My household chores – (4)
Doing household
chores is an essential part of our daily life. Everybody wants
to come back home after school or work and enjoy the quiet and
cozy atmosphere of home. So, cleaning the house is a
responsibility of the whole family. Our family is not an
exception. We share our household chores to help each other.
As far as I am
concerned, I have some household duties. Well, since childhood I
got used to wash the dishes after meals. However, recently, my
dad has bought a new dishwasher. So, now 1 just load or empty
it. Sometimes 1 help my mom with cooking and clear or lay the
table. As I am a good cooker, I often bake cakes or pies. We
have lots of plants at home. That’s why I regularly water them.

My Household Duties (1)
This is my last
year at school, and I work hard to pass my final exams
successfully. As I am very busy, I can’t help my parents much in
keeping the house.
But still I have
some household duties. Every day I do
my room and my bed, wash up dishes,
dust the furniture and usually go to the baker’s after I have
dinner.
I buy some brown
and white bread, biscuits and cakes there. The shop is not far
from our house and it doesn’t take me long to do everyday
shopping.
Once a v/eek I
help my mother to do all other work about the house. We wash our
linen, iron and mend it, clean the flat. We beat the dust out of
the carpets, vacuum the floors and polish them. It’s not

Scheduling
The most effective way for me to get my household chores completed is to schedule or list them. This is probably the best way for the kids to get their household chores done also.
About the house
As far as I remember I’ve always had something to do about the house. My mom was very wise about that. Once she had decided what she wanted her children to do as household chores, she drawn up a chore schedule for my brother and me. She made it as a table with days of the week going across the top and the chores listed down the page. It was a simple list hanging on our refrigerator by a magnet. When we were little our responsibility was to wipe lower kitchen cabinets and dust low bookshelves. I think it was a very good idea. As I grew older I started doing the dishes after dinner and picked up the dinner mess. I also had to mop floors and vacuum. My brother has always been rather opposed to housework, so he just kept his room tidy, making the bed and putting his things away.
Responsibilities
We’ve recently moved to a bigger house, so we’ve got lots of things to do. With me now responsible for doing most of the cleaning, my younger brother has a responsibility of mowing the lawn, taking out the rubbish, pruning the trees and cleaning up the yard. He says he likes doing yard work. He’s a sportsman, so he enjoys everything physical. He can occasionally do the laundry, which my mom usually does, but he hates doing the cleaning. As for the parents, they both work full time, so it’s difficult for them to manage it. My mom still does most of the cooking, washes the windows in the house and cleans the carpets and my dad is responsible for doing repairs which is often needed when you live in a house rather than in a flat.
Conclusion
I believe chores are really life lessons for children, so I’m deeply thankful to my mom for such homemaking school.

Doing household
chores is an essential part of our daily life. Everybody wants
to come back home after school or work and enjoy the quiet and
cozy atmosphere of home. So, cleaning the house is a
responsibility of the whole family. Our family is not an
exception. We share our household chores to help each other.
As far as I am
concerned, I have some household duties. Well, since childhood I
got used to wash the dishes after meals. However, recently, my
dad has bought a new dishwasher. So, now 1 just load or empty

I clean the house with my mom on Saturday. But during the week I have to clean the dust, water the flowers and vacuum the floor.
My brother and dad take care about the garden.
That’s it. Sometime we fight for our duties because we don’t have time or wish to do many things. But we respect and love each other. We want to make our home more beautiful and comfortable. My parents have already done a great job. They grew us up hospitable and hardworking.
Sometime we can change our duties or have something extra. Often we like to do everything together. We cheer up each other, say some jokes. Thus family spirit becomes stronger.
I hope in future I will have the same relationships in my family. I have a great model of the best parents in the world and I see how much they respect each other and us as well.

Scheduling
The most effective way for me to get my household chores completed is to schedule or list them. This is probably the best way for the kids to get their household chores done also.
About the house
As far as I remember I’ve always had something to do about the house. My mom was very wise about that. Once she had decided what she wanted her children to do as household chores, she drawn up a chore schedule for my brother and me. She made it as a table with days of the week going across the top and the chores listed down the page. It was a simple list hanging on our refrigerator by a magnet. When we were little our responsibility was to wipe lower kitchen cabinets and dust low bookshelves. I think it was a very good idea. As I grew older I started doing the dishes after dinner and picked up the dinner mess. I also had to mop floors and vacuum. My brother has always been rather opposed to housework, so he just kept his room tidy, making the bed and putting his things away.
Responsibilities
We’ve recently moved to a bigger house, so we’ve got lots of things to do. With me now responsible for doing most of the cleaning, my younger brother has a responsibility of mowing the lawn, taking out the rubbish, pruning the trees and cleaning up the yard. He says he likes doing yard work. He’s a sportsman, so he enjoys everything physical. He can occasionally do the laundry, which my mom usually does, but he hates doing the cleaning. As for the parents, they both work full time, so it’s difficult for them to manage it. My mom still does most of the cooking, washes the windows in the house and cleans the carpets and my dad is responsible for doing repairs which is often needed when you live in a house rather than in a flat.
Conclusion
I believe chores are really life lessons for children, so I’m deeply thankful to my mom for such homemaking school.

