I love my Homeland. My relatives, friends and colleagues live here too, I also love them. All the inhabitants of my Homeland understand Russian, so they can communicate without any problems.
Russia is the largest state in the world. It is washed by two oceans at once. They are the Pacific and Arctic oceans and there are much more seas in Russia. On these seas Russia has a large fleet, and has the huge reserves of natural resources, such as gas, oil, gold and others. In Siberia and the Far East Russia has a large forest area with wildlife. But, despite the enormous resources, the majority part of Russia’s population is not living a wealthy life.
My country is the Republic and the Federation.
And Moscow is the capital of my country, it is bigger than some European countries.
Russia is a multinational country, therefore divided into federated Republics, Autonomous provinces and districts. There are about two hundred different Nations who live here. They are Russians, Tatars, Bashkirs, Kazakhs, Azeris, Ukrainians, Jews, Chukchas and many others. They are all called the Russian citizens. They should live together peacefully, because they have one and the same country. Unfortunately, it is often different. But I hope that by the time I grow up quarrels between the people of my country will finish.

Russia is unique country. Our country is well known around the world with its enormous territory, various and beautiful landscapes. In addition we have great history and cultural heritage. From generation to generation stories of great event and personalities are told. So thinking of native land we think about modern and former heroes: artists, musicians, writers and poets. I love my Russia and I proud with its endless fields, fertile forests, seas, rivers, lakes, cities and villages.
I could never leave my country. I was born here, same raised here so it became part of my life. I’m very glad to live in peaceful time. It is the opportunity to visit great school to get education, do my favorite things and stay close to my family and friends. Because homeland is not only land it’s also people that surround us in daily life. It’s bigger than one can imagine.
Deep knowledge about my country is my priority. I know it takes lots of efforts and there will be many difficulties but I’m confident about myself. As they say man is happy knowing his destination, where his should follow and how make his dreams into real. I will decorate my life with dreams having bright future ahead. And I’m really glad to live in Russia.

China is the one of the largest countries in the world. The total area of the country is over a million square kilometers. As for population, China is the first country in the world. Over one billion people live there. It means that one out of every five people in the whole world is Chinese. China has a recorded history of nearly four thousand years. It was a monarchy till 1949 when Mao Tse Tung became a head of the state. Since that year China has been a Socialist Republic. In 1976 China started the Cultural Revolution. It finished, when Mao died.
And now China is in the hands of Deng Xiaping, who has given the country some freedom. Doors are now open to the rest of the world. And you can even come to China to study there. Some words about China”s education system. First of all, all foreign students will have to share a room with one Chinese student, which is very common. Days start very early, so they”ll have to get up at about six o”clock. There are morning exercises in the open air, and they will be invited to join. The breakfast is at about six thirty. The classes will probably be in English and Chinese, they begin at seven thirty. Lunch is at twelve, and then more classes until six. After school day students usually go to the cinema. New Zealand
New Zealand occupies two large islands and many small ones in the south-western part of the Pacific Ocean. USA. It is faraway country, on the other side of the world. It is country of contrasts and great opportunities. There are a number of time zones and two oceans, the Pacific and the Atlantic, between us. And what attracts me to it?
The US is state with rich cultural heritage and fascinating history. It has passed a long way of formation and has earned respect from other countries. During the Second World War the US had been a reliable support for the Soviet Union because it had helped much in the fight against the fascism.
America gave the world a lot of great people, such as Abraham Lincoln, James Fenimore Cooper, Ernest Hemingway and Martin Luther King. This list is endless. We should not forget about Christopher Columbus, because he had discovered this previously unknown continent.
A lot of cultures, mentalities and nations are intertwined in America. This has formed the current face of the country. Today, the US is a prosperous country, “the first economy of the world”. Many people want to go to the US to get an education, make a career, or just see this truly amazing place.
There are so many beautiful cities in America: big cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Miami as well as little provincial towns. I want to pick out New York City among big cities. I associate New York with lots of yellow taxis on Times Square, crowds of people, who hurry somewhere and of course with skyscrapers and Statue of Liberty. Recently, I wanted to “taste “The Big Apple””. No matter how stupidly it sounds, this ambition appeared, when I was playing video game `Grand theft Auto IV`.
That would be so nice to wake up in the morning and go for a walk on Manhattan, visit the famous Wall Street, see Columbia University, stroll along Broadway, stare at the colorful advertising signs in Times Square. Then, we can go to Central Park for a walk, encountering running people in tracksuits, mummies with prams, people walking their dogs or to sit on green grass. After this we can pop to coffee shop and then go to Liberty Island where a statue with the same name is located, which has become a national symbol of America.
New York is the capital of American fashion. Fashion Weeks are held there. New York City is not only a big beautiful city, but it is one of the world economic centers. Also there is the headquarters of UN.
California will certainly leave nobody indifferent. San Francisco with Cable Cars and Golden Gate Bridge, Silicon Valley and high technologies, San Diego and its Zoo – that`s California.
There are most picturesque beaches of the West coast. I would be glad to be on of these beaches. Lying on golden sand and the sun gently caressing your skin, ocean softly roaring, boys and girls in swimsuits playing beach volleyball and the rescuers attentively watching over what is happening. California is an excellent place for surfing. I would take a lesson from local surfing instructors.
There is also Hollywood in the Golden State, it is the well-known suburbs of Los Angeles. Hollywood had discovered the world-famous stars like Audrey Hepburn, Kirk Douglas, Harrison Ford and Meryl Streep. It is noteworthy, that the governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is actor too. By the way, I want to visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
It is interesting, that there are two towns, which name is Washington, in America except the capital of the US. The capital of the US, Washington D.C., deserves attention too. What can I say about this city? The government of the USA is situated there and a number of government buildings, like United States Capitol, residence of president of the United States, the White House, and Supreme Court of the United States. Washington D.C. is one of the most beautiful cities of America. Architecture of US Capitol and Supreme Court of the US is amazing. In the US capital we can also see The Lincoln Memorial, inside which the statue of sixteenth president is located. You must see this.
United States of America is a truly great country, with special lifestyle, unique people and its own traditions. My cherished dream is to go there and learn how America really is.

