company, write about economics as a
financial journalist, run my own International Business Research Agency, raise

There is a wide choice of different professions and I`d like to tell you about my hesitation what to choose. In my childhood I wanted to become a famous singer or actor but when I was aware of all the difficulties of these professions I decided to refuse of my dream. Then I was going to become a vet. I imagined myself treating different animals, taking care of them, feeding and walking with them in the park, but this dream hadn`t also come true.
It goes without saying that every person must choose his profession according his natural abilities and inclinations to it. So I have decided to connect my life with a profession of a teacher because I am sure that it`s my cup of tea. On the one hand it`s a great responsibility for children, on the other hand it`s a very interesting, exciting and valuable profession in our life. Besides you won`t be able to succeed as a teacher if you don`t like children. Your success depends on a lot of things. At first you should be communicative, very organized and hardworking. You must be skilful in your profession. It is also necessary to understand pupils, give them a helping hand and be ready to solve their problems. More than that you must be polite and tactful.
Profession of a teacher is a great profession and it is known that who doesn`t work in this sphere, won`t be able to understand all the essence of it.
Nowadays there are thousands of different occupations but the most important role in choosing this or that one, plays a salary, of course. It is so, but to my mind, it`s impossible to work only for that purpose “earning a lot of money”.Our job must bring us satisfaction and always only pleasant emotions. So in conclusion I`d like to advise people to choose their profession carefully, taking every thing into their consideration.
Some people need adrenaline and extreme to feel that their life is going forward, and others prefer a passive recreation. The thing is that each of us feels pleasure spending holiday where it is desirable. It is very important for people who work hard. There are a lot of possibilities to make their life more interesting and merry. The best option is the choice of opportunities for people who want excellent to relax helps make the travel agents.
A travel agent offer different kinds of relaxation. It may be a sea voyage, shop tours, study tours, excursions and simply an enjoyable holiday.

I like the approach to the choice of professions in European countries. After school, many are going to travel to determine their place in life, or try their hand at some professions. Perhaps it is better.
It is important that young man or woman correctly identified for itself its possibilities, and the inclination. At such times, parents play a very important role in a variety of ways: decide everything for the child themselves compulsively pushing their children to the choices that yourself, look around the familiar and more. По моему мнению, школьникам, которым семнадцать лет тяжело сделать правильный выбор. Ведь не до конца понимаешь, что для тебя лучше. Теория – это одно, а когда дело доходит до практики, многие не справляются с задачами выбранной профессии.

The healthcare industry is steadily widened and need in new type specialists, first of all in the genetics. The genetic experiments for fighting against the health problems and different pathologies cannot be conducted without top experts.
For people, who care about the nature, fauna and flora, the professions in the ecology will be more preferable. Specialties in environmental protection will be also in-demand in several years, because the state of our planet is more than unsatisfied and need in emergency aid. My future profession
A child usually dreams to be a doctor, a teacher, a firefighter or even an astronaut in the future. These professions are very important, so it is wonderful when child’s dream comes true and he or she becomes an expert in the particular field, for example, in medicine.
I think that everyone should work. It may be easy or difficult work, well-paid or low-paid. However, what is even more important is that the work must bring the joy. Of course, the salary is important nowadays but if you are not happy with your job, the salary will mean almost nothing. In this case you should find something else, something that will make you smile. This work even may become just a little addition to the main job.
My dream is to become an interpreter in the future. Why have I chosen this particular profession? The answer is quite simple. I like studying foreign languages and cultures. When I study a new foreign language, a new world seems to be opened to me. I can find something unusual, unique, fascinating or even strange there but it is the wonderful experience.
The profession of an interpreter gives you an opportunity to meet new people from different countries or social groups. It teaches you to make decisions right here and right now. It is the experience that you cannot get even being a translator, for example. This is the main reason why I want to be an interpreter.
I will do my best to become an interpreter in the future because this is the work that can make me happy.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Masha. I have finished school this year. It is my dream to become a student of the English department. I want to study English, German and maybe French.
Knowledge of a foreign language opens a new world for us. If you know a foreign language, you can speak with foreigners and it is a way to better understanding. If you know a foreign language you can read books in the original, and it is a way to better understanding of other people’s nature and culture.
In our country children study different foreign languages. At school I took up English. I read stories by English, American and Australian writers. It has become my habit to read English books in adapted form every day. I learn poems and do a lot of grammar exercises.
Now I know I must work hard to master English. Studying the English language under the guidance of the University teachers I want to learn much about the history of words, their origin and usage in ancient times. For example; the word “window” is made of two very old Anglo-Saxon words, such as “wind” and “eye”. The word “window” means “the wind’s eye”. It tells us of the time when a window was only a hole in the wall, and the wind used to come through it.
When I finish my studies, I’ll begin teaching in a secondary school. I think I’ll enjoy the work greatly. Teaching is a noble profession. In modern times all kinds of specialists need foreign languages in their work — teachers, doctors, engineers and people in many other professions. If a specialist doesn’t know a foreign language he can’t use all the foreign books which he needs in his work. I want to teach my pupils to read English books in the original, so they won’t depend on translations.

