I live in a 10-storeyed brick block of flats in a peaceful district, not so far from the centre of the city. I moved here 6 years ago with my parents and a little sister. Our house is surrounded by a children’s park and some shops. Our flat is on the top floor and it’s 80 square meters, so it’s very light and spacious. It is also well-planned and comfortable. There are all necessary modern conveniences in the flat: hot and cold water, gas, heating, television and internet connection, electricity, a refuse chute.
We have a living-room, a kitchen, a bathroom, two bedrooms and a pantry. The biggest room is our kitchen. We cook there and have meals at a big wooden table. The gas-stove, the fridge and the sideboard for dishes and glassware are built-in. We use all modern kitchen gadgets here: an electric kettle, a microwave oven, a dish-washer, a coffee machine, a food processor, a toaster.
The view from the windows in our living-room is amazing. Our guests admire the picturesque scenery of the wood and the river. There is an artificial fire-place in the wall and a fluffy carpet on the parquet floor in the middle of the room. We often lie on it watching some good movie on TV. My mother is fond of growing plants, so the living-room is full of palm-trees and blooming plants. It looks fantastic.
I have a room of my own. According to my taste I chose the wallpaper for the walls and the furniture: a sofa with lovely cushions, a wardrobe, a writing desk and a floor lamp. The window is framed with peach silk curtains. The floor in my room is covered with wall-to-wall carpeting. I love my bedroom, it’s very cozy and warm.
Probably my flat isn’t ideal to someone’s mind. But for me it’s the best place to relax and meet my family. They say: “East or West, home is best”. My parents are very hospitable and we keep our house open for friends and relatives.

My home
I would like to tell you about the house where I live together with my family. It’s a modern building and it is twelve storeys high. Our apartment is on the top floor, so we use an elevator to get there. I should say that the apartment is quite spacious but at the same time cosy.
Describing my home
The flat has got three rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. The living-room is the largest one with a sofa, wall units and two big comfortable armchairs in it. There is also a small coffee table between the armchairs. The floor is covered with a soft carpet. It’s the room where our family and friends get together. We usually watch TV there, play games or just chat and rest.
My parents’ bedroom
My parents’ bedroom is much smaller. There is a double bed with bedside cabinets and a wardrobe in the room. And, surely, it’s important to mention a dressing table with a mirror where my mom spends some time every morning putting make up and getting dressed.
My room
I must say I’m lucky to have my own room. The most necessary things for me there are my computer and DVD-player which I use most. There is also a bed, a wardrobe and a bookcase where I keep my textbooks and other important stuff.
Kitchen
The last place to describe is the kitchen. It’s very light and comfortable with a beautiful dining set in it. We meet there quite often when having breakfast or dinner. We’ve got a TV in the kitchen, so it’s like a real room.
Conveniences
We have all modern conveniences in our apartment such as gas, central heating, hot and cold running water. We also have modern electric appliances: a microwave, a washing machine, a vacuum-cleaner and others.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I want to say that I adore my apartment. Wherever you are it’s always pleasant to come back home where you can feel the atmosphere of love, friendship and understanding. That is why my home is my castle.

We have a nice flat in a new block of flats. Our flat is on the fourth floor. It has all modern conveniences: central heating, gas, electricity, cold and hot water, a lift and a chute to carry rubbish down There are three rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a hall in our flat.
The living-room is the largest and most comfortable room in the flat. In the middle of the room we have a square-table with six chairs round it. To the right of the dinner-table there is a wall-unit which has several sections: a sideboard, a wardrobe and some shelves. At the opposite wall there is a piano and stool before it. Between the two large windows there is a little table with a colour TV set on it. Near the TV set there are two cosy armchairs. A small round table, a divan-bed and a standard lamp are in the left-hand corner. This small table is for newspapers and magazines. My father is used to having a rest sitting on this divan-bed reading books, newspapers, magazines or watching TV.
The bedroom is smaller than the living-room and not so light as there is only one window in it. In this room there are two beds. An alarm-clock and a small lamp with a pink lamp-shade are on the table. In the left-hand corner there is a dressing-table with a big mirror.. In this room we have a built-in wardrobe with coat-hangers to-hang clothes on. There is a thick carpet on the floor and plain light-brown curtains on the window. The third room is my study. It is not large but very cosy. There isn’t much furniture in it, only the most necessary. It has a writing-table and an armchair before it. In the right-hand corner there is a bookcase full of books, magazines and newspapers. A small table with a radio is standing in the left-hand corner. Near it there is a sofa with some cushions. In my opinion, the study is the best room in our flat.
But the warmest place in our flat is the kitchen, I think — the place where the whole family gathers every evening not only to have supper together, but also to speak and rest. I like the English proverb: “My home is my castle” because my flat is, indeed, my castle.
A person’s home is as much a reflection of his personality as the clothes he wears, the food he eats and the friends he spends his time with. Everybody has in mind an “ideal house” and an “ideal home”. How do I see my “ideal house”, how do I see my life there?