My favourite country is New Zealand. I have many friends from this country, I met them on international web-site, I like chatting with them, we speak about everything.
New Zealand is located over 1,600km south east of Australia. The capital of New Zealand is Wellington. New Zealand has a population of around 3.5 million, of whom 13 % are Maori.
The official languages are: English and Maori. The biggest cities are: Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch. I`d like to go to the Auckland. Climate of New Zealand has what is known as a maritime climate. Also, New Zealand has the best beaches for doing water-sports: swimming, diving, fishing, sailing and windsurfing. The most popular sport in New Zealand is windsurfing.
In New Zealand mostly of peoples celebratethe Christmas on the beach, because when we have a winter, they have a summer.

The United Kingdom is very small compared with many other countries in the world. However there are only nine other countries with more people, and London is the world’s seventh biggest city. When you travel about the country you can see how the scenery changes right in front of your eyes. Highlands turn into lowlands; forests and hills turn into meadows and plains very quickly. It’s hard to believe, but in Great Britain one you can find practically any type of scenery. Britain is unusually beautiful country! England can be divided for four parts: the Southeast, the Southwest, East Anglia, the Midlands and the North of England.
The Southeast is a highly populated region of England. London, the capital of the UK, and such historical cities as Windsor, Dover and Brighton are situated here. When people travel to Britain by sea or by air they usually arrive in the Southeast, for this is where the main passenger ports and airports are. Heathrow airport, one of the world’s busiest airports is about 33 km west of central London.
The Southwest is the region where the main activity is farming. The Southwest used to be known for its pirates. The two principal cities of the region are Bristol and Bath. If you want to see the famous Stonehenge you should also come here. The most westerly point of Great Britain “Land’s End” is also in the Southwest.
East Anglia is very flat and it is another farming region. It has beautiful cities with fine historic buildings such as Cambridge. It is more that half surrounded by the sea.
The Midlands, known as the heart of England, is the largest industrial part in the country. The most important industrial cities are Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool which is one of Britain’s big ports, and Birmingham. The two famous.
Midlands cities are Stratford-upon-Avon and Oxford. Stratford is the birthplace of William Shakespeare and Oxford is famous for its university.
The North of England has some of the wildest and loneliest parts in the country. Here you can find deep valleys, rivers and waterfalls, hills and mountains. This part of the country is rich in coal. It’s believed that the place where we were born is significantly important for us. First of all, we are greatly influenced by people around us and we are formed by moral and cultural values existing in a particular country. Moreover, we reflect the history of our nation and experience gained through the centuries. So, I can say that “motherland” is not only the word, but it’s in fact who we are.
As for me, I was born in Russia and I’m absolutely convinced that it’s the best place for living. To start with, Russia is the largest country in the world. It is famous for its natural sources such as oil and gas as well as its cultural inheritance for the reason that Russian music, art and literature are well-known all over the world. Thus, the masterpieces of Pushkin, Chekhov, Repin, Malevich and Tchaikovsky have charmed millions of people in different parts of our planet.
However, Russia is also quite a multinational country, though all nations have a common history. In spite of the fact that the country is divided into federal republics and autonomous regions and areas, they are all united by common goals and ideology that leads to peaceful coexistence and productive collaboration of so different parts of our diverse country.