As we know there are many professions in the world and all of them are necessary and important. Choosing the job is one of the most important decisions for every person. Probably the chosen profession makes every person happy and successful for the rest of his life. The future profession should be interesting and meet the demands of the person. Of course, I understand that the sooner I will choose my future profession the better it will be. I can attend specialized classes to be well prepared for the entrance exams. When they leave school, millions of young people begin an independent life. They can start a working career, go into business or continue schooling to receive a higher education. There is one institute or a few institutes in nearly every Russian city. There are dozens of them in Moscow and St. Petersburg. If you want to get a professional training you can enter a technical college. They say that there are over 2000 professions in the world so it is quite difficult to choose and make a decision. Some follow their own choice and some follow their parents advice.
I have asked myself a lot of times: “What do I want to be when I leave school?” A few years ago it was difficult for me to give a definite answer. As the years passed I changed my mind a lot of times about which science or sphere of industry to specialize in. It was difficult to make up my mind and choose one of the hundreds of jobs to which I might be better suited.
What are the main reasons for choosing your future profession? First of all it should seem interesting to you. An exciting job that you really like is an important component of happiness in life. Then you should consider the problem of earning a living. The most fascinating job will bring no satisfaction if you starve. And there is the very up-to-date problem of unemployment: you should choose a profession which will produce a job.
A couple of years ago I wanted to become a doctor. I thought it was a very noble profession. I was good at biology and chemistry in the 8th and 9th forms. I wanted to help people who had problems with their health. I know that a doctor should be noble in work and life, kind and attentive to people, responsible and reasonable, honest and prudent. A doctor who is selfish and dishonest can’t be good at his profession. I tried to do my best to develop good traits in myself.
Now I have already decided what to do. I’d like to be a teacher. I know that it is very difficult to become a good teacher. You should know perfectly the subject you teach, you must be well-educated and well-informed. An ignorant teacher teaches ignorance, a fearful teacher teaches fear, a bored teacher teaches boredom. But a good teacher develops in his pupils a desire for knowledge and love for truth and beauty. As John Steinbeck once said, — «a great teacher is a great artist and you know how few great artists there are in the world». Teaching might even be the greatest of all the arts. It is a great responsibility to educate children. I think that’s the reason why teachers are deeply respected.
More and more people realize that every educated person should know a foreign language. That’s why I’m going to become an English teacher. I liked English when we first started learning it, and it is still one of my favourite subjects. There are many English authors and they are so different and so interesting. We have had some Shakespeare and other British writers in Russian in classes of literature and I would like to read them all in the original. I will try to enter the department of foreign languages at the University.
You study 5 years at Russian universities. After your final exams you are a qualified teacher of English or interpreter. University education is deep and many-sided. Some students like a post-graduate course to follow an academic career. Most university graduates take up teaching and re¬turn to school. I know that a teacher’s job is quite difficult. A. teacher can’t say that he knows everything in his field. He goes on learning his subject during all his career to be able to answer any question. He should be an example of competence.