Description of the Ground Floor
All the members of our family like the ground floor. The ground floor of the house is much busier than the first one. Here you can find a hall, a large living-room with a fireplace, a cosy dining-room connected with a kitchen, a bathroom. We often gather together in the dining-room or the living-room and talk, have dinner, and celebrate holidays.
The unique feature of the ground floor is its winter garden where tropical kinds of plants and flowers grow all year round. We should be thankful to our mother for this garden which is the most beautiful corner the whole house. Undoubtedly, she has a green thumb.
Description of the First Floor
The first floor is a calm and quiet place. There are three small bedrooms, a library, a bathroom and a balcony upstairs. The library is equipped with lots of bookshelves, two comfortable armchairs, a desk and an office chair. The library is a perfect place to do the homework, do some paperwork and read.
In the bedrooms there are beds, wardrobes, mirrors. The atmosphere in the bedrooms is very comforting. When the weather is fine we bring chairs and a table to the balcony and enjoy warm evenings outside.

overcome the difficulties of our daily routine. A dream depends

things. People imagine they have a lot of money, own family, an
expensive car. Other people imagine themselves to be presidents
of different countries or whole planets, etc.
I’d like to tell
you about the house of my dream. I’d like to have my own house
on the bank of a beautiful river with crystal water, surrounded
by high mountains, covered with green forest of evergreen trees.
I would live
there with my wife and two children. I imagine my house to be a
2 storeyed building. Near the front side it has a facade with
columns and steps up to the front door. There are also two
balconies and a terrace in my house. The windows are in the
shape of arches. Through them you can see a wonderful landscape.
There are lots of fir trees and flowers around the house. And
you can walk in the shade of these trees listening to the birds
singing.
As you come
through the front door, you find yourself in a large hall with
an open fireplace. One of the doors leads to the living room.
This room faces the south, so it’s very sunny and has a lovely
view of the whole valley. In the middle of this room there’s a
thick Persian carpet.
There are few
units of furniture in this room. On the left there’s a leather
sofa and small table nearby, on the right you can see home
cinema and satellite receiver. There are two armchairs in the
corner of this room. In the living
room we spend our evenings chatting with each other, children
play with a kitten.
Then a wide
staircase takes you to the first floor where there are four
bedrooms. My children’s rooms are really vast. The wallpapers
are very colourful in bright shapes. Also there are lots of toys
to play with.
In the basement
there is a big garage for our cars. We have got two cars: one
for me and one for my wife.
Behind the house
there is a swimming bath, covered with glass. There are some
plastic armchairs around the swimming bath. Our house looks
peaceful and calm and the calmest room is my study. Next door to
the study there is our library. It is a huge room with thousands
books on history, astronomy, physics, science fictions, fantasy,
poetry, etc. Someone might think that it is an antagonism,
because everything we want to read we can receive via Internet,
but I like real books, to handle them in my hands, to read them
page by page. As for my children, they prefer associating with
their friends.
We have many
different electrical appliances in our house. They make our life
more comfortable. Also we have some robots to help us. They look
after the house, grow vegetables in our garden and involved in
cooking. So, we enjoy having greens and fresh vegetables on our
dinner table during long winters. Our house is a beautiful place
at any time of the year. In winter it’s warm and cozy, in summer

The main thing for me in the house of my dream is beauty and comfort. That’s what I imagine my future house to be. I dream to live in a private house somewhere in the quite suburb of the city. I want my kitchen to have all necessary modern equipment such as stove, refrigerator, mixer. I like when the cupboards don’t take much space and are elegant of design.
Lots of beautiful plants and flowers will decorate the lawn in front of the house and many useful fruit-trees will grow an orchard behind it.