Furthermore, Russian nature dramatically varies too. One can find everything imaginable here. From enormous endless fields and forests with their unique beauty of flowers and trees to fascinating mountains, pure lakes and rivers. Here we can also see one of the symbols of our country, birch. Unity with nature brings us internal balance and energy.
Thus, I can say that I’m really proud of my country, of its history and culture. I like travelling and visiting other countries, understanding other cultures, but there is no such amazing and diverse country as Russia which is so comfortable to live in.

Russia is unique country. Our country is well known around the world with its enormous territory, various and beautiful landscapes. In addition we have great history and cultural heritage. From generation to generation stories of great event and personalities are told. So thinking of native land we think about modern and former heroes: artists, musicians, writers and poets. I love my Russia and I proud with its endless fields, fertile forests, seas, rivers, lakes, cities and villages.
I could never leave my country. I was born here, same raised here so it became part of my life. I’m very glad to live in peaceful time. China is the one of the largest countries in the world. The total area of the country is over a million square kilometers. As for population, China is the first country in the world. Days start very early, so they”ll have to get up at about six o”clock. There are morning exercises in the open air, and they will be invited to join. The breakfast is at about six thirty. The classes will probably be in English and Chinese, they begin at seven thirty. Lunch is at twelve, and then more classes until six. After school day students usually go to the cinema. America gave the world a lot of great people, such as Abraham Lincoln, James Fenimore Cooper, Ernest Hemingway and Martin Luther King. This list is endless. We should not forget about Christopher Columbus, because he had discovered this previously unknown continent.
A lot of cultures, mentalities and nations are intertwined in America. This has formed the current face of the country. Today, the US is a prosperous country, “the first economy of the world”. Many people want to go to the US to get an education, make a career, or just see this truly amazing place.
There are so many beautiful cities in America: big cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Miami as well as little provincial towns. I want to pick out New York City among big cities. I associate New York with lots of yellow taxis on Times Square, crowds of people, who hurry somewhere and of course with skyscrapers and Statue of Liberty. California will certainly leave nobody indifferent. San Francisco with Cable Cars and Golden Gate Bridge, Silicon Valley and high technologies, San Diego and its Zoo – that`s California.
There are most picturesque beaches of the West coast. I would be glad to be on of these beaches. Lying on golden sand and the sun gently caressing your skin, ocean softly roaring, boys and girls in swimsuits playing beach volleyball and the rescuers attentively watching over what is happening. California is an excellent place for surfing. I would take a lesson from local surfing instructors.
There is also Hollywood in the Golden State, it is the well-known suburbs of Los Angeles. Hollywood had discovered the world-famous stars like Audrey Hepburn, Kirk Douglas, Harrison Ford and Meryl Streep. It is noteworthy, that the governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is actor too. By the way, I want to visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
It is interesting, that there are two towns, which name is Washington, in America except the capital of the US. The capital of the US, Washington D.C., deserves attention too. What can I say about this city? The government of the USA is situated there and a number of government buildings, like United States Capitol, residence of president of the United States, the White House, and Supreme Court of the United States. Washington D.C. is one of the most beautiful cities of America. Architecture of US Capitol and Supreme Court of the US is amazing. In the US capital we can also see The Lincoln Memorial, inside which the statue of sixteenth president is located. You must see this.
United States of America is a truly great country, with special lifestyle, unique people and its own traditions. My cherished dream is to go there and learn how America really is.