Пару лет назад я хотел стать врачом. Я думал, что это очень благородная профессия. В 8-м и 9-м классе мне хорошо давались биология и химия. Я хотел помочь людям, у которых были проблемы со здоровьем. Я знал, что врач должен быть благородным в работе и в жизни, добрым и внимательным к людям, ответственным и рассудительным, честным и благоразумным. When you leave school you understand that the time to choose your future profession, your future life has become. It’s not an easy to make the right choice of a job. I have known for long time that leaving school is the beginning of my independent life, the beginning of a far more serious examination of my abilities and character.
What do I want to be when I leave school? It’s very important question for me. A few years ago it was difficult for me to give a definite answer. As the years passed I changed my mind a lot of times about what science or field of industry to specialize in. It’s difficult to make up my mind and choose one of the hundreds jobs to which I might be better suited. A coupe of years ago I wanted to become a doctor, you know I wanted to help people who had problems with health. Then I wanted to become a policeman, then a spaceman, I even wanted to become a professional football player. But all of them now are in the past; they were like children’s dreams and nothing more. Now I have already decided what to do. I’d like to be an aviator. I know that it’s very difficult. I should know perfectly everything about the planes, airports, weather and other things. You know that the weather is very important thing for the flights too. I must be well educated and well informed. So that’s why at first I am going to go to the Aviation University in Moscow, then when I finish studding I’ll go to my country to try to get a job in the air companies. You know may be something will be not OK, because I don’t know what will happen tomorrow, but I know that I’ll do everything to realize my plane and my dreams.
I also want to say that the profession should be chosen according to the character and hobbies of the person. That’s why parents mustn’t make their children choose the thing they like (parents like). useful professions, and it is really not an easy task to choose the right one.
I began to think about my future
profession at the age of 15. My favourite subjects at school were mathematics
and English. My teachers were well-educated people with deep knowledge of the
subjects. They encouraged me in my desire to become an economist. Now I know
well what I’m going to do after leaving school. I didn’t make a blind choice. It
was not a sudden flash either.
I opted for a career in business
economics. I came to this decision little by little. It was my father who
aroused my interest in that field. You see, he is a chief economist at a large
plant and I often saw him work at home and discuss business matters with his
colleagues.
To become a good specialist in
economic matters and business one must know many sciences, such as business
economics, finance and credits, statistics, history of economic theory and
philosophy, mathematics, as well as economic management, trade business and, of
course, marketing, which is a modern philosophy of business.
It is very important for a
specialist in business matters to be a skilful user of computers and to speak at
least one foreign language. It should better be English as it is the most
popular language of international business communication.
You’ll be able to follow business
developments in the world by listening to radio and TV news, by reading
newspapers or magazines, or by getting in contact with your business partners
abroad.
If I pass my entrance exams
successfully and enter the University, I’ll try to study to the best of my
abilities to achieve my life’s ambition and to justify the hopes of my parents.
I also hope that I’ll never regret my choice and get a well-paid and interesting
job afterwards.
Maybe I should consider a job in
a world of banking. There’s a surprisingly wide range to choose from, in the
financial world.
For example, I could work for a
big international company, run my own company, write about economics as a

There is a wide choice of different professions and I`d like to tell you about my hesitation what to choose. In my childhood I wanted to become a famous singer or actor but when I was aware of all the difficulties of these professions I decided to refuse of my dream. Then I was going to become a vet. I imagined myself treating different animals, taking care of them, feeding and walking with them in the park, but this dream hadn`t also come true.
It goes without saying that every person must choose his profession according his natural abilities and inclinations to it. So I have decided to connect my life with a profession of a teacher because I am sure that it`s my cup of tea. On the one hand it`s a great responsibility for children, on the other hand it`s a very interesting, exciting and valuable profession in our life. Besides you won`t be able to succeed as a teacher if you don`t like children. Your success depends on a lot of things. At first you should be communicative, very organized and hardworking. You must be skilful in your profession. It is also necessary to understand pupils, give them a helping hand and be ready to solve their problems. More than that you must be polite and tactful.
Profession of a teacher is a great profession and it is known that who doesn`t work in this sphere, won`t be able to understand all the essence of it.
Nowadays there are thousands of different occupations but the most important role in choosing this or that one, plays a salary, of course. It is so, but to my mind, it`s impossible to work only for that purpose “earning a lot of money”.Our job must bring us satisfaction and always only pleasant emotions. So in conclusion I`d like to advise people to choose their profession carefully, taking every thing into their consideration.