I’m sure that in many other countries too. Some children are not happy about this because simply watching TV or playing computer games could be much more fun. From the other hand, it is important for every person to have at least some responsibilities. As for me, I have my own household chores, as well as, other members of my family. Cooking is the main responsibility of my mum and I sometimes help her with that. My own chores include washing the dishes, cleaning the dust and vacuum cleaning. My father is responsible for repairing some devices and objects in our flat. There is one thing that all the members of my family do together. It’s shopping for food and for clothes. I can’t say that these chores are difficult or take a lot of my time. I know that only several years ago women spent much more time on house work, when they didn’t have such household appliances as microwave, washing machine, vacuum cleaner, blender and others. In my opinion, having certain responsibilities is very important. It helps to understand and respect other people’s work, and also to overcome laziness.

Once a v/eek I help my mother to
do all other work about the house. We wash our linen, iron and mend it, clean
the flat. We beat the dust out of the carpets, vacuum the floors and polish
them. It’s not difficult to keep the flat tidy if you do your rooms regularly.
This is my usual round of duties. But sometimes I have some other things to do.
When my mother is ill or away
from home, I do the cooking and the washing up, the buying of food and the
planning of meals. I am not a good cook, but my vegetable soup is always tasty.
I can also boil an egg or fry some meat. I also lay the table and clear away the
dishes. If I’m too busy or can’t do these things, all the duties are organized
among other members of our family.
Sometimes I have to visit
everyday services: hairdresser’s, shoemaker’s, tailor’s, dry-cleaner’s,
photographer’s. At the hairdresser’s I have my hair cut and waved. At the
shoemaker’s I have my shoes and boots repaired, at the photographer’s I have my
photos taken. Service is generally good, but in some cases it leaves much to be
desired.
My brother has his own duties at
home. He helps to fix and repair some things. For example, he repairs electrical
appliances when they are out of order. He has already repaired our mother’s
electric iron, my desk lamp and his own shaver.
Last year I was at my
grandparents. They are elderly people and need care and attention. During my
stay there, I swept the floors and washed them, fed the chickens, collected the
eggs and weeded the vegetable-beds. I don’t know how to milk the cow but I
helped to feed the other animals: lambs, sheep and pigs. I enjoyed this work
very much.

Я последний год учусь в школе и усердно работаю,
чтобы сдать успешно выпускные экзамены. Так как я очень занята, я не могу много
помогать родителям по дому.
Однако у меня все-таки есть определенные домашние
обязанности. Каждый день я убираю мою комнату и постель, мою посуду, протираю
мебель от пыли и после обеда обычно хожу в булочную.
Я покупаю немного черного и белого хлеба, печенье и
пирожные. Магазин находится недалеко от нашего дома, и у меня уходит мало
времени на ежедневные покупки.
Раз в неделю я помогаю маме выполнять другую работу
по дому. Мы стираем белье, гладим и чиним его, убираем в квартире. Мы выбиваем
ковры от пыли, пылесосим пол и полируем его. Не трудно содержать квартиру в
порядке, если ты убираешь систематически. Это обычный круг моих обязанностей. Но
иногда мне надо делать другую работу.
Когда мама больна или ее нет дома, я готовлю еду и
мою посуду, покупаю продукты и составляю меню. Я не очень хорошо готовлю, но мой
овощной суп всегда вкусный. Я могу также сварить яйцо и пожарить немного мяса,
накрыть на стол и убрать посуду. Если я слишком занята, то я не могу все это
делать сама, и все обязанности распределяются между членами нашей семьи.
Иногда мне нужно сходить в парикмахерскую,
мастерскую по ремонту обуви, в швейную мастерскую, в химчистку, к фотографу. В
парикмахерской я подстригаюсь и завиваю волосы. В обувной мастерской чиню туфли
и ботинки, в фотоателье я фотографируюсь. Обслуживание в общем хорошее, но в
некоторых случаях оно оставляет желать лучшего.
У моего брата свои обязанности по дому. Он помогает
установить или починить некоторые вещи, например, он чинит электроприборы, когда
они в неисправности. Он уже починил мамин утюг, мою настольную лампу и свою
бритву.
В прошлом году я была у бабушки и дедушки. Они
пожилые люди и нуждаются в заботе и внимании. Во время своего пребывания там я
подметала и мыла полы, кормила цыплят, собирала яйца, пропалывала грядки. Я не
знаю, как доить корову, но я помогала кормить других животных: ягнят, овец,
поросят. Мне очень понравилась эта работа.