Как много в Америке прекрасных городов. Как мегаполисов: Нью-Йорк, Лос-Анджелес, Майами, так и маленьких провинциальных городков. Среди больших городов хочется отметить Нью-Йорк. Нью-Йорк ассоциируется у меня с множеством жёлтых такси на Таймс-Сквер, толпами людей спешащих куда-то, ну и, конечно же, небоскрёбами и Статуей Свободы. Совсем недавно я загорелся желанием “попробовать “Большое яблоко” на вкус”. Как бы это глупо ни звучало, но это желание появилось у меня после того как я поиграл в игру Grand Theft Auto IV.
Как было бы здорово проснуться утром и пойти гулять по Манхэттену, посетить знаменитую Уолл-стрит, посмотреть на Колумбийский университет, прогуляться по Бродвею, полюбоваться на цветастые вывески на Таймс-Сквер. Пройтись по Центральному парку, встречая на своём пути пробегающих мимо людей в спортивных костюмах, мамочек с колясками, людей, выгуливающих собак, или посидеть на зелёной травке. После можно забежать в кофейню, а затем отправиться на остров свободы, на котором находится одноимённая статуя, ставшая национальным символом Америки.
Нью-Йорк также является американской столицей моды. Там проводятся Недели Моды. Следует сказать о том, что Нью-Йорк – это не просто большой красивый город, а ещё и один из экономических центров мира. Также здесь расположена штаб-квартира ООН.
Калифорния наверняка не оставит никого равнодушным. Сан-Франциско со своими трамвайчиками и мостом “Золотые ворота”, Силиконовая долина с высокими технологиями, Сан-Диего со своим зоопарком – всё это Калифорния.
Именно там находятся самые живописные пляжи Западного побережья. Я был бы очень рад оказаться на одном из них. Лежишь на золотистом песке, а солнце нежно ласкает твою кожу, океан тихо шумит, парни и девушки в купальных костюмах играют в пляжный волейбол, спасатели на своих вышках внимательно следят за происходящим. Калифорния – превосходное место для занятий сёрфингом. Надо бы взять пару уроков у местных инструкторов.
Также в “Золотом штате” находится Голливуд, знаменитый район Лос-Анджелеса. Именно Голливуд открыл миру всемирно известных звёзд, среди которых можно выделить Одри Хепбёрн, Кирк Дуглас, Харрисон Форд, Мэрил Стрип. Примечательно, что губернатор Калифорнии, Арнольд Шварценеггер, тоже актёр. Кстати, обязательно надо посетить “Аллею славы”.
Очень интересен тот факт, что помимо столицы в Америке есть ещё два города с названием Вашингтон. Столица США, Вашингтон, тоже заслуживает внимания. Что же можно сказать о политическом центре страны? Там сосредоточено правительство и ряд правительственных зданий, таких, как Капитолий, резиденция президента США – Белый дом, Верховный суд США. Вашингтон – это один из красивейших городов Америки. Архитектура Капитолия и Верховного суда поражает воображение. Также в столице США можно увидеть мемориал Линкольна, в помещении которого находится статуя шестнадцатого президента. Это нужно видеть вживую.
Соединённые Штаты Америки поистине великая страна, с особым укладом жизни, с уникальными людьми и своими традициями. Моя заветная мечта – побывать там и узнать о том, какая она, настоящая Америка.