The gas-stove, the fridge and the sideboard for dishes and glassware are built-in. We use all modern kitchen gadgets here: an electric kettle, a microwave oven, a dish-washer, a coffee machine, a food processor, a toaster.
The view from the windows in our living-room is amazing. Our guests admire the picturesque scenery of the wood and the river. There is an artificial fire-place in the wall and a fluffy carpet on the parquet floor in the middle of the room. We often lie on it watching some good movie on TV. My mother is fond of growing plants, so the living-room is full of palm-trees and blooming plants. It looks fantastic.
I have a room of my own. According to my taste I chose the wallpaper for the walls and the furniture: a sofa with lovely cushions, a wardrobe, a writing desk and a floor lamp. The window is framed with peach silk curtains. The floor in my room is covered with wall-to-wall carpeting. I love my bedroom, it’s very cozy and warm.
Probably my flat isn’t ideal to someone’s mind. But for me it’s the best place to relax and meet my family. They say: “East or West, home is best”. My parents are very hospitable and we keep our house open for friends and relatives.

The house I live in
My home
I would like to tell you about the house where I live together with my family. It’s a modern building and it is twelve storeys high. Our apartment is on the top floor, so we use an elevator to get there. I should say that the apartment is quite spacious but at the same time cosy.
Describing my home
The flat has got three rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. The living-room is the largest one with a sofa, wall units and two big comfortable armchairs in it. There is also a small coffee table between the armchairs. The floor is covered with a soft carpet. It’s the room where our family and friends get together. We usually watch TV there, play games or just chat and rest.
My parents’ bedroom
My parents’ bedroom is much smaller. There is a double bed with bedside cabinets and a wardrobe in the room. And, surely, it’s important to mention a dressing table with a mirror where my mom spends some time every morning putting make up and getting dressed.
My room
I must say I’m lucky to have my own room. The most necessary things for me there are my computer and DVD-player which I use most. There is also a bed, a wardrobe and a bookcase where I keep my textbooks and other important stuff.
Kitchen
The last place to describe is the kitchen. It’s very light and comfortable with a beautiful dining set in it. We meet there quite often when having breakfast or dinner. We’ve got a TV in the kitchen, so it’s like a real room.
Conveniences
We have all modern conveniences in our apartment such as gas, central heating, hot and cold running water. We also have modern electric appliances: a microwave, a washing machine, a vacuum-cleaner and others.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I want to say that I adore my apartment. Wherever you are it’s always pleasant to come back home where you can feel the atmosphere of love, friendship and understanding. That is why my home is my castle.

We have a nice flat in a new block of flats. Our flat is on the fourth floor. It has all modern conveniences: central heating, gas, electricity, cold and hot water, a lift and a chute to carry rubbish down There are three rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a hall in our flat.
The living-room is the largest and most comfortable room in the flat. In the middle of the room we have a square-table with six chairs round it. To the right of the dinner-table there is a wall-unit which has several sections: a sideboard, a wardrobe and some shelves. At the opposite wall there is a piano and stool before it. Between the two large windows there is a little table with a colour TV set on it. Near the TV set there are two cosy armchairs. A small round table, a divan-bed and a standard lamp are in the left-hand corner. This small table is for newspapers and magazines. My father is used to having a rest sitting on this divan-bed reading books, newspapers, magazines or watching TV.
The bedroom is smaller than the living-room and not so light as there is only one window in it. In this room there are two beds. An alarm-clock and a small lamp with a pink lamp-shade are on the table. In the left-hand corner there is a dressing-table with a big mirror.. In this room we have a built-in wardrobe with coat-hangers to-hang clothes on. There is a thick carpet on the floor and plain light-brown curtains on the window. The third room is my study. It is not large but very cosy. There isn’t much furniture in it, only the most necessary. It has a writing-table and an armchair before it. In the right-hand corner there is a bookcase full of books, magazines and newspapers. A small table with a radio is standing in the left-hand corner. Near it there is a sofa with some cushions. In my opinion, the study is the best room in our flat.
But the warmest place in our flat is the kitchen, I think — the place where the whole family gathers every evening not only to have supper together, but also to speak and rest. I like the English proverb: “My home is my castle” because my flat is, indeed, my castle.
A person’s home is as much a reflection of his personality as the clothes he wears, the food he eats and the friends he spends his time with. Everybody has in mind an “ideal house” and an “ideal home”. How do I see my “ideal house”, how do I see my life there?
There are many kinds of dwellings, from town houses, which include terraced houses, semi-detached, detached houses, to country houses.
I want to live in my own house, maybe in a cottage in the suburbs. My house will consist of the ground and the first floor. There will be six rooms in it. In front of the house I will have a small garden with different flowers. I’ll also have a garage for my car.
Here is a brief description of the house I dream of. My bathroom is very good-looking: the walls are tiled in cream, the washbasin, the toilet are pastel pink. My towels are also pink. Then I go to the kitchen to have breakfast. It is always pleasant to cook in it because it is very comfortable. I make my tea and sandwiches and have breakfast. Then I go to my work, but in the evening “there is no place like home”. I have rest in the living-room. I can sit on the sofa and read or watch TV. Then I go to the bedroom. It is my favourite room. A wide grey stone path leads to the porch. On the both sides of the path you can see colourful flowerbeds. The house is surrounded with a spacious garden where we plant fruit, vegetables and flowers.
Description of the Ground Floor
All the members of our family like the ground floor. The ground floor of the house is much busier than the first one. Here you can find a hall, a large living-room with a fireplace, a cosy dining-room connected with a kitchen, a bathroom. We often gather together in the dining-room or the living-room and talk, have dinner, and celebrate holidays.
The unique feature of the ground floor is its winter garden where tropical kinds of plants and flowers grow all year round. We should be thankful to our mother for this garden which is the most beautiful corner the whole house. Undoubtedly, she has a green thumb.
Description of the First Floor
The first floor is a calm and quiet place. There are three small bedrooms, a library, a bathroom and a balcony upstairs. The library is equipped with lots of bookshelves, two comfortable armchairs, a desk and an office chair. The library is a perfect place to do the homework, do some paperwork and read.
In the bedrooms there are beds, wardrobes, mirrors. The atmosphere in the bedrooms is very comforting. When the weather is fine we bring chairs and a table to the balcony and enjoy warm evenings outside.