Часто в своей жизни мы сталкиваемся с выражением: «Выбор не так легко, как кажется». Каждый день перед нами встаёт выбор и мы должны принять решение. Это решение не всегда даётся нам легко. И первый наш серьёзный выбор, который повлияет на нашу жизнь – это выбор профессии. Трудно сделать этот выбор, когда в мире есть много интересного.
По моему мнению, школьникам, которым семнадцать лет тяжело сделать правильный выбор. Ведь не до конца понимаешь, что для тебя лучше. Теория – это одно, а когда дело доходит до практики, многие не справляются с задачами выбранной профессии.
Мне нравится, как подходят к выбору профессий в Европейских странах. После школы, многие едут путешествовать, чтобы определить своё место в жизни или пробуют себя в некоторых профессиях. Возможно так лучше.
Важно, что бы юноша или девушка правильно определили для самого себя свои возможности, склонности. В такие моменты родители играют очень важную роль в различных вариантах: решают всё за ребёнка сами, навязчиво подталкивают своих чад к решениям, которые приняли сами, наводят справки по знакомым и прочее. Огромную роль так же играет в наше время в выборе профессии и учебного заведения размер кошелька родителей. Очень часто это приводит к негативным последствиям.
Конечно, в жизни не плохо бы найти «свою» профессию, ту, которая ближе к тебе, к твоей душе, чтобы не мучиться всю жизнь. Но зачастую мы выбираем не то, что нам хочется, а то, что приходится: несмотря на возможность выбора, мы смело идем за друзьями и тем самым несознательно губим свою жизнь.
Я считаю, что нужно выбирать профессию не только сердцем, но и умом. Взвесить все «за» и «против». Потом принимать решение, от которого зависит вся твоя будущая жизнь.
The global trends of the dynamically developing world influence on the formation of the future professions. Formerly, the students might choose their future professions in the fifth or sixth classes, because the primary trends were obvious enough, but nowadays the ever-changing global market dictates its terms. My generation should choose the profession of the future, which are not existed right now. Thus, the issue of choosing a career is getting harder.
What tendencies should our generation draw attention to? There are three professional areas per minimum, which will need in the human resources. If you choose one of it, you will be able to adapt to the global changes and requirements of the market and you will have permanent field for your individual and professional advancement.
The information technology is the most popular and high-demand industry even now, and it will be on-fire specialty in the next ten and twenty years. The key factor is the tendency of automation and optimization of the labor. Accordingly, the most required profession of the near future will be connected with the soft engineering. But there are also several branches such as the industry of virtual entertainment, finances and economics, design or optimization for reduction of the manual labor.
The healthcare industry is steadily widened and need in new type specialists, first of all in the genetics. The genetic experiments for fighting against the health problems and different pathologies cannot be conducted without top experts.
For people, who care about the nature, fauna and flora, the professions in the ecology will be more preferable. Specialties in environmental protection will be also in-demand in several years, because the state of our planet is more than unsatisfied and need in emergency aid. Having chosen a career in ecology you will have a chance to save the Earth.

What do you want to be when you grow up? We have heard this question many times during our school years. Perhaps, it was difficult for us to give a definite answer earlier. But now we understand that the time to choose our future profession has come. Finishing school is the beginning of an independent life for millions of school leavers. Many roads are open before us: technical schools, colleges and universities.

Further training, promotion prospects and job conditions should be also taken into account.

In my opinion, a job should be interesting and socially important. Some jobs are considered to be more suitable for men and others for women. You should also decide whether you want to work indoors or outdoors.

To become a successful businessman you should know a lot. So after finishing school I want to enter the university and to study marketing or management. Management deals mainly with people. A manager is a person who directly supervises people in an organization. Managers spend a great deal of time communicating, coordinating and making decisions affecting the daily operation of their organization. My future profession
A child usually dreams to be a doctor, a teacher, a firefighter or even an astronaut in the future. These professions are very important, so it is wonderful when child’s dream comes true and he or she becomes an expert in the particular field, for example, in medicine.
I think that everyone should work. It may be easy or difficult work, well-paid or low-paid. However, what is even more important is that the work must bring the joy. Of course, the salary is important nowadays but if you are not happy with your job, the salary will mean almost nothing. In this case you should find something else, something that will make you smile. This work even may become just a little addition to the main job.
My dream is to become an interpreter in the future. Why have I chosen this particular profession? The answer is quite simple. I like studying foreign languages and cultures. When I study a new foreign language, a new world seems to be opened to me. I can find something unusual, unique, fascinating or even strange there but it is the wonderful experience.
The profession of an interpreter gives you an opportunity to meet new people from different countries or social groups. It teaches you to make decisions right here and right now. It is the experience that you cannot get even being a translator, for example. This is the main reason why I want to be an interpreter.
I will do my best to become an interpreter in the future because this is the work that can make me happy.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Masha. I have finished school this year. It is my dream to become a student of the English department. I want to study English, German and maybe French.
Knowledge of a foreign language opens a new world for us. If you know a foreign language, you can speak with foreigners and it is a way to better understanding. If you know a foreign language you can read books in the original, and it is a way to better understanding of other people’s nature and culture.
In our country children study different foreign languages. At school I took up English. I read stories by English, American and Australian writers. It has become my habit to read English books in adapted form every day. I learn poems and do a lot of grammar exercises.
Now I know I must work hard to master English. Studying the English language under the guidance of the University teachers I want to learn much about the history of words, their origin and usage in ancient times. For example; the word “window” is made of two very old Anglo-Saxon words, such as “wind” and “eye”. The word “window” means “the wind’s eye”. It tells us of the time when a window was only a hole in the wall, and the wind used to come through it.
When I finish my studies, I’ll begin teaching in a secondary school. I think I’ll enjoy the work greatly. Teaching is a noble profession. In modern times all kinds of specialists need foreign languages in their work — teachers, doctors, engineers and people in many other professions. If a specialist doesn’t know a foreign language he can’t use all the foreign books which he needs in his work. I want to teach my pupils to read English books in the original, so they won’t depend on translations.