Nowadays, we cannot imagine our modern life without travelling. We can travel on business or for pleasure. Also, we can travel by air, by sea or by road. As for me, I prefer to travel by plane, it is most convenient and fastest.
I like travelling very much. It is very interesting to travel from one country to other country, especially when you know foreign languages, you can to communicate with people from different countries and make new friends.
When I grow-up my dream is to be an interpreter, with this profession you will be travel around the world very much, I like to meet more new people and make new friends. I was always interested in different countries, geographical position of countries and peoples.
So I would like to tell you about my favourite country.
My favourite country is New Zealand. I have many friends from this country, I met them on international web-site, I like chatting with them, we speak about everything.
New Zealand is located over 1,600km south east of Australia. The capital of New Zealand is Wellington. New Zealand has a population of around 3.5 million, of whom 13 % are Maori.
The official languages are: English and Maori. The biggest cities are: Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch. I`d like to go to the Auckland. Climate of New Zealand has what is known as a maritime climate. Also, New Zealand has the best beaches for doing water-sports: swimming, diving, fishing, sailing and windsurfing. The most popular sport in New Zealand is windsurfing.
In New Zealand mostly of peoples celebratethe Christmas on the beach, because when we have a winter, they have a summer.
I think that New Zealand is a country of beauty, filled with amazing and unique wildlife. People living in this country are very lucky.

The United Kingdom is very small compared with many other countries in the world. However there are only nine other countries with more people, and London is the world’s seventh biggest city. When you travel about the country you can see how the scenery changes right in front of your eyes. Highlands turn into lowlands; forests and hills turn into meadows and plains very quickly. It’s hard to believe, but in Great Britain one you can find practically any type of scenery. Britain is unusually beautiful country! England can be divided for four parts: the Southeast, the Southwest, East Anglia, the Midlands and the North of England.
The Southeast is a highly populated region of England. London, the capital of the UK, and such historical cities as Windsor, Dover and Brighton are situated here. When people travel to Britain by sea or by air they usually arrive in the Southeast, for this is where the main passenger ports and airports are. Heathrow airport, one of the world’s busiest airports is about 33 km west of central London.
The Southwest is the region where the main activity is farming. The Southwest used to be known for its pirates. The two principal cities of the region are Bristol and Bath. If you want to see the famous Stonehenge you should also come here. The most westerly point of Great Britain “Land’s End” is also in the Southwest.
East Anglia is very flat and it is another farming region. It has beautiful cities with fine historic buildings such as Cambridge. It is more that half surrounded by the sea.
The Midlands, known as the heart of England, is the largest industrial part in the country. The most important industrial cities are Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool which is one of Britain’s big ports, and Birmingham. The two famous.
Midlands cities are Stratford-upon-Avon and Oxford. Stratford is the birthplace of William Shakespeare and Oxford is famous for its university.
The North of England has some of the wildest and loneliest parts in the country. Here you can find deep valleys, rivers and waterfalls, hills and mountains. This part of the country is rich in coal. The main attractions of the North of England are certainly the Lake District, the cities of York and Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
It’s believed that the place where we were born is significantly important for us. First of all, we are greatly influenced by people around us and we are formed by moral and cultural values existing in a particular country. Moreover, we reflect the history of our nation and experience gained through the centuries. So, I can say that “motherland” is not only the word, but it’s in fact who we are.
As for me, I was born in Russia and I’m absolutely convinced that it’s the best place for living. To start with, Russia is the largest country in the world. It is famous for its natural sources such as oil and gas as well as its cultural inheritance for the reason that Russian music, art and literature are well-known all over the world. Thus, the masterpieces of Pushkin, Chekhov, Repin, Malevich and Tchaikovsky have charmed millions of people in different parts of our planet.
However, Russia is also quite a multinational country, though all nations have a common history. In spite of the fact that the country is divided into federal republics and autonomous regions and areas, they are all united by common goals and ideology that leads to peaceful coexistence and productive collaboration of so different parts of our diverse country.
Furthermore, Russian nature dramatically varies too. One can find everything imaginable here. From enormous endless fields and forests with their unique beauty of flowers and trees to fascinating mountains, pure lakes and rivers. Here we can also see one of the symbols of our country, birch. Unity with nature brings us internal balance and energy.
Thus, I can say that I’m really proud of my country, of its history and culture. I like travelling and visiting other countries, understanding other cultures, but there is no such amazing and diverse country as Russia which is so comfortable to live in.

Единение с природой приносит нам душевное равновесие и энергию.
Итак, я могу сказать, что я действительно горжусь своей страной, ее историей и культурой. Мне нравится путешествовать и посещать другие страны, узнавать другие культуры, но такой удивительной, разнообразной и комфортной для жизни страны, как Россия, нет больше нигде.