House of My Dream
Everyone likes
dreaming. Dream is a hope for better things. It helps us to
overcome the difficulties of our daily routine. A dream depends
on people, on their education, nationality, character and other
things. People imagine they have a lot of money, own family, an
expensive car. Other people imagine themselves to be presidents
of different countries or whole planets, etc.
I’d like to tell
you about the house of my dream. I’d like to have my own house
on the bank of a beautiful river with crystal water, surrounded
by high mountains, covered with green forest of evergreen trees.
I would live
there with my wife and two children. I imagine my house to be a
2 storeyed building. Near the front side it has a facade with
columns and steps up to the front door. There are also two
balconies and a terrace in my house. The windows are in the
shape of arches. Through them you can see a wonderful landscape.
There are lots of fir trees and flowers around the house. And
you can walk in the shade of these trees listening to the birds
singing.
As you come
through the front door, you find yourself in a large hall with
an open fireplace. One of the doors leads to the living room.
This room faces the south, so it’s very sunny and has a lovely
view of the whole valley. In the middle of this room there’s a
thick Persian carpet.
There are few
units of furniture in this room. On the left there’s a leather
sofa and small table nearby, on the right you can see home
cinema and satellite receiver. There are two armchairs in the
corner of this room. In the living
room we spend our evenings chatting with each other, children
play with a kitten.
Then a wide
staircase takes you to the first floor where there are four
bedrooms. My children’s rooms are really vast. The wallpapers
are very colourful in bright shapes. Also there are lots of toys
to play with.
In the basement
there is a big garage for our cars. We have got two cars: one
for me and one for my wife.
Behind the house
there is a swimming bath, covered with glass. There are some
plastic armchairs around the swimming bath. Our house looks
peaceful and calm and the calmest room is my study. Next door to
the study there is our library. It is a huge room with thousands
books on history, astronomy, physics, science fictions, fantasy,
poetry, etc. Someone might think that it is an antagonism,
because everything we want to read we can receive via Internet,
but I like real books, to handle them in my hands, to read them
page by page. As for my children, they prefer associating with
their friends.
We have many
different electrical appliances in our house. They make our life
more comfortable. Also we have some robots to help us. They look
after the house, grow vegetables in our garden and involved in
cooking. So, we enjoy having greens and fresh vegetables on our
dinner table during long winters. Our house is a beautiful place
at any time of the year. In winter it’s warm and cozy, in summer
there is so much to do outside.

The main thing for me in the house of my dream is beauty and comfort. That’s what I imagine my future house to be. I dream to live in a private house somewhere in the quite suburb of the city.