As we know there are many professions in the world and all of them are necessary and important. Choosing the job is one of the most important decisions for every person. Probably the chosen profession makes every person happy and successful for the rest of his life. The future profession should be interesting and meet the demands of the person. Of course, I understand that the sooner I will choose my future profession the better it will be. I can attend specialized classes to be well prepared for the entrance exams. But I have not made up my mind yet. To avoid mistakes I discuss career prospects with my friends even today. Some of us want to be became physicians, teachers, economists and so on. But, in the long run, I have realized that I like to communicate with people and I want to help them. So I have made a decision to become a lawyer. Moreover, I like traveling around the world. I like learning foreign languages. That is why I would like to be an international lawyer.
In conclusion, I should say that there are neither good or bad professions. The problem is that every profession should fit the person to make him happy.

When they leave school, millions of young people begin an independent life. They can start a working career, go into business or continue schooling to receive a higher education. There is one institute or a few institutes in nearly every Russian city. There are dozens of them in Moscow and St. Petersburg. If you want to get a professional training you can enter a technical college. They say that there are over 2000 professions in the world so it is quite difficult to choose and make a decision. Some follow their own choice and some follow their parents advice.
I have asked myself a lot of times: “What do I want to be when I leave school?” A few years ago it was difficult for me to give a definite answer. As the years passed I changed my mind a lot of times about which science or sphere of industry to specialize in. It was difficult to make up my mind and choose one of the hundreds of jobs to which I might be better suited.
What are the main reasons for choosing your future profession? First of all it should seem interesting to you. An exciting job that you really like is an important component of happiness in life. Then you should consider the problem of earning a living. The most fascinating job will bring no satisfaction if you starve. And there is the very up-to-date problem of unemployment: you should choose a profession which will produce a job.
A couple of years ago I wanted to become a doctor. I thought it was a very noble profession. I was good at biology and chemistry in the 8th and 9th forms. I wanted to help people who had problems with their health. I know that a doctor should be noble in work and life, kind and attentive to people, responsible and reasonable, honest and prudent. A doctor who is selfish and dishonest can’t be good at his profession. I tried to do my best to develop good traits in myself.
Now I have already decided what to do. I’d like to be a teacher. I know that it is very difficult to become a good teacher. You should know perfectly the subject you teach, you must be well-educated and well-informed. An ignorant teacher teaches ignorance, a fearful teacher teaches fear, a bored teacher teaches boredom. But a good teacher develops in his pupils a desire for knowledge and love for truth and beauty. As John Steinbeck once said, — «a great teacher is a great artist and you know how few great artists there are in the world». Teaching might even be the greatest of all the arts. It is a great responsibility to educate children. I think that’s the reason why teachers are deeply respected.
More and more people realize that every educated person should know a foreign language. That’s why I’m going to become an English teacher. I liked English when we first started learning it, and it is still one of my favourite subjects. There are many English authors and they are so different and so interesting. We have had some Shakespeare and other British writers in Russian in classes of literature and I would like to read them all in the original. I will try to enter the department of foreign languages at the University.
You study 5 years at Russian universities. After your final exams you are a qualified teacher of English or interpreter. University education is deep and many-sided. Some students like a post-graduate course to follow an academic career. Most university graduates take up teaching and re¬turn to school. I know that a teacher’s job is quite difficult. A. teacher can’t say that he knows everything in his field. He goes on learning his subject during all his career to be able to answer any question. He should be an example of competence.
