Of course also we have national traditions, food, beautiful places, outstanding people, but our anthem and flag are symbols of one particular country- our country.
Today I would like to speak about the flag of Russian Federation. The flag of Russia is a tricolour flag consisting of three equal horizontal fields: white on the top, blue in the middle, and red on the bottom. The flag was used in 1696 for the first time and later on after few changes it has become a national flag for the whole country.
There are different variety of meanings of these colors. People believe, that somehow these symbols affect our life.
White color is a symbol of nobility and frankness. Long time many noble families used to live in this territory. Because of Russia is a big country our people had a big influence on the whole world. Another thing is that our people are very frank. Our personality is so that we always choose to be hardworking and hospitable.
Blue color is a symbol of faithfulness, honesty and chastity. I can say these features are very important for any person. But I heard that different nationalities have different personality. Our people will always tell you the truth and honestly can tell you about any situation. I respect it a lot. And I am proud to be Russian.
And finally red color is a color of love and courage. Well many countries can tell you they respect love and honesty. But courage! It is about Russia. If you study history, you have learnt how many times we had fought with other countries. Only thank to our courage people we won all these wars.
So as you can see it’s not only a piece of material, but every color was properly chosen and explained.
In our school we have few flags: inside and outside of the building. And frankly speaking, I think it’s a big shame to anyone, who doesn’t know our flag and its meaning.
